So since my last thread pretty much went cold, I'll repost it again. I'm trying to run an ENB for Fallout New Vegas, but every time I install the d3d9.dll file it refuses to launch. It'll load up a full black screen with a smaller black window in the top left corner then after a few seconds will close back to desktop and MO2 unlocks. I put quotations in the executables tab like instructed in my previous thread and it gave me back this error that an antivirus is preventing it from starting. The only antivirus I think I have is just Windows Defender and I'm pretty sure I already made an exclusion for MO2 and NV unless I screwed up somewhere? I'm at my wit's end here, how do I fix this?

Can't get ENB's to work at all.
jhx96 replied to jhx96's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
The quotations gave me this error message (attached). And I went ahead and excluded FNV in DEP, as well as adding entries for FalloutNV.exe and NVSE_loader.exe in WDEG. As for anit-virus programs, I don't have any others turned-on currently that I know of, unless windows has one that I don't know about? And the only save files I have are of like 20 mintues into the game in Doc Mitchel's house, which work fine without the d3d9.dll file installed. But with it currently installed I can't even get to the main menu to load said files. Either way, I was planning on starting a new game anyways.- 10 replies

There's no windows system error that pops up. I go to launch FalloutNV.exe from MO2 executables dropdown menu, it loads up a black screen with a tiny window also featuring a black screen in the top left corner, then after a few seconds it closes back to desktop with MO2 unlocked. The only overlay I have on is the steam overlay, but whether it's on or off doesn't really seem to make a difference. And I'm not seeing any errors in any of the .log files. Unless I'm blind/stupid which is likely, but here's my nvac.log: does a capital "M" letter code mean anything?- 10 replies

So I followed the Viva New Vegas guide (https://vivanewvegas.github.io/index.html), minus a few hardcore survival things and added some other mods not listed in the guide, but avoided most said mods to avoid in the guide. The exception being ENBs, cuz simply put, I want a better looking new vegas. I've also tried NVReloaded + the viva new vegas NVGE preset for it in addition. But for some reason now, MO2 just immediately crashes to desktop upon launching New Vegas with the d3d9.dll file installed, even without NV Reloaded installed. And I've tried using the injector version, the game launches but the enb never applies. I've searched high and low for a solution, but nothing seems to work. Weird part is I was able to run enbs on this computer back in February. Also as a side note, using NVR 3.2.0 for some reason causes a weird glowing blue texture on the ground. However switching to 1.3.0 seems to have resolved that issue. Here's my load order: Specs: CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor GPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti RAM - 16.0 GB OS - Windows 10

Trying to reduce 500 plugins to within the 255 limit via Merge Plugins
jhx96 replied to jhx96's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
I had like 900 mods installed, 887 of which were active and using TES5Edit, Wyrebash, and zMerge I managed to reduce the plugins down to 255 exactly. However in the end, when I finally launched Skyrim LE, I would come across the occasional bug here and there, but then it became sudden errorless ctd's at random intervals of like somewhere between every 5-10, sometimes 30 minutes if I was lucky. Disheartened and discouraged, I decided to later try again but with SE, thought maybe it'd be more stable. With 1622 mods installed,1618 active, and 1509 plugins thinking "hmm, this doesn't seem like a good idea. I highly doubt this is even going to work at all!" only to then realize at the very end of the "guide" that Sinitar may in fact have made a terrible guide. In terms of guides I would probably recommend either of these two instead: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/10694 https://thephoenixflavour.com/skyrim-se/introduction/ Basically, don't be a big dummy and follow Sinitar's "guides" installing every mod listed like me. If you do use his guide, be smart about it.- 8 replies

Ok I switched to zMerge and managed to get my plugins down considerably. However I'm not yet within the 255 limit and this one last merge I'm trying to get work would probably just about do it. I keep getting this error and I'm not sure what to do about it.- 8 replies

So with my new beefy pc, I wanted mod Skyrim to the fullest, make it new/next-gen-esque. And I started with Sinitar Gaming's Ultimate Modding Guide 4.0 for Skyrim LE, and followed that guide to best of my abilities. However It mentions that all the plugins can be reduced/merged via Wrye Bash, I don't if I'm doing something wrong there or something but I also read somwhere that Wyre Bash no longer merges plugins? Idk. But I've resorted to using the Merge Plugins tool. And since I'm new to most of this, I don't know what mods to merge and not to merge (tho I heard it's not a good idea to merge master files?) Any help would be apprecieated. My load order: (via LOOT) Specs:CPU - AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core ProcessorGPU - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 TiRAM - 16.0 GBOS - Windows 10
