  1. I'm using Mod Organizer. Textures are set to High in the Skyrim launcher, I've got Optimized Vanilla Textures (High Definition version) installed (though the vanilla HD DLC wasn't any different), and current mountainslab01 and mountainslab02 textures are from Vivid Landscapes. I did check conflicts to see if anything looked remotely like it would provide these textures, but I haven't figured out what could be causing them yet. Edit: Well, I figured out one part of the problem. The .nif files were coming from SMIM. The textures still look bad but not quite as bad now that it's been rearranged to NOT overwrite mountain meshes.
  2. I've decided to try making Skyrim (original 2011 version) look as great as possible while still being playable, so I've been downloading a bunch of texture mods. But... no matter how many rock-and-mountain and/or snow textures I download and try, no matter how many landscape overhauls, I (imgur.com/3Q1s3kF) CAN (imgur.com/3MBcbxx) NOT (imgur.com/Ry0M5TO) get those dratted mountains outside of Riverwood looking like something other than pixellated blobs up close. I feel like I should be able to solve this with a google search, but I'm not actually sure WHAT to google, or even if this is the right forum to ask this, but... what sort of mods might solve this problem? Is it a specific texture that isn't included in the mods I've tried (Superior Rock Textures, Northfire's Photoreal mountains, various landscape overhauls including mountains), or should I try higher-resolution textures, or... help, please?
  3. Thanks! I wondered about that, but didn't have anything but vanilla-enchanted items in my inventory, so I passed over it at first. Ah well, it's probably a bug from too many mods. I'll enjoy the fellow while he lasts, I suppose. Edit: He actually went away when I deactivated Summermyst. Culprit found!
  4. Not sure if this is the place to post this, but... well. Here's the story: I'm in Embershard Mine at Level 14, looking for Runil's journal since the radiant quest put it there. I open the boss chest, grab the generic vanilla loot along with Runil's journal, and suddenly... this guy shows up. http://imgur.com/a/5rew3 He has no talk option whatsoever - not even a name comes up when I put him in my crosshairs. I try clicking on him in the console, hoping to figure out what mod adds him, and the code I get is ff0010e1. According to Google, this is a dynamically allocated FormID, and tells me absolutely nothing about what mod he's from. He follows me everywhere and fights for me, like some sort of summon, but he's been showing no signs of going away after a few in-game days of playing - which may have to do with the magic-altering mods I have installed, sure, but that wouldn't explain the fact that I never summoned him in the first place, or the fact that he seems to be treated as essential (he'll go down on one knee to recover health). He uses the vanilla enemy ghost voice ("Does someone live among the dead?"), and the subtitles call him the Wraith-King, which is the most information about him I've found on my own. I haven't had much success figuring out why he's here or where he comes from. That's not to say I want to get rid of him; he's kind of grown on me, to be honest, but I'd REALLY like to know what mod he's from, how I got him in the first place, if there's some hidden quest I managed to start without knowing, and if he's going to disappear as suddenly as he appeared. And maybe if it's safe to use Immersive AFT on him to make him a more manageable follower (I don't even have a "wait" function for him right now, after all), though I might just see about the latter using good ol' fashioned experimentation. Short of looking through every mod in TESVEdit I've got, I'm hoping that somebody recognizes this guy and knows what mod he's from so I can look up more about him. I'll include my messy, lengthy load order below in case someone feels like sorting through it. (Before more experienced modders ask: no, I don't know what I'm doing; sure, I should've made a bashed patch to cut down on the number of mods here; yes, all those cheat/overpowered mods are because I am a filthy casual; and I'd agree, I am definitely not trying to stay lore friendly. Hush. I'm too lazy to mess with it more if it's working, and I'm having fun.) I'm not sure if this is a long shot or not, but it's worth a try - I'm really curious.
