  1. Actually reinstalled the mod, works now. Not sure if it was because of faulty folder structure or wasn't set to active file (which it WAS when prompted to) but in any case
  2. The other week I asked about creating a chroma key room in the CK, well a very helpful gentleman did just that for me which can be seen here http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11814 The problem is I opened it up in the CK, the render window looks fine, green as it should be. When I load it up in Skyrim I go to the console and do "coc greenscreen" When it loads I am in a sea of blueish nothingness and my Dovah is in freefall. I asked mgbeach (creator of the green screen mod map) and he wondered if I had done something with the cocheadingmarker I checked and not only had I not touched anything let alone the blue heading marker, I can't even save changes to the greenscreen.esp file (something to do with it being the active file maybe?) I figure I'm the one doing something wrong here and I am new at the CK, but nothing is adding up. Secondary help question, how does one even save out a map file? Since I couldn't save changes to the greenscreen.esp file itself I would make other ones when I added objects, say "green.esp" when I go "coc green" nothing happens. Am I saving it out wrong? I tried explaining everything I'm doing every step of the way but I can always screencap too if need be
  3. Dude I could kiss you on the lips! Instead I will simply say thank you. I will likely post my video in one of the Skyrim subforums to show results once I'm finished. You mentioned a similar map, I assume you mean this one http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11794 Kudos to him too but yours doesn't have the shadow spill and hot spots
  4. This is probably the answer I was looking for, and I thank thee. I wanted to get a custom barter dialogue tree from a merchant and menu too so I will probably make an invisible merchant. Again sounds stupid but that's filmmaking for you, hiding the smoke and mirrors
  5. Before you judge my seemingly roundabout methods, I would like to preface this by saying I've tried looking for relevant info, and asking multiple forums, to no avail. So here's what I'm trying to achieve: I want to build a series of walls with flat colored green to mimic a green screen room like so http://greenscreenbackdrops.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/Studio-2-Green-Screen.jpg The reason behind this is I'm going to record the footage in Fraps and then take into a program like Adobe After Effects to key out the green. I want to pull the UI and menu elements and the green will help make my job that much easier, especially when it comes to the Inventory and Barter menus which have translucency. "Why on earth would you do that alsmithee?!?" you are probably asking yourself. "Wouldn't it be easier to pull the assets directly from the flash files?" Yeah it would, and since you are about to school me on how to do just that I thank you very very much and also where the hell were you last week? I haven't delved too deep but I don't know if there's a way to do a monochrome texture on a room wall. The Creation Kit seems to have some flat colors for bounding boxes but that's for the CK editor and not renderable as far as I can tell. I figure maybe this is some custom texture you might have to import? If anyone has ideas I'm all ears.
  6. I'm trying to extract the UI/HUD and menu graphics from Skyrim for use in a video I shot (live action footage, the graphics would be overlaid on top). I know the files in question that I seek are apparently contained within the Skyrim .BSA files. Following directions taken from this site I extracted them using one the Fallout managers (FOV I believe) and did extract all on everything in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\Interface folder I figured I was home free at this point but when I opened the .SWF files such as inventorymenu.swf in Adobe Flash, nothing comes up. As in a window pops up and nothing is there. I dled a Nexus file of the .FLA versions but opening that isn't much more help. I installed Scaleform through the UDK as well but while some more stuff seemed to appear, a lot of it is still missing and won't show up when I open in Adobe Flash. Is there some way I can extract even just the graphical elements? Thanks ahead.

I also installed SWiX and tried it with that, but all that comes up is code I don't know how to read and when it compiles again nothing plays on the screen. I know I must be missing something but I'm a noob at the modding scene, so I'm hoping someone can help point me in the right direction. My intention is to get the graphics into a program like Final Cut with alpha channels, or barring that, into a program like After Effects or Flash where I can key it out to where I have alpha channels Thanks ahead.
  8. This isn't for a mod per se, but I figured if anyone knew the answer it'd be Skyrim modders. I am making a youtube video with live action footage but wanted to pull assets from the Skyrim UI graphics and menus to overlay onto it. Originally I thought I might have to record footage and then mask out what I wanted but I figured the assets are all there in the Skyrim folder right? I don't know if it's usable though, someone told me they were in .flv format any advice for getting assets into something like Photoshop or After Effects?
