  1. hmmmmm I don't seem to fit in here (yet) unless the Lounge Queen would be so king as to make a new role......... The SCROUNGING PLEB! It sounds very ummmm glorious and ummmmmm worthy..... However as this is my first topic in the lounge I'm not reall eligible for any of those mighty roles :( But I may be able to polish their boots for a while! :) Daedthr
  2. Hello all loungers (especially the lazy ones) I have been reading some threads about the Lounge Lord and am curious to know what the title actually is and means. Is there some sort of lounge cast system? I like caste systems :) Daedthr
  3. MCBM has answered now so once I have completed my mod (or had enough of it) I shall join your team. :)
  4. How very odd, I have never heard of this before but If you don't want to use the console I suppose the obvious thing to do would be to place the claw somewhere else in the ruin using the Creation Kit. This is just a bypass though and I don't know how to actually fix the bug. Daedthr
  5. I'm waiting for a dragon riding mod, to see if I can RIDE Paarthurnax! If not then he's gotta go so I can make a tower on top of the throat of the world which is being constantly circled by Odahviing :). Daedthr
  6. Hey Yota71, What type of house, as in what would the exterior look like (farmhouse, castle, city house etc.)?
  7. I am making a new questline for Skyrim at the moment which will be called the Outcast Saga. I hope to work with other modders and to incorporate other mods (with permission of course) so that things such as dragon riding could be achieved, as they would really add to the story line. I also plan for the player to take a greater part in Skyrim's Hierarchy, perhaps King/Queen, perhaps not.
  8. Hey SquallV, Simply importing and exporting as .obj will work for weapons but for armor you have to do other things to in order to get the weight sliders done correctly. I'm not sure what you would do for races and player models but I'm assuming it would be more similar to armor. Here is a tutorial for importing/exporting armor nifs into blender and Skyrim: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3790 Daedthr
  9. Hey MadGame0ver, You say that you renamed and modified its in-game stats so I'm assuming thats its still the same item in the game (same base ID, same ref ID and is still generic orcish armor). Surely if its still the same item you would replace the texture in the orcish armor directory and not make a new directory. If you made a new item however could you not pick your items texture in the menu where you set its stats etc. I have not tried editing armor in the Creation Kit yet but in Oblivions Construction Set when you made a new item you were prompted to choose the texture and type the filepath into the menu where you made the item. If however this does not work in the Creation Kit you would as you said in your post, have to change the file pats for the texture which I would think you'd be able to in blender if you don't like nifskope, although at some points you may have to use nifskope. If you wish to know how to change the file paths in blender, please PM and I'll reply later. Also if you replace the texture in the orcish armor directory you should make sure the name of the custom texture is the same as the default one. Daedthr P.S Will this armor be for your personal use in-game or is it going to be generic (all sets of orcish armor will have the custom texture), because is its for your personal use you need to make a new item.
  10. Hey exin, Perhaps it has something to with the Better Female Body mod, you might want to check they're load order as thy both edit the female body. Also see if it says anything about compatibility in either of they're readmes. Other than that I don't know my friend.
  11. Hello to all who read this, Now that the Creation Kit is out I have started to make a quest series called "The Outcast Saga." However I would like one of the quests to start when the player reaches a certain bounty level. This level is going to be 10000 but I'm not sure quite how to do this. The first quest stage is 5 which I have written a log entry and an objective with an alias for. I have given the log entry a condition which is: GetCrimeGold PlayerFaction _> 10000. Will this work? If it does will only the log entry show up? I just need to know how to make the quest starts when the player gets 10000 bounty or more. Any help will be greatly appreciated. P.S At one point in the quest the player will have to go to an exterior location (a small camp) to get the next stage. Will someone tell me how to make and objective or alias for that or even better, to have to sleep in the bedroll at the camp to get to the next stage? Daedthr
  12. Oh, ok. Sorry that I ask questions that probably don't deserve to be questions to you :). I'll do that then, oh and btw you have actually given me a lot of other help without knowing because on a lot of the topics I read to give me some information, you've posted something that's been helpful or you've at least posted. You must quite active, so thanks.
  13. Hang on a minute, I just realised this guide is for armor nifs when I am making a sword mesh. So if you've read it, should I just skip the part about the BP_TORSO etc. because it seems to be about weighting which is not necessary for a sword?
  14. Hello anyone who reads this I am currently trying to import some Skyrim nifs into blender and am following this guide http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3790. I however have hardly any knowledge of NifSkope and therefore cannot find the BSLightingShaderProperty to delete it (because blender can't read it or something). Please can someone take a small amount of their time to just tell me where to go to find it> I know this is probably very "nooby" but If I have to ask a newby question to start modding I will. Oh, and it also says that after making the changes for preparation (see the guide) it says you need to save, but I'm not sure what it means, because I can save the file but I'm not sure how to save the setting changes it describes. If anyone can help I would be very grateful.
  15. Recently I've been doing some Skyrim modding, re-textures mostly. I hope at some time to release these mods (however bad they may be). The problem is I'm not sure how to add my re-texture to the game without replaceing all of the original items textures with my own. Specifically I am making a re-texture of the Thalmor Robes, replacing black with white, adding better gold embroidery and better patterns etc. However I don't want every Thalmor Elf in the game wearing this re-textured robe as I hope to make the robes much more powerful than normal Thalmor robes while providing the player a challenge in getting them. I am aware that when the Creation Kit is released it will probably be very easy to do this, I was wondering however if there was a way to make a new item for the game using the Thalmor Robe mesh but with my texture. Thanks in adavance to all who try to help, and I hope the Creation Kit comes out soon. Daedthr
  16. Hey erkor, I don't know if you've tried it out but you can actually use a console command do exactly that so a skilled modder might be able to utilize the scripts used in that command, although the camera position would need editing. If you haven't already the command is: player.setrace dragonrace Daedthr
  17. Hey envyme, Sounds like a brilliant idea and highly possible and I'd like to try and work on it. However a mod like this would most likely be based a lot on scripting so it would probably be best to wait until the Creation Kit comes out, seeing as Skyrim uses a unique scripting language accessible (as far as I am aware) only through the program the developers used to make it. I would really like to have a mod like this and I agree that the sneaking in Skyrim (and all the Elder Scrolls games) could be improved upon a lot. I also think a lot of it might be done by simply changing certain values in the kit which wouldn't make it too hard to make; though this might just be me dreaming. Daedthr
  18. Hey LightForce101, Before I try to help you, could you tell me what program you used to make this armor mesh or if it was a vanilla mesh, in what program did you re-texture it?
  19. Hey Matthiee, what type of mod are you looking to make and for which elder scrolls game? Some mods do not need a lot programming language knowledge to make, for instance creating or editing weapons and armor. Other mods may require more knowledge, but if this is your first time modding your best to try and edit vanilla weapons or armor just to get to know the tools you'll be working with. As for tutorials there are plenty, normally UESP wikia has some, here I'll try and give you a link: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tes5Mod:Tes5Mod This should give you some information about modding for Skyrim although until the creation kit is released modding for Skyrim is rather more difficult than for the previous games. If you want any more answers don't hesitate to ask and I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. Good Luck!
