  1. Tolben180: I wasn't intending to reply aggressively, I was trying to acknowledge your (quite frankly justified) doubts. Sorry for the miscommunication, and I appreciate the help. Thanks to everyone who replied. I have already posted to steam, I have no doubt the issue should be resolved seeing as I have heard nothing but good words spoken about their customer service. I guess I was just being a little impatient, similar to when I first picked this up on console except now I'm blown away by the true beauty of this game. I decided to just generally hold off on the modding anyway. I might play around with a few though, I always thought that one critical element skyrim lacked was boobs. Looking at the content here I doubt I'll be disappointed! Thanks again.
  2. Yes, suspect of piracy was the underlying issue I was concerned about. Skyrim is probably the most enjoyment I have had out of a single player game in a very long time, well worth the two copies I have bought, and nothing against Bethesda as a company. I suppose you could rephrase my original post: Will mods work, or (as a somewhat anti-piracy mechanism) do unpatched skyrim copies not work with mods? I can understand if that were to be the case, and I suppose I can't fault it. I'm just itching to try out some mods! It will take me a while to re install the game at my 300kbps download speed, which is why I made this thread. It's an inconvenience more than anything. I can understand if you don't feel 'safe' to advise such a post, chancing that I could be advocating piracy. To be honest, I would feel the same. Thanks for you time regardless.
  3. Recently transferred from xbox to PC. My steam update on skyrim isn't working- that's to say it doesn't progress further than 0%. I'm fairly confident this is a problem on my end (obviously) and I'm thinking I will have to re install skyrim or try to torrent the patch, although I don't want to provide support to such services. It really an issue, I haven't started or anything, and I'm not here looking for assistance regarding this issue. However, one of the real reasons I wanted skyrim for PC was for mods. Will I still be able to use mods on an unpatched version of skyrim? It would be cool to play around with stuff. Will the mod manager conflict / is this an issue regarding certain specific mods (I have tried to look in to this but it seems if there is ever a patch conflict it is that it isn't compatible with the later versions yet) or does the unpatched skyrim simply not fly with mods? I'm aware of the creation kit update, do most mods only come in to play after the patch containing this? Any help would be appreicated. I'm really not looking for "find a way to get your patch working" responses, it isn't why I made this thread.
