  1. Tried to donate to LordOfWar through the Nexus profile. It says the PP is not set up to accept any. Anyone got any idea?
  2. Now imagine yourself in a room with a lot of people. You make a request, "if anyone agrees with me, speak up." Then people who disagree with you started speaking up one after another instead. That would be annoying but that would still okay. If they start yelling and "and anyone who agrees with him does not have a shred of respect!" That's when it becomes antagonistic towards the speaker. It's not an interpretation of what "sharing" is but a difference between the definition of "sharing" and "distributing". You can't just use the words interchangeably. There is a difference between sharing and distributing. If I have a newspaper and I meet someone random in a coffee shop, end up striking a conversation, end up having a lot in common and hit off. If he had asked me for the newspaper and I hand it to him. That's sharing. If I stand on the side street and start handing out newspaper to anyone who asked for it, that's called distribution. He said to share between friends but do not upload it to a public site. Uploading to a public site means it gets distributed to anyone and everyone. The difference is, when it comes to something specific as goods, when you don't care who you "share" it to, it becomes a "distribution". If you had messaged me and become my friend, it will come down to you to decide if I'm a real friend or not as time goes on. Even if we had become friends and you still decided that you won't share, that's fine too. If we stop being friends because of that, it would show the true nature of the friendship. In fact, after I had gotten the mod from the Russian website, I only wanted a screen shot of all the files that were in the mod so I can compare it with the one I got and make sure there is nothing "extra". You would have find that out if you had tried instead of immediately assuming that everyone who asks for the mod has malicious intent. As for the disservice, I said it's an opinion but the reason that is my opinion for the simple fact that I want everyone to know how awesome of a modder LordOfWar is. By preventing others from enjoying his mod without even trying to understand their true intentions and on top of that, dissuading others by making negative comments, you inadvertently stop people from knowing how awesome he is. You can't know how awesome an author is without reading his book. By preventing people from reading his book, you prevent others from knowing that. If the author only wishes his book to be "shared" and not "distributed" then what's wrong with finding the people who will abide by the author's wishes? Then again, it's just an opinion.
  3. Yea, you probably should have just stayed out of it. As cliche as it sounds, don't cry witch if you don't even know me. Especially if your claims for my intent don't even make sense. It's stupid that I have to defend myself to this extent when I have what I want and I only wanted to the author to hit me up on how to support him but I feel that I must because I'm new here and I do want to make friends but it's a bit harder to do when someone cries witch when it doesn't even make sense. I'm gonna try not to judge you as you have judged me but at least make some sense before you open your mouth. If I'm fake or insincere about my offer and I'm just saying it to get what I want, why the f*** would I still donate to him if I already have what I want? How am I, "holding a donation as a means of trying to get a mod author to do what you want", if I said the offer is still up for friendship and donation after I got what I want? If it was purely out of self-interest, what do I hope to gain by donating after I got the goods I want? I said I'm new to FO4 and here on Nexus. So thank you for pointing out that there is a way to donate to him through Nexus. I thought that it's some external link to PP or Patreon that's on his mod site which has been removed. Which is why I posted for him to message me on how or anyone for that matter. "You don't have to like it but you do have to accept that the answer is no." Have I tried to convince anyone to do otherwise after they said no? The fact that I haven't means I have accepted the answer as a no. Your answer is no but do you speak on behalf of everyone on the Nexus? Yes, I did quote L0rd0fWar but that is to show anyone who may be misinformed as to the wishes of the author. Your version of how friendships are made is not the only criteria. I stated my intent clear from the get go. That may be seem awkward to you but for me, I prefer cards to be laid on the table from the get go. I never stated the conditions of the friendship, only the intent. Meaning lets be friends THEN share. I never said anyone has to share with me in order for me to be friends with them. It's not a condition but an intent. Now that I have the mod, I'm in a position to share it. If someone came to me with this, I would make friends with them. Does it mean I have to share immediately? No. They have to pass my definition of a friend and I have to trust them enough to accept the wishes of the author. Only then will I share. If I don't then I will not share. If they stop being my friend then that shows their true intent.
  4. My post wasn't aimed at you in particular, just a general response to those who can't seem to accept the fact that the mod isn't available and keep asking about it. I imagine the mod author gets a lot of messages from people asking him to share it privately (and he likely also gets contacted by those who berate and harass him unknowingly or not) Thankfully the o.p. of the thread that my post originates from understood the point I was making. Its a shame that a lot of people won't get to use the mod considering just how good it is, but the blame lies squarely at those entitled ones who trampled on the mod authors control of his own creation and attempted to circumvent his ability to do that for their own selfish reasons. But you do understand what you're doing here right? You responded with quoting yourself, saying that anyone who shares the mod does not have a shred of respect for the author after I just quoted the author of the mod saying he's cool with it. So not only is your response incorrect, you could be dissuading anyone who might be willing to share, especially to someone who is willing to make some sort of contribution to the author instead of just getting it for free. Coming from an author of another kind, in my opinion, you're more likely doing a disservice to the author than helping. I'll leave it at that as I used the mod from the Russian site after extensively scanning the f*** out of it. @L0rd0fWar Since you responded to this thread, you might end up reading this at some point. Got your mod from the Russian site. Looks awesome man. Despite getting it from a less reputable source, offer is still up for the friendship and donation. Send me a message if you want. Also I'm sure you heard this before but you should get back into the game man. I'm not stranger to other people stealing my work and claiming it to be theirs, although it's in another form of art. s*** happens, strike back by making something even better. s***, I wouldn't be surprised if the people who stole your s*** are your competitors tryna kick you out of the game since you're that good because let's be honest, although these mods are free, they can pave the way to that dream job or something. Good luck!
  5. if you used their tools and assets that would be right and even though not in most cases, but in case like adding new meshes and textures to the game it's different story. in the matter of fact the only tools that i am thankful for are 3ds max nif plugin and FO4edit, i noticed that the majority doesn't have a clue about character design process, i will try to make it simple by comparing it to the way the developer create their assets it's almost similar except it's much harder since i am working alone and without proper import/export tools. i was hesitating to share my work at first, i was afraid that a scenario like that would happen or worse, companies knows how to defend themselves unlike individuals they are vulnerable. @onelunglee, Bethesda did manage the situation very poorly, but i don't hate them. after all they made us some good games, but also people should bare in mind that mods extend the game life for free. You know what? Hey Mr. L0rd0fWar, I want your Rebel Armor outfit. Wanna be friends and share it with me? Seriously, that was some legit work. I can help you and support you with your work whenever I can. I have the Autodesk Building and Design Suite for 2017. It includes 3D MAX. I haven't installed it yet since I haven't had a need for it for work but I can install it and help you out whenever I can if there is anything I can help you out with. You might even be the guy to help me get into modding myself since your work is that good. Letting me enjoy your mod for my game will just be how we became friends. Hit me up and we can get to know each other.
  6. It was me. No need hide but dang man if your friends would do that, that'd be brutal. =/
  7. Well I do have respect for the author. As you can see, I even quoted the author's post replying to someone else about him being okay to share it between people as long as it's not uploaded to a "public site". Out in the open where he can see it instead of all shady-like. Not only that but in exchange for friendship (being serious about making friends), I am more than willing to support the author for all the work that hes done in the form of a donation. Despite the fact that he has stated that he's done with the public modding scene. I actually have the mods downloaded from two sources. One from that Russian website. Compared both and it seems they both have the same files and nothing "extra" That being said, I'd still rather take less of a risk (in my opinion) by getting it from someone that I initiated. At least this way, I make a friend, support the author and take less of a risk.
  8. I'm new to Fallout 4. Anyone want to be my friend and privately share the Rebel Armor mod with me? I really like how the mod looks. Willing to donate to L0rd0fWar modding efforts for the trouble! Worried about downloading from other sites. My computer is not just my recreational machine but also my livelihood as I work as a 3D draftsman for an architecture company.
