  1. So, here's a thing: constant loading in-between interiors and exteriors is annoying as hell, especially in 2018. For many years developers tried to create seamless worlds(or at least an illusion of a seamless world), using aggressive object culling techniques. You can find such examples in games like GTA IV or Witcher 2. As I understood from these topics: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/5522717-fallout-4-optimization-and-performance-systems-explained/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/6963451-game-loads-small-room-instead-of-load-screen-when-in-room-the-world-loads-in-the-background-possible/ It is pretty hard to force background loading of cells with engine's vanilla capabilities and 'elevators' are not too elegant and if anything are just a clumsy workaround. Perhaps someone who knows his ways in F4SE can comment on whether additional scripting would help to achieve something like that. Major thanks to @montky for providing me with those links and information on the subject.
  2. Soooo....here I was, butthurting at the fact that Skyrim and Fallout 4 have so many loading screens for interiors and I started thinking how different games managed to fight such limitations. Then I remembered GTAIV from 2008 which used extremely aggressive and yet extremely clever system to render only a low-LOD model of a part of the world in front of the door and would only load interiors as the player opened the door, stopping rendering them after the player left. It might be tricky to pull off with all the interactive objects and NPCs, but couldn't we possible make a script which would remember the positions of dynamic objects in that interior? Of course there are problems with letting other characters to go wherever they want, but...here's an idea: we let characters go wherever they want(aka to the old cells) as they please, but as soon as player comes in close proximity to the interior, a script teleports the NPC into precise location within the actual interior where he should be! I do understand that it would mean a lot of compatibility issues with different mods and that it is necessary to re-create all the markers and quest objects, but my logic tells me that it is possible albeit through a lot of work. Is it even possible to apply such an object culling technique in Creation Engine? Can you, for example, create a script which would be executed by distance to a specific plain door where cells are only being loaded when you are in the direct proximity of that object? And is it possible to cull-out all the exterior cells once you entered the interior itself? With all that, I would like for someone who is really into Creation Engine and all of it's intricacies to tell me what are the real engine limitations how such a system can be intelligently created?
  3. I wanted to buy this game anyways, but my greediness tells me to participate :D
  4. So I moved the game to my SSD and...well, it got worse. Where I had 45-46 FPS now I have 40-41. I have absolutely no Idea what to do about it other than to try install Windows 7 on a separate partiotion and test it there to make sure OS is to blame. P.S. Shortly after I posted this comment I realised that it would be too much of a hassle to reinstall Windows and I'm too lazy to make new partitions for experiment sake only, so I guess all I can do now is just HATE Microsoft and forget about doing another playthrough of Skyrim until better days come by.
  5. Yes, tried. Slightly better, but still not good enough. Within the margin of error. As I said same thing happened previously with DX10 Crysis games. I have the game installed on a laptop HDD which is 5400rpm, but I don't think it excuses the performance either. This hardware must be able to run the game at way over 100FPS in vanilla state at 1080p...I'll try to put it on my SSD and come back with the feedback.
  6. So a couple of months ago I bought myself a new laptop with an i7 7700HQ, 16GB of DDR4 and a GTX 1060 6GB. That is ACER Predator Helios 300. I enjoyed it's performance for quite some time before I decided to play some old games(including Skyrim) which use DX9/DX10 API and started getting very werid slowdowns where even my much older and much weaker system wouldn't have any issue at all. I used RivaTuner to see how's the hardware utilized and found that it is utilized very poorly. I don't have Crysis 1 and Crysis Warhead screenshots at the moment, however Skyrim one's show identical situation across the board. Low GPU utilization(at around 40%) and low CPU utilization(one core is stressed at 80-85%, the rest are not loaded whatsoever). Yes, drivers are up to date. Yes, DX runtime, visual studio and NET. are up to date Yes, I checked affinity - set to all processors. Yes, the game IS running on a discrete GPU, I checked. Yes, I did clean driver installation. Yes, I used DDU. Yes, DX11 titles use my system fully. Yes, this is vanilla. Had some mods installed along with ENB. Saw these weird slowdowns, unistalled everything, ran it in vanilla state - same s***. Yes, I tried turning Afterburner and RTSS off and it didn't help either. Yes, GameDVR is off. Yes, windows updates that adress VRAM issues on DX9 API in WIN10 ARE installed. No, VRAM and RAM can't be an issue. No, it's not a CPU bottleneck and this assumption is ridiculous. This game worked with the same settings at 60FPS on a very old i3 530 paired with a GTX560ti back in 2011. No, I don't want to play Special Edition instead, if I wanted to, I wouldn't post here to try and find the solution for the problem. Now that we got all that out of the way...I'm clueless! Completely so. I noticed, however, some problems in other games recently. In BF4, which I casually play quite often, I get hitches and sudden stutters from time to time and on MSI Afterburner statistics screen I see this weird anomally where my GPU temp numbers are constantly going between 0 and 47(it's idle temp). I ask you for help. If anyone ever had the same problem and/or knows how to deal with it other than possibly revert back to Win7 or "buy a new PC", please share the solution! P.S. I have no clue on how to attach screenshots here because of 250kb file size limit, but here's DXDiag.txt for now.
  7. Hello, everyone. I'm starting this topic because 3 days of browsing the internet for any solutions didn't gave me any results so far. The problem is: I installed ENB series on a modded steam Eng/Pl/Cz/Rus version(SteamAppId is 22490) and at first it didn't worked at all with 4GB and NVSE installed, but then I found instructions and made the game to launch, I guess, with ENB libraries. Suddenly, another problem occured: game starts and works fine, but I can't see anything at all. Black screen is all I see from the start(logos and main menu are black also, like fully black, no elements visible at all). I can blindly start the game and do actions in it. I hear pipboy sounds when I press Tab/B button, I hear Cass and ED-E, I hear explosions when I press LMB/RT button and shoot my greanade launcher, but all I see is a big black rectangle of a size of my screen. I am sure it is caused by ENB series, because when I uninstall ENB - game works just fine. No screenshots for obvious reason. I'm using FNV Realistic Wasteland Lighting FULL with ENB plugin installed. Also I guess it's worth mentioning I'm using slightly changed ini files from New Vegas Optimized to fit my system specs. Another thing to mention: FRAPS isn't working in this "black rectangle" situation. No FPS meter, screenshots and videocapturing are not working. Maybe some of these are hints to solve the problem. My hardware(only basic things, because I can't see how my harddrive, PSU or motherboard can affect ENB and New Vegas, while every other game works just fine): NVIDIA GTX 560 ti 1024MB Core i5 3570 3.4Ghz 8GB DDR3 RAM 1666Mhz My masterlist: FalloutNV.esm DeadMoney.esm HonestHearts.esm OldWorldBlues.esm LonesomeRoad.esm GunRunnersArsenal.esm ClassicPack.esm MercenaryPack.esm TribalPack.esm CaravanPack.esm YUP - Base Game + All DLC.esm Advanced Recon Tech.esm Interior Lighting Overhaul - Core.esm Interior Lighting Overhaul - L38PS.esm Project Nevada - Core.esm Project Nevada - Equipment.esm ELECTRO-CITY - CompletedWorkorders.esm ELECTRO-CITY - Highways and Byways.esm oHUD.esm Project Nevada - Rebalance.esp Project Nevada - Cyberware.esp New Vegas Redesigned 3.esm Gomorrah Redesigned.esp YUP - NPC Fixes (Base Game + ALL DLC).esp FalloutNV_lang.esp BlackMountainRadioRhonda.esp DarNifiedUINV.esp CASM.esp The Mod Configuration Menu.esp Better Burned Man.esp Project Nevada - Dead Money.esp Project Nevada - Honest Hearts.esp Project Nevada - Old World Blues.esp Project Nevada - Lonesome Road.esp Project Nevada - Gun Runners' Arsenal.esp LegBloatflyPerk.esp iAssist.esp Advanced Recon Gear.esp Advanced Recon Tech.esp Advanced Recon Gear-Locations Doc Mitchell.esp christinecos.esp GRA-WRP-Patch-Two_Unofficial.esp Advanced Recon Desert Ranger Helmet.esp Advanced Recon Gear - Project Nevada.esp Boacombat2glove.esp boa ncrpahelmet.esp Holster.esp I Got Spurs.esp NCR Ranger Helmet Neck Cover.esp My essential friends(animals).esp Mojave Nights.esp ShilohDS-Color Maps and Icons.esp PipBoyLightx2.esp Burning CampFire.esp dD - Enhanced Blood Main NV.esp Easy Hacking.esp JIP Companions Command & Control.esp LFox Bottle That Water.esp WeaponModsExpanded.esp Project Nevada - WMX.esp WMX-DLCMerged.esp WMX-ArenovalisTextures.esp WMX-POPMerged.esp EVE FNV - ALL DLC.esp WMX-EVE-AllDLCMerged.esp Project Nevada - EVE All DLC.esp Vurt's WFO.esp Interior Lighting Overhaul - Ultimate Edition.esp ILO - PipBoy Light.esp singleshot_retex.esp Zan_AutoPurge_SmartAgro_NV.esp EnhancedGrass.esp EnhancedDoF.esp Distributed Necklaces and Chains Neck Seam Concealer.esp DYNAVISION 3.esp 375retex.esp New Vegas Redesigned 3.esp Cass alternative version.esp Ragdolls.esp HeadTracking_IK.esp FNV Realistic Wasteland Lighting - Full.esp FNV Realistic Wasteland Lighting - ENB Full.esp FNV Merged Patch.esp NVSE Plugins: New Vegas Anti Crash New Vegas Stutter Remover New Vegas Enhanced Camera Mod Configuration Menu This build of the game was tested by me for more than 30 hours and no modconflicts were spotted during that time. Worked like a charm untill ENB. Also, I tried different versions of ENB series both compatible and incompatible with Realistic Wasteland Lighting and result was the same - black screen, even with "original" ENB series from Boris' site. Injector version also doesn't work. I will attach my ini file to this post in case there's something wrong with it and it is causing problems. Hope this will help you to better understand my problem and that finally you will help me (and maybe others facing the same problem) to solve it. Thanks in advance. P.S. For people coming in and saying "turn off antialiasing/anisotropic filtering/water displacement/transparency multisampling/check you NVIDIA control panel/configure ENB series ini files" - I'm not a noob, I read those instructions and I always turned off these settings both in launcher and in ini files when I installed ENB's before+cheked my control panel and ENB ini. I created this topic exactly because none of those "regular" solutions are working so far. P.P.S. All the Grammar people out there: please don't blame me if I wrote something incorrect, English isn't my native language. Update: It is working if laucnhed with a normal Fallout New Vegas launcher, NVSE and 4GB launchers are still not working. Update #2: It seems I finally got rid of this problem. The way I did it: 1. Extract 4GB enabler to a separate folder from New Vegas root. 2. Put ENB series wrapper version d3d9.dll inside exes folder, created by 4GB enabler 3. Put all the other ENB stuff in the main FNV folder 4.Create a shortcut for fnv4gb.exe, right click on it => properties => target window. Now in that window write everything below replacing text in brackets with your own paths: [Path to your 4gb Enabler]\fnv4gb.exe -exe "[Path to Steam]\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\FalloutNV.exe" -laaexe "[Path to Steam]\Steam\SteamApps\common\Fallout New Vegas\FalloutNV4gb.exe" If you are using Eng/Pl/Cz/Rus version, then to the end of all the above you should add -SteamAppId 22490 Nobody's reading this topic but anyway if somebody will ever face the same issue as I did, then try the solution above, it might work.
