  1. Ok, thank you. I will change the title. EDIT:It seems that changing the title is not possible:
  2. I played Skyrim for one or two weeks, when suddenly the loading times for quicktraveling, loading a savegame or entering "Skyrim" from a dungeon were about 8 times as high as usual. Sometimes I had to exit the game via the task manager because it loaded for 2 hours already without continueing. Now the strange thing comes in. I found a way to fix the problem: I loaded a savegame I waited for a few seconds on the loading screen I pressed CTRL-ALT-DEL I started the taskmanager I waited a few seconds again The windows cursor disappeared It switched automatically to Skyrim The game has finished loading(after half a minute!) It seems that it takes only a few seconds to load but than the loading screen doesn't go away. The above workaround works always, but sometimes the windows cursor is still there ingame, which is very annoying. So, is there a way to fix this long loading bug without using the above method? My Specs: AMD Athlon X2 64 ATI Radeon HD Mobility 4500/5100 Series Windows Vista 32 Latest drivers Mods: Static Mesh Improvement Mod Midas Magic Settings: Everything on low, except Textures=middle
  3. Well, a few posts above, someone mentioned a save game which constantly crashes. Send it to bethesda! And another thing, the beta patch 1.4.26 is out. Has anyone tried it already? They say they fixed some crashes on pc.
  4. I'm experiencing this crash and want to try playing an earlier version of skyrim. So how do I remove patch 1.4?
  5. Well, unfortunately, this does not work for me... I also tried KurianOfBorgs advice here, neither of them works. Now my last chance is to go back to patch 1.3 or waiting for bethesda to fix this.
  6. Quote: Delete all but your most recent autosave.ess.bak I have no autosave.ess.bak, just some autosave.ess
  7. Hi. I want to uninstall Skyrim and reinstall it, because of some problems. Now I have a few questions: How do I uninstall it? Is there a uninstall.exe? After uninstalling, do I have to download the whole game through Steam or can I install it from the CD again? Can I resume playing from my old saves by making a backup now and then place them in the saves folder of the fresh install?
  8. Hello guys, I'm just posting because I noticed something interesting: I was playing Skyrim, trying out the autosave fix gjm777 mentioned - and crashed again. After switching my computer back on, I went into Steam because I wanted to uninstall Skyrim but then I opened Firefox and watched a video. After about four minutes the screen suddenly went black. The sound of the video stopped a few seconds later. It was the exact procedure that we all know from Skyrims Black Screen Crash. I closed my laptop to go into Stand By Mode and opened it again. Windows continued and I also continued watching my video. But after two minutes, it crashed again!(Steam was still running at this time) I did the same as before, but then closed Steam. After that, I could watch the video without any special events, and nothing happened until now as I am writing this. So I think Steam could be a possible root of this problem. I remember a forum topic where a lot of people got rid of their crashes by running the game without Steam. Unfortunately, this is not possible anymore... However, the strange thing about this is that I never experienced any kind of crash just because of running Steam. I have no idea what could have caused that. I would be glad if this post helps someone to fix this really annoying problem.
  9. I'm pretty sure my card is not overheating, because I don't notice any unusual noise or temperature. And...well I have a laptop so I never cleaned anything up to now.
  10. Since I started the game, I couldn't enjoy it because I'm experiencing the so called "Black Screen Crash". That means: The screen suddenly turns black. The sound goes on for a few seconds, then it stops. The computer doesn't respond to any key commands, not even CTRL-ALT-DEL. I have to manually shut it down, by holding the "ON" button. The crash happens completely random in the game, sometimes after one hour, sometimes after 20 minutes. My specs are: OS: Windows Vista RAM: 4 GB CPU: AMD Athlon X2 Dual Core QL-65 (Griffin) with 2100 MHz GPU: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500/5100 with 512 MB RAM I'm running Skyrim with quite low settings, I just have the fade out distance pretty high. Things I've already tried: ENB Performance Patch atiumdag.dll (Read the description) Updating my drivers Playing with lower settings Running as administrator Checking the Skyrim folder for missing files Additional Notes: Skyrim is the only game I have troubles with. I have "AMD VISION Engine Control Center". I don't notice any PC overheating during the crash Since a short time I get a message: "Failed to enumerate subscribed Files!" In the launcher. I have the following mods: ENB Performance UnderTows Alcohol Effects Realistic Colors If you need more information, ask.
