  1. Thank you all so much! There's some great information here. I will use AFT instead of UFO. EFF looks really good but AFT has a couple features I like. I'm definitely going to follow STEP. I'm surprised that I hadn't heard about it before. That definitely seems like the best place to start. I wasn't really set on ENBs and I'd rather have reliable graphics than marginally prettier ones. Thanks for the note on the limits of Skyrim engine; that hadn't occurred to me. I still have all of my old saves, which are probably advanced enough to push the limits. I'm going with SkyRe after your endorsement. I was on the fence about it. I want a total overhaul, not just a fluffed-up vanilla. Enchanced Lights and FX seems like the only real lighting option. I'm a little surprised it isn't in STEP. Looks good. Dynamic Things is definitely a good idea, thanks for that.
  2. I'm looking for mod lists and recommendations. This post is partially for my own benefit as I will refer to it later when I'm installing everything. Background When Skyrim came out, I played the whole thing start to finish. I completed every non-radiant quest, and I hauled half of Tamriel into my house. I clocked out around 200 hours. My only addons were Sky UI and ThuuMic. I own all official expansions but have not played them yet. I have extensive experience installing mods in other games. I am a professional software developer and am comfortable jumping through hoops to get the game to run. Stuff I'm probably adding This is my starting point: http://www.reddit.com/r/skyrim/comments/1ikhrs/the_list_of_the_best_must_have_mods_for_skyrim/ I intend to install every mod in that list unless someone recommends otherwise (only one ENB obviously). This includes, beyond a standard patching, visual effects, and realism spread: Apocalypse Spells Achieve That Frostfall (will turn WEAR on) Realistic Needs and Diseases (not on the list) Hunterborn (not on the list) Wearable Lanterns Bandolier Cloaks of Skyrim UFO + several of the best follower mods Convenient Horses SkyVoice (not on the list) The Paarthurnax Dilemma (not on the list) Requested Suggestions I haven't decided on an overhaul mod, but I do want one. Ace, SkyRe, Requiem, and ERSO all look good, but I'm not sure which to get (or something else?) I'd prefer a skill system that I could eventually max everything out and play with a variety of styles across my career, all on the same character. And I definitely want a racial overhaul mod that makes Nords less, well, pathetic. I'm not being a fancy Breton again. Compatability is obviously a concern here. I would like to add a large variety of new systems to the game (thus the emphasis on survival mods). Anything that elegantly adds entirely new systems to the game is priority. Realistic Needs along with Hunterborn and Frostfall are a great example of this, but so is the achievement mod. I'm leaning toward using Hearthfire for my housing. I will consider other suggestions, but only if they add a new dynamic to the game. I need new places to visit. Falskaar and Helgen Reborn are both highly recommended. Any other mods in that vein? I'm planning on using ENB. Good? I own a Naga and Nostromo (gaming mouse and keyboard). I would like a mod that helps me get full use of them. Specifically, I'd like to increase the number of shortcuts to twelve. Currently I'm considering "More Hotkeys, Please" but I found that by searching for "hotkey" so there's probably a better one. Any other useful information would be appreciated. Thanks!
