Various Nexus related things from the Skyrim SE launch aftermath
VDracul replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
Well, I wasn't even aware of high traffic affecting the site. I downloaded something yesterday and didn't notice it being any slower. That talks about people behind the scenes doing a hell of a good job. -
I'm having this same issue, but only happens when I open the map. I have SkyUI 4 and Warburg's paper maps mod. It started doing that recently though, so I don't know.

That's the one I have now and it seems not to work. Damn, I used to have one that allowed me to fly even in interior cells, but lost it when I screwed the game up and had to reinstall it. Can't remember the name though, ugh!

He didn't misinterprete it guess, your posts just reminded him of one of our earlier talks here, (his answer and questions were for me mostly i guess), since earlier we've been trying to figure out why there are much less female players, and one of the possible reasons i brought up were skimpy sexy stuff. I never said that it is the only thing that completely alienates female players, but i am sure there is a siginficant amont of them who won't even try a certain game because they'd think (with every reason) that it was made purely for males when they see the shallow boobified characters (and/or the supermacho weapon wielding musclemen). Also i think that there are many-many bugfixes, which is not a good thing though, since there shouldn't be a need for them the first place  (However the sex-mod/real content mod ratio is shameful) Oh from previous connversations... :) Ok then. About the bug fixes, I agree with you. Games should be released without bugs, or at the very least with only one here or there, making bug fix mods unnecessary or very few needed. However, it's a good thing that we are able to create mods to solve a problem. Skyrim is so plagued with bugs, that's driving me crazy. This is my first play through, I just got the game recently. Every time I look up a quest guide, always see some result on google about a bug, and I'm like "Oh f***k, again?!" Yeah, can't progress on the main quest because of damn bugs. Good grief!

Quest Problem The path of knowledge! Missing Cubes
VDracul replied to Erdelord's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Correct, load order will vary. Here I was trying with 04 without remembering that when I downloaded the unofficial patch for Skyrim, it was pushed to 05. Thank you for reminding us about this bit of code!- 7 replies

One thing is not being "politically correct" and another different one is being a total jerk. Everything in life changes, that includes games, so deal with it. I'm sorry, but what is the problem?? EDIT: Further apologies, but I *think* I know what you are pointing to... (I think...) I am very happy for things to move forward, and that is actually kind of what I was trying to say in my original post... but yeah I guess it can be taken differently. Again, sorry to offend if I did, but was not my intention. Holy crap :O That was intended for someone who said something kind of rude and said something like "I'm not politically correct... jadi-jadi-da." I obviously quoted the wrong post, my sincere apologies, didn't mean to give grief to the wrong person.

1: No, they dont avoid them, actually many females use armors with some skimpyness. There are many reaons. first, there are barely any other choices, especially if you want something unique. Also, since the social standard of good looking female is set to revealingly dressing, thin and sexy, and as i mentioned they tend to follow social "expectations', it works like fashon industry, it is kinda the "gaming" fashion. Just think about how many females used to wear uggs lately, they are uncomfortable and fugly, but the big fashion industry said it's cool so it became popular. Same with skimpy game characters, since most aaa game devs and poular modding goes that way, they will go with it and kinda like it. 2: almost all female armor mods are exclusvely for those replacers, so they'll use them. Even i do. But i highly doubt that many of them use the over-exaggerated or the bouncy boobs versions. 3: if they are at least a bit more unique than vanilla, higher quality, and moderately sexy, they'll go for vanilla style instead of shiny eyesores like tera. But the tera style attracts anime fans and anime has a huge female fanbase too so it will always have a big audience. 4: Because it is sadly considered to be sexy by the majority. MMOs: I'm not familiar with them. But i bet females don't play it because they can have big boobs, they just don't really have other choice, are used to it, and even started to like it, because "fashion", also it is considered to be sexy, and they want to be sexy. Especially online. And i think those girls hooked on mmos do want a lot of attention... Also my main problem withy overly sexified stuff is not that it is unrealistic or looks silly (however, it is a problem), but that it became so important that it gives less and less room for quality content. So females go with this stuff because there isn't much else, also they want to look and feel attractive, and that is considered to be attractive. But i am sure they want more content than bouncy boobies. So about jRPGs, your problem is not the games or the "genre" but the term RPG used incorrectly. So if i want some role playing experience, i shouldn't look that way  Nicely said, hagyjalbeken. Couldn't have said it better myself. Signette totally misinterpreted what I said. I never said girls avoid playing games because of the skimpy outfits and armors, I said some girls COMPLAIN about such outfits/armor. I think there should be more options besides the skimpy, that don't show 90% of skin and let them decide what they'll download. If I create a mod with less revealing stuff (which will be primarily for my own enjoyment) and only a very people download it, I'll still be glad that at least those few people had one more choice different than the rest. And, Signette, since you misinterpreted what I said, I won't bother answering your questions. Again, I never said female gamers avoid or should avoid playing games because of outfit/armor showing most of their skin. About the abundance of over sexified stuff... a friend of mine was ranting about precisely that the other day about people "obsessing so much with sex mods and not creating anything to improve games, fix bugs, etc."

I don't get it to be honest... Why females aren't interested in certain genres, which are most likely rather neutral towards gender and has incredibly interesting gameplay, let's say Total War or Civilization strategy series, it doesn't anyhow directed towards males, you are ruler of civilization or some nation, there have been numerous women who led great countries, why it may not be interesting for many of you? Same can go, for example, about racing sims and probably arcades too, I swear, there are more women behind a wheel in the streets than men nowadays, and driver's concept is neutral at it's core, it doesn't display square jaw or scream "Ima man!" while driving, right? But it seems like ratio of males to females for these types of games would be like 100:1 at best, which is terrifing. Seriously, we are not that different, it feels like fem audience not playing these games because they think it not for them or some other stereotypical bs... Sad. I never even heard any opinions about what types of games would please specific fem audience, so I suspect those should be the same as for male pop, cause let's face it, SIMS, ME and etc is still has more players guys than girls... Awkward =/ Part of it is cultural bs that girls are indoctrinated with since childhood. Like a girl I was talking to recently, about 7 years old, she was talking about what she wants to do when she grows up (don't remember what was she said she wants to be, but it was a profession mostly male dominated) and I told her "Listen, you never ever stop doing what you want just because you are a girl. You always do what you want no matter what." So yeah, still in 2016 girls are being indoctrinated with stupid bs gender roles, so imo, that's a big reason why girls seem not to be interested in war or racing games. So yeah, not only awkward, but rather sad and unfair.

That's one way to look at it, but to take another perspective - female audience is generally MUCH less interested in gaming than male one. There may be few reasons which will remain a mystery and probably too individual to break down like that, so I'm not really sure it's all business. If fem audience would show more interest and be more active, industry would respond, no doubt. It may sound a bit biassed, but girls mostly play: SIMS, Mass Effect/Dragon Age, sometimes TES/FO, some MMOs and mobile games mostly, which pretty much forms the main basis, when males didvide in LOTS of different categories, spread out and covering alomost full market demand. And considering one-eyed wrinkled grumpy males, well, it definitely may be hot for someone, right? True, there are more male gamers than female, but definitely more female gamers than, say, a decade ago. Despite of being a guy myself, I do agree with female gamers who complain about the objectification and sexualization of women in games. Main reason is because I see women just as human and with same dignity as myself, but also, I prefer them to look natural/average and with clothes/armor that are not so over-revealing. A bit revealing is fine, but I think what I see most of the time is a bit too much. Not talking about dressing them from head to toe like if they are wearing a nun's robe or a burka, just actual clothing, LOL. That's one reason why one of my goals is to learn to make my own clothing/armor mods to my taste. Long way to go, though, I'm still just a newbie at it

Awesome! I'm a male, and definitely agree with you on that. I usually play as male, but also play as female once in a while. And no, I don't go for hot sexy females. I like them to look as natural as they can be, and I don't like to give them the "vulnerable" role that is most of the times given to females. I like them strong and bold, the type of woman that a bandit attacks thinking she's an easy target and finds out how mistaken he was when she turns around and sinks her sword into his chest, with the blade coming out of his back, or splits his head in 2 with a battleaxe. I like that type of chick to not be trifled with, but the reason I don't play female characters as much is because of the damn armors they get that barely would protect them if it were a real life scenario. Until I know how to create a mod to give them real armor, I won't be playing them as often.

LOL :D How did you do that? Cloned npc's?
-
A mod to fix that crap would be awesome. I want to kill Orthjolf so bad. I'm making him non-essential just to kill that worthless piece of you-know-what. I've been doing jobs for them hoping it would help me gain respect (this is my first playthrough) and it ain't working, so it's time to kill that big-mouth. I'll shove the Mace of Molag Bal down his throat! And, good grief, if it makes the player able to clean up and restore that castle, that'd be double awesome. Same with a few morons at the Thieves Guild. Geez, I restored the damn guild to what it was, was voted to be Guild Master and still some of them act like brats to me.

Assuming you are in the US, the constitution protect our freedom of speech from the government, so they can't throw us in jail just for expressing our opinion on something. It does not protect us from a private organization telling us to leave the room if they think we are crossing the line. Most chats I've been in kick people for really obnoxious things like sexually explicit language, encouraging others to do something illegal or hate speech. Another thing is that online, we are interacting with people from all over the world, and freedom of speech laws are different in different countries, so which one to apply would be a tricky business. And... you've been told repeatedly that you do NOT have to get into Discord if you don't care for it.
