Welcome to the internet, FavoredSoul, I use your ultimate assortment mod, and I've been very pleased with it, remember that for each one of those people who complain or give you hate for not getting what they want from you, there are lots of other people who really enjoy your work. However, as this is internet, almost everything you post, do or say is subject to criticism, good or bad, constructive or destructive, but then again words are only that. If someone doesn't like your stuff, f*** it, do what you want to do with your stuff and only attend to what you consider important. My final comment is towards the point of getting monetary reward for your mods: Look I understand your point since mods take effort and time, but you have to understand that when you add money to the formula things must change because the hobbie must become a job/bussiness and as such people are going to demand more from you based on what they're paying and if you can't even take a few hate comments like a man now that there's no money involved, wait till you start charging people for your stuff. BTW I dont know if your current occupation is related to graphic design or videogames production in general but I do think that with your talent you could be dedicating to that as a formal carreer, so if you're not already into that, you should focus on it instead of those "evil comments from those poisonous people" that torment you so much because that gives a lot more revenue than you could have gotten from that infamous 25%.
  2. Thing is: Yes Mr Mod Author, your mod is in fact your property and you should be able to sell it if you want, but then again, what happens when your mod was made thanks to the colaboration, resources, and ideas from other people?, what happens when your mod requires some tool or some other mod to work or look as it should look?, would you, Mr Mod Author, sincerely share your money with that other people? and if you do so, how much do you think you'll get in the end? is really this pocket change worth the effort and the hate/sadness of those like me who live in countries that can't even use dollars for electronic transactions without having to donate a kidney or some other organ?. When you guys made your first mod and share it, how many of you actually did it with the spectation of getting a few bucks out of it?. Thanks for letting me share my opinion.
  3. BTW Robin, whatever the hell you need to do to keep this site running and mods free 4 everyone, do it, I support you in spirit (sadly not in money, because im poor as... well you know) if money comes from ads, Valve,Bethesda, Satan our lord and master or anything else I dont care as long as I can keep enjoying these mods and this community.
  4. Ok so Paid mods = Wrong because, not that I care too much because there isn't almost a single paid thing on the internet that can't be pirated and that I can't found one way or another , but im sure you all have noticed how many of these paid mods rely or require some tools that are free or some other mods to make them look as intended or even work properly so imagine if, as an example: SKSE developers start charging money for their tools too, then everyone would be rightfully reclaiming their share of the pie, and it will all become a mess. Imagine all the free content that is going to be reworked, re edited and transformed into Paid Content by some "smart guys" because they can and you guys who make free mods actually dont have a patent or legal resource to defend your work/property. Hell, in time even Bethesda could be hiring their own team of "mod developers" to make mods and get 65% of the cut for themselves, who knows? there are many implications to this and I will always support the idea of free mods (mainly because I live in a country where I can't even use dollars freely to buy anything on internet) and secondly because I think it is what's right.
  5. So let me know if I get this right: You make a mod, then you upload it on steam workshop, they will have it there, so people can't download it for free, they will sell the downloads take 75% of the profit of your hard work leaving you only with 25%?. OK Steam, thanks but no thanks, if I were to produce mods to make money I would be selling them myself at my own web domain which I could make popular by posting the link in any Skyrim Forum or social network. Lets remember that Bethesda is not Microsoft, the mod authors have ownership of the mods they develop, regardless if you're using Bethesda tools or any other tool to make them, so correct me if im wrong but what im saying is possible, so if you want to make good mods for everyone to enjoy them post them here for free and if you want to make profit from your mods, think smart, don't just trow 75% of your profits at Valve's pockets for no reason.
