  1. I think NSA is here already. There seems to be an awful lot of Bing & Google users and some invisible ones also. Right now, it shows 2 members and 7 guests. Me and Bing (2). So, who are the other six? Yep, I know, hence why I say give people a reminder... you'd be surprised what does show up as what it actually is with a reasonable stat service (not this forum user monitor we can see), used to run a blog and had a good few hits from US miltary bases etc who you might have expected to mask who they were just as a matter of basic security rather than because they're up to no good. Guests is usually just regular people who don't have a logon though.
  2. Considering making a logon called the "TheNSA" and leaving it logged on with every forum page open, just to remind everyone.
  3. It's okay I'm not going to really. I couldn't afford it. :D
  4. I'm on 7 it runs for me. I mean it has a habit of CTD'ing, but it's Bethesda I expect that. I have half a recollection I maybe had to tweak a couple of things before playing, but again it's Bethesda.... I was bit disappointed though. I also played New Vegas to death first, and had read a lot of people saying 3 was better, but I didn't enjoy it anywhere near as much. Not saying it's not worth getting, just I was a bit disappointed with it compared to how much fun I had with NV.
  5. Mine's a dumbass too, but less dangerous. Spent an hour yesterday arguing with her because she's got people in her facebook friends that she claims she "never added, not even accidentally". Every single one of them are people she knows in real life, most of them are people I'd call her friends. She just would not accept that she had done it. I tried everything from patiently explaining how friend requests work, resorting to sarcastically explaining how people are well known for hacking other people's facebook accounts so they can maliciously accept friend requests from the account holder's actual real life friends, even going through the activity logs and finding the individual dates she added all these people. She STILL doesn't believe me that she did it. I'm planning on having my folks put in a residential care home as soon as humanly possible. More for my sanity than their protection.
  6. You liked her then? I can't speak of your domestic politics or about her personally because I don't follow it enough to have an opinion, but all I as a Brit will remember her for is not curtsying for the Anachronistic Parasite Queen. We republicans might be a minority, but I wasn't the only Brit who had a beer with a smile on my face to celebrate that (and our press' predictably hysterical reaction to it).
  7. Since this is often the place for bad news and problems, I'll just dump this here ;) A good friend of the family took his own life in the early hours of yesterday morning. We're all doing ok. No sympathy asked for here or required. No discussion of the rights and wrongs asked for here or required. Just want to remind you all, not that you need reminding I'm sure, to treat those you're close to as being as precious as they are, because you never know when they won't be here any more. It's no huge epiphany, it's no world changing philosophy, it's just a gentle nudge. Do something good for someone you care about for no apparent reason. A little more light in the world never goes amiss.
  8. I can offer you no kittens by way of compensation, but here's my little man Shenanigans, he always cheers me up (he's always happy because he has two penises. Well, technically it's one split in two but they can be used independently which is basically the same as having two): http://i39.tinypic.com/apab2b.jpg And with that, goodnight.
  9. Yep, in Microsoft's case, as perverse as it may sound they have a vested interest in destroying PC gaming: At the minute, probably 90%+ of people you know own a PC of some kind, and the majority of them (unless you know a lot of Apple hipsters or Linux beards) will have paid for a copy of Windows, probably also a copy of Office. This is profitable for Microsoft. A lot of people also own a console. Many of them will be an Xbox. If Microsoft allow a level playing field between PC and Xbox then there is less reason to buy an Xbox in the first place: it gets closer to the point where you might as well just spend what you would have spent on the new Xbone adding to your PC budget for the next time you replace or upgrade it (especially when you consider the price of an Xbone is about the same as a very high end GPU). Microsoft make nada from that extra PC spend. If you game on a PC, Microsoft only make money on your OS and their own game sales. If you game on an Xbone, unless you either don't get a PC at all or go Apple/Linux then Microsoft makes money on your OS, their game sales, the Xbone itself AND Xbone Live subscriptions. They know that your Xbone is NOT going to replace your PC, and they know that your PC COULD replace your Xbone. If they allow a level playing field they screw themselves, so they will continue to advantage the Xbone any way they can. Why sell you one thing that can do both jobs when they can sell you two that both do similar things?
  10. Well, when my wife does that, it's usually followed by the sentence "Right here, right now!" after which I obey and we often destroy furniture. Note: I once bet against her, I told her I don't think she can push a silicone tube all the way down her throat. I lost the bet, and once I came home, I measured the tube - 32.3cm long, 4.7cm wide. :woot: And that's why I started dating her. And they say romance is dead.
  11. How would you create your own nation then? Multiple choice attempted humorous internet post: (CHOICE A) 1. Declare independence 2. ??? 3. Profit (CHOICE B) With truth, justice and pancakes for all. (CHOICE C) In my own image.
  12. This is the People's Republic of Nexus. We will suffer no dictatorship. Also, any alleged monarch participating in or abiding by a public vote has destroyed their own claim to rule by divine right. You can't validate a claim by methods which are the antithesis of it's basis. So there. :p
  13. This is rapidly degenerating into a youtube comment thread, albeit with better spelling. Is this what happens when I let you all play unsupervised?
  14. Opposite advice to Ironman. Hard as it is, stop reacting so much to it. Control your temper, respond only when absolutely necessary and in the calmest most logical way possible. If reacting so much to it hasn't eased the situation any then try the reverse. He knows what your response is likely to be at the minute and this clearly isn't stopping him, I'd argue he's actually seeking a strong visceral response. He says you are favouriting against him, and this at a time when you and your family's focus is naturally and rightly elsewhere: he's at least partially attention seeking. Interesting you say "tantrums" if he was younger and having "tantrums" stop responding to them would be pretty standard advice. Either way, with both the stressful specifics of your situation, and his age, don't expect miracles or anything to have a huge impact in the short run. Time will do the most work. Just so you know I wasn't offering advice, to be honest no one functions like I do and I wouldn't recommend following my example I was just offering an example. Anyway when your around 20 and your brother is 18 I don't think ignoring his temper would be a good idea as he could get aggressive and that way he gets away with it. Not on my watch! No worries, sorry if I misconstrued... And it's always a bit different between brothers than a parent/child anyway isn't it? Even in today's "no physical discipline" world most siblings I know get on better after they've spent years knocking lumps out of each other physically and emotionally... most people who have that kinda relationship with a parent though, different story...
