skyrim invisibility spell vs invisibility potion
Blackraptor31 replied to ohDoiMust's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Just to add. Alchemy can do everything that illusion can and more. It also scales far better so your high lvl alchemy potions will beat the best illusion spells. -
Ulfric's successor if he were to die as High King
Blackraptor31 replied to PCGamer5's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The question has already been answered. A moot is called to select a new high king and the honour traditionally goes to the heir of the old king. -
Well that's pretty obvious, but not what I was really asking. I could shield bash one of the Thalmor to go hostile, and kill them without murder stats. But... I'd then get an assault, and/or arrested if in range of town guards . In the case of the Imperials, they raid or attack Stormcloak factions on sight. When I, a Stormcloak join in the fight, I get assault or murder charges...? Am I only a honorary Stormcloak without real in-game faction status? Why would my fellow Stormcloak (or Imperial) comrades attack, or arrest me, for doing the exact same thing they just were? Was this an oversight on Bethesda's part? Or is there something more specific, and cool if it were implemented, like having to wear specific Stormcloak, or Imperial, gear to be recognized as such? It isn't a crime if nobody sees you do it. Simply put, you don't have a faction per se and therefore any attack upon non-hostile humanoid is considered a crime.

When you've gathered evidence against the court mage, the journel tells you to go and tell jorleif. Don't do that but instead talk to the mage and Calixo will be inciminated and eventually killed. If the court mage does get arrested, the the quest will retrigger a few visits to Wildhelm later after yet another murder proves it wasn't who you said it was.

I found that picking them up and throwing them off the nearby cliff did the job rather easily.

I don't know, the word "selv-nerf" is a little weird, if you ask me. Because the only way you can "self-nerf", is if the game was planned to be a rushfest. It was not -- every TES game is about exploring. So instead of rushing, you loot. I.E. It's not really "self-nerfing" as you'd put it. And the other problem with combat mods for Skyrim, is that Skyrim isn't a combat game. As in, you can make monsters scale and/or make them twice as strong. In the end it does not matter: Either I get oneshot, I need to kite for half an hour, or I smack something on the head for 15 minutes. It isn't fun either way. Most combat improving mods simply scaled enemies, then give them more toys to play with. Perhaps even get some perks and use their abilities. Now, that does not make it more fun for anybody. Now you either get oneshot by a dragon, or any archer in general, or you need to wither down half a million hitpoints. That is the complete opposite of what I said. The only way to play vannila skyrim without it being broken is refusing to use some of the abilities open to you. Don't enchant, limited alchemy, no sneaking or else you turn the game into easy-mode. And the combat mods do none of what you said. The one I use doesn't give enemies more HP, it makes the combat more intuitive. There are far more things you have to consider. Your stance for example will affect how much damage you do, it isn't always just your weapon base dmg+combat lvl+crit%. Download the ACE combat mod, you won't regret it.

skyrim invisibility spell vs invisibility potion
Blackraptor31 replied to ohDoiMust's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Alchemy is the way to go. The ingridients for invisibility are fairly common, they don't cost magicka and you won't need perks to use them effectively. Casting spells makes a noise unless you have the right illusion perks. You can make a decent invis potion without any perks and it is completely silent. -
Both yes and no. The combat can be broken in your favour if you want too, but otherwise it's fine. I played 200 houres on my "adventurer spellsword" character. Currently level 68, explored about every part of the map I could before doing any quests. To make it more fun, I made a single rule: I am only able to craft gear I have previously found as loot, or bought. Now, I am level 68 and have only found 6 daedric items and 1 dragonscale item. I am still using Ebony boots! It makes exploring fun, the combat more balanced -- considering I was stuck with an ebony 1 handed before I got some Daedric artifacts and it gives you the awesome feeling when you find daedric items. You mean that the combat of skyrim isn't broken providing you self-nerf? You have to deliberately choose not to do something otherwise it makes the game too easy, even on master. Do what I did; download a combat mod, there are plenty out there although I prefer the "Athyra's Comprehensive Enhancments" as this fixes everything that was broken about enchanting, alchemy, and all weapons and magic whilst adding a ton of new features making combat more intuitive. Now fighting as a warrior is more than just smacking them until they keel over. If the game is still too easy, download some realism mods. Freeze to death if you fall in icy water, and make sure to wrap up warm at night. Don't forget to eat and drink. Disable fast travel. All these things help make the story better IMO. The game becomes about the journey, not how you managed to kill that dragon. "The Hobbit" was a good book because of the journey. The overall plot isn't that far from Skyrim's (go and kill the bad dragon) but it is a literary classic because of how they got to the Lonely Mountain. Skyrim can be the same.

Unable to acces new land in Dawnguard
Blackraptor31 replied to vinh834's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
did you follow the quest marker through the cave by riften? -
Ok, I'd just like to add that I bought dawnguard for the 360 back when that came out over a month ago. It was totally worth it. It's not just the extended story (which you may find it to be better than the main quest in terms of plot and characters) but also the changes they've done for werewolves and vampires. IMO the changes they made are better than any of the mods for vampires or werewolves. I may even get it for PC, but I'm going to wait a while and check the comments for my favourite mods waiting to see if dawnguard is compatible first.

You could use the console to add all the relevant perks and items etc.

how do i download mods and persuade steam to accept them
Blackraptor31 replied to scrapwood's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Download and use the NMM. Last week I hadn't even bought skyrim for PC and had never modded a game before. Now I have over 20 mods installed and working correctly. It practically does everything for you. -
sneaky assassin builds are by far the best. Once you've gotten the DB gloves and a half decent dagger you'll be one hitting most enemies even with a low 1h skill (since it only levels per hit and you only hit enemies once so it levels really slowly). With sneak lvl 100 and all the perks, simply crouching and attacking guarantees a 30x sneak attack crit from the front of enemies in broad daylight. Back it up with archery for things far away/flying around and the game is a walk in the park on master. Frankly, the vannila game is broken with regards to skills and combat. Use ACE mod to balance the different styles of play and stop the game breaking enchanting and alchemy combos.

Is it possible to enchant custom armour using the console? For example I've got a set of modded dark brotherhood armour, but it isn't very good without the awesome double sneak attack enchantment for the gloves. Obviously this isn't a spell you can disenchant and therefore learn through normal means so I can't add it that way. Trying to use playerenchantobject doesn't seem to work either as the console can't seem to recognise the object ID for the modded armour. Can anybody help me?

Is there any way to fix daggers clipping through your character's thigh when crouching? It's really irritating for stealthy assasin builds imo
