  1. Much appreciated. No idea how that didn't show up when I was poking around for NET related issues, but all I had to do was run the command prompt lines for permissions and it appears everything is working now.
  2. Vortex Version: 1.9.5.0 (Update failing- possibly related?) Games Managed: Skyrim SE, Fallout: New Vegas Game Source: Steam OS: Windows 10, Standard, x64 Mod Load: 70~ It's been a while since I've touched Skyrim or Vortex, and since then I've done some pretty intensive system upgrades. But I finally decided to try and get Skyrim working again after Bethesda's "latest and greatest" update. Most of my mods are texture/visual mods and were fine- yet I decided to touch up four that likely broke (one confirmed). Two are set up to use Vortex. So here we begin with Vortex unsurprisingly barking 5-6 errors at me, which is expected when you've not used something in about a year. I fixed all but two- and yet one prevents anything at all from happening. Anytime I start a file install, Vortex tells me I need to install NET desktop runtime. Instantly and without fail, locking Vortex from performing most actions. Except I've already got a newer version installed, ran the installer for the linked 6.0.28 in both x64 and x86 just to be very sure, confirmed they are installed with WISE uninstaller, and no other program is having any issue that I know has required some form of NET desktop runtime to work. This is isolated, and entirely on Vortex itself. Vortex also refuses to update- unsure this is entirely related, but apparently newer versions are available. I initially thought this was because I switched browsers to one that was Firefox based, which meant I had no default system browser. It's a Windows registry issue, and it is able to be fixed- but reinstalling Chrome was easier than messing with registry scripts. And re-installing Chrome to set a default browser did nothing. Vortex's attempts to repair bring up no window, and end fruitless. I don't really see what it would have to repair with fresh NET installs and the newer versions also being confirmed to be stable by their own installers, and by virtue of literally every other program I have running fine. I'm about to try full uninstalls and re-installs, namely for Vortex itself- but I'm not quite sure what its problem is. Nothing I run is unusual, and even after my system upgrades, I've been making sure to clean and organize. Nothing is pirated/cracked, and historically has been incredibly smooth in operation. I don't even really care about the update issue unless it's necessary for Vortex to do its job- which it did, but all I've gleaned from the internet so far is that there's a GitHub post from 2021 about NET errors that was a dead end. I'd appreciate any leads on a fix, or alternatives. I've looked at Wabbajack and MO2, but I don't think they do quite the same thing as Vortex. Attached below are some supporting clips. If there's logs that need uploaded, I'll hunt them down.
  3. This mod has been made. ArekkusuStorm has already taken care of packaging it.
  4. Thanks. I sent you the most recent file. You should have a .DDS from [email protected].
  5. Yes. I'm rather a novice, and followed all the steps, so it's was compressed as a .DDS as an edit of the vanilla version of Mark 2 Combat Armor, no model changes or anything. All it needs is a paired .ESP to execute it and placed in game, and I don't care where. You can choose. When your ready, tell me and I can post it or e-mail the file to you, whichever you want. Thanks for this. GECK really started to act brain dead when I was creating the .ESP myself and was bringing up things like the super mutant behemoth fire hydrant when I looked in NV armor, then it all fell apart... Bethesdas products don't hold very well. Thanks for your time.
  6. I know I'm new and this thread may not get much attention, but I figured I'd try. I made my first mod with GIMP, a simple retexture. Now you may be thinking: "Why is this guy asking for a mod he's already created?" Well, It's simple. I know how to make an .ESP with GECK, but I can't. GECK has seizures and stops working on my computer, and I've given up on it. I can't get it working. I already have a .DDS ready and compressed, but GECK won't even acknowledge that combat armor exists! So I need someone kind enough to package it, no image editing required, and upload it on nexus or somewhere else. If anyone is interested, the .DDS is 1.33 meg., so I'm unable to upload it, but can email it. If you even considered this, I thank you for your time.
  7. I'll keep this topic open but I'm going to solve the problem myself. Anyone is welcome to use this topic.
  8. I've had a similar problem. Hopefully what solved my problem will help. If you're running Skyrim on steam, verify the cache. I'd create a back-up of you're data first. For the cache, right click on Skyrim on your game library. Then click on properties, go to local files, and it's on the bottom. Hope this helps.
  9. I recently had to do an Acronis back-up due to a blue screen. I mostly have everything working, but the only problem I have is with Skyrim. The correct profiles are there, but my mod folder is from 2012 somehow. So, this would generate MAJOR problems since my mod folder has been almost completely changed. Luckily, on my flash drive, I have a back-up of my mods from the week before, but the BSAs and ESP, or anything that needs updated from steam in the folder is highly outdated, but in the 2012 folder is updated, but the mods aren't. I thought of copying the BSAs into the 2013 folder, and then deleting the 2012 folders content, and then dragging the 2013 content in. But I'm a little scared of unwanted side-effects. I've had problems in Skyrim before, and it isn't fun. Can anyone throw out some advice, please? Thank you for your time.
  10. I've seen several mods that need FNIS or OBSE to work, but both don't seem to function normally. I'm rather a Novice is the modding universe, but when I lauch/start the FNIS generator, it doesn't respond properlly, no pop-up appears. I'm not running any blockers. I'm not sure if I'm making a dumb mistake somewhere, but I was wondering if anyone could help. Thank you for your time. (On a side note, OBSE doesn't work either, I lauch it from my .exe launcher for oblivion, but it can't find it. If anyone could help with these two errors, I would appreciate it a lot!)
  11. Well... I've been looking for several Daedric Retextures... but none of the mods i've seen are nothing what i'm looking for. it turns the armor entirely green, white, or like a stainless-steel color. if it would be possible, I'd like someone to replace the red on daedric with green. It doesn't have to be fancy or anything, i'm just asking for a simple Forest green replacement for the red on Daedric armor and weapons. Thank you to anyone who will consider this. And if it's not too much trouble, please notify me if you make this.
