Easiest way to grind Enchanting is to get the Black Star. Just ask barkeeps in Whiterun for rumours and you'll get the Azura's Shrine quest soon enough, head there and do the quest. Also, try and find a weapon that has Soul Trap enchanted on it, Disenchant it, then re-enchant it with a 1 second duration on your primary weapon. The 1 second duration means even using a petty soul will give it around 100 charges or so and any kills made by the weapon will trap the soul. Combined with the black star, you can kill a bandit, open items, charge your soul stealer, then kill another bandit, and repeat. I would also suggest getting Acquisitive Soul gems, since it fixes the Black Star and Black Gems to only hold Black Souls and also prevents you using lesser souls to grind like a naughty 'sploiter!

Anyone feel like making this? The costs for Inns and Carts is pretty low. Ridiculously so. I'd love a mod that made it scale with the player level. Basically, I want all the inn and cart ride prices to be multiplied by your level. If you wanna stay at the bee and barb at level 50 for example, it'll cost ya 500 cold matey!

is there a way to see how long is left till a major power is usable again? Or does it just reset at midnight or what?

LE Mod that removes weapon restiction of specific weapon perks
BaconCat replied to leyasu's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
That's just, like, your opinion man! Does it matter? If he wants it, let him have it. You still need to use 9 perk points after all, and you won't have 6 "wasted" levels anymore. Personally, I'm not gonna use it. -shrug- Whatever/ -
Is there a way to change the default skill shown when you open the skill menu for the first time in a session? I am playing a two handed orc berserker, so I really don't need to be opening to destruction every time. A insignificant problem I know, but would be nice to have a solution.

LE Mod that removes weapon restiction of specific weapon perks
BaconCat replied to leyasu's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Not seen that myself, but I am in a nice mood, so I'll crank one out quickly that allows each one handed perk to affect Swords, Maces, Axes and Daggers and allows each 2 handed Perk to allow Greataxes, Warhammers and Greadswords. No need to allow other unrelated weapons to benefit now is there. :P -
I am pretty sure that the faster hour ticking can't really be done without screwing something up, as the game has to calculate the effects of time on the entire world. There already is a mod to allow you to wait 48 hours however: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=3183

What are your top 5 must have mods?
BaconCat replied to SergeantGrrock's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Assuming SKSE is given automatically: 1) SkyUI 2) Complete Crafting Overhaul 3) Weapon and Armour Fixes 4) Better Sorting 5) Smithing Perks Overhaul -
I know about the advantages and disadvantages of each, I just want to know the damage output. If it's somewhat similar or only slightly higher, I won't bother because the DPS will be lower. I like to have fun, but it's no fun to intentionally cripple yourself. :) So, did some testing (yay console). It seems at 100 Skill with all perks, a Daedric Sword does 42 Damage, and a Battleaxe does 75 Damage. Since you can get the perks that make dual attacks 30% faster, I'd assume that Dual Wielding > Two Handed > One Handed since Blocking is a joke anyway.
-
What kind of difference is there between top level Two Handed and One Handed when perks are factored in? The base damage differs by 10 points it seems (Comparing Daedric items 15 for Sword and 25 for Battleaxe) but what's it like when everything is factored in? Is there like a character builder program floating about to look this stuff up? Just asking because if the damage difference isn't all that great I'll go one handed as it's more convenient.

The nightingale bow is great even without the enchantment, so long as you upgrade it. If you dont, I guess an ebony bow would be fine. As for the damage, I have +40% Archery on everything I can get it on. :P
-
Never had any of those issues, so I'll pass I guess. xD
-
So, I've pretty much spanked Skyrim to Oblivion and back with my Archery/Enchanting Khajiit Rouge, Firing off unlimited Fireballs and Unlimited Charge Bows that do 300 Damage + 70 Frost + 70 Fire, and I am wondering what I can do this time around. I was thinking perhaps a Orc 2 Hander, but Sneak Attacks are just too efficient, not to mention the usefulness of Clairvoyance making 2 handed kind of a pain.
-
is there any way to remove this? I hate it cluttering up my journal. :(
-
Nightingale Bow. Period. Even if you just stick with the Vanilla one and don't have a mod to craft a custom enchanted version, it's pretty bad ass if you take the time to improve it. ATM my one does over 300 damage per hit, plus another 50 Fire and Another 50 Shock. (100 Smithing + 100 Enchanting is awesome :P) I can pretty much one shot anything that isn't a Dragon

I keep accidently selling my fav weapons and having to reload or dropping them in the middle of a battle. :(

LE Request: Prevent Favourite items from being dropped/sold
BaconCat posted a topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
So, I cannot count the number of times I have accidently dropped my SuperSpecialBow when trying to charge it in the middle of a fight, or sold my SuperSpecialAxeOfDoomyDoom, forcing me to reload because Skyrim doesn't have a buyback option for some unknowing reason. However, it should keep the weight of the item, so you can't just make them quest items. -
Currently, the Black Star is as broken as it can get. Rather than being a reusable Black Soul Gem that only houses Black souls, it's a reusable Black Soul Gem. Not only does this s*** all over the lore of the item, but it's also a pretty big mechanical change as well as a major annoyance to have to use it if you fill it with a mudcrab soul and losing a grand soul if you forget. From what I can tell in my (limited) use of the CK, you'd need some sort of script that triggers whenever the player kills something that checks what type of soul it has and if it's less than grand, flush it.

LE Make $10 :P Multiple Ring Slots and No Dragon General Subtitles
BaconCat replied to BaconCat's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Multiple ring already exist:http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1952 The other i don't understand what u mean! Unlimited =/= as Two. :P The other one, what I mean is, for example, when you are fighting Dragons, you'll occasionally have subtitles whenever the dragon shouts at you. Those are really immersion breaking imo. -
I've offered money for these mods, but if they already exist, I would be much obliged if someone could point me to them!

LE Make $10 :P Multiple Ring Slots and No Dragon General Subtitles
BaconCat replied to BaconCat's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Anyone? :( -
Dude, it's because they had to dedicate 2/3 of their Dev team to make it work for Failbox and CrapStation. On the plus side, it leaves it to the Community Modmakes (aka Actual Competent people.)

So, who wants to make five dollars for beard dirt?</Cave Johnson> Seriously though, These are two mods I really, Really want (and I am sure a lot of others do) so I am willing to pay a whole 5 Dollars to whoever can do it (and upload to the nexus of course :P), since the CK makes my eyes bleed cause I am the dumb/. First: Two Ring Slots. Even D&D lets you put one on each hand, so why not Skyrim? :P Second: Remove the General Subtitles for Dragons. While it's nice to see it for people you can really understand, having it for Dragons is just silly and Immersion breaking. First person to upload a working version these to the Nexus (NOT THE STEAM WORKSHOP) with Link gets $5 per mod via Paypal! :P Or TF2 Items, or Steam Games. Giving me the $5 is always an option too. :P
