  1. Thank you, julfunky. I ran into this problem, myself. I am curious as to the real cause, and not just the UFO4 Patch having something to do with it. Though, I neither have the technical knowledge nor the patience to try figuring it out, myself. Just glad a sufficient workaround exists
  2. I use Homemaker. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
  3. At a certain point in my game, after I had completed all the quests and gathered what I could from a location, I had occasionally removed things that I couldn't otherwise pick up or scrap. I'm a bit... neurotic, I suppose. After shooting up a place and/or taking a Settlement, I like to make it as clean and free of debris as possible. I did this by first identifying the object, disabling, and then marking for deletion. However, now that I'm starting a brand new game, I had thought to ask for advice... What are the full consequences to deleting non-essential objects in the world? Is it preferable to simply DIsable, rather than Delete them? And, why? One thing to note... I like to do these things procedurally and on my own terms. In other words, I like to clean places and remove individual objects as I go along. So, a mod that cleans locations automatically, before I even find them, is not something that interests me. Thank you
  4. Thank you for your suggestions. Is there some tool out there which records game instances and can tell you what happened in the event of a CTD?
  5. Those look like snap points to me, but I'll let someone who knows better confirm this
  6. How many do you have installed? I recall having around 107 mods when the crashing got really intense. The thing is I hear that others have 200+ and their setup runs fine.
  7. It's possible that this subject has been concisely covered before in another Thread. Please let me know if such a Thread exists, and I will be happy to accept this one being Locked. About a month ago, I began to notice my game crashing more and more often. It happened so frequently, one day I just deleted-freaking-everything and walked away. But I realized I like this game too much, and I was just too ignorant and impatient with my situation to have resolved it properly. So, now, I beseech you, fellow players/enthusiasts... What are your best tips for preventing these things from happening, and resolving them when they do? I suspect that my 100+ Mods had something to do with it, but I've seen other people with far more Mods who don't seem to have these issues. Thank you
  8. I've seen, here and there, mention of Scrap Everything being either outdated or unsuitable as a Mod for removing unwanted clutter, etc. from Settlements. The thing is... I like being able to manually remove/delete things as I come across them in a Settlement, rather than downloading a Mod that makes the entire Settlement clean automatically, and I only recall hearing about Mods that do this as opposed to the functionality of Scrap Everything. I'm returning to the game brand-new (uninstalled game and removed all saves after a CTD ragequit), and I figured I would try to mod my game more responsibly, using more up-to-date and/or cleaner Mods, for a better gameplay experience. So, if there is a good alternative to Scrap Everything that you know about, I would very much like to know. Thank you
  9. Save regularly. I prefer taking the time to save often, so that if I happen to make a mistake(like you described), it's only a few minutes of work to "undo" at most.
  10. perhaps you could console and select the mirelurk, disabling it before you kill it. See if that does anything
  11. This is ridiculous. How is this STILL a thing? I'm at level 49, only starting Civil War questline now. Whiterun isn't on the map and Ulfric cannot be reported to. This embarrassment should have been cleaned up by Bethesda ages ago. And worse, no clear solution from even the mighty Nexus Mods forums. Sad... just sad. Low-energy
  12. EDIT: I just realized that starting all over with a new game wouldn't be that big a deal, and having the supreme power of Console Commands I could easily test certain things to make sure they were working properly, so I just uninstalled Skyrim entirely and removed all mods, to start from scratch, and just do the troubleshooting myself. Hopefully if I wipe the entire slate clean and begin anew, I can detect what mod is causing which issue, but of course there are a number of possibilities that could cause this problem that I'm not considering. So please, if you have any insight into this matter, I would still appreciate it. ----------------------------------- I'm certain this is not a new subject, but as a layman I'm not sure where to begin. I noticed at some point that some NPCs developed miscolored necks from their bodies, and I'm not sure what is causing it. Currently, it hasn't gotten to the point where it would be terribly annoying. For instance, Brelyna looks okay if she is covered up... but I would rather have her whole body in the right colour. Also, Vampires seem to be affected by this. They all seem to default to some sort of blackface, which is kind of funny, but again not the intended effect of the mods I'm pretty sure. Mods I have that could be affecting this: Total Character Makeover UNP FNIS XP32 Maximum Skeleton (Skyrim SE) --- My gut instinct was to reinstall and tinker with the load order, but I would rather have some professional advice before I accidentally my whole game. Thank you
  13. test EDIT] Okay for some reason if I quote you the dialogue box for posting hangs forever, and when I tried the Full Editor it didn't save the post and sent me all the way to the top forum. WTF. [ nah sometimes people have no interest in an idea or they start on it without saying anything. really a lot of people dont like the 'PM me for details' line and will avoid/ignore threads that even hint they are intentionally withholding details. i know a couple of users have claimed to quit reading a thread just for because of that.] - Well I suppose it isn't important that there are special parts about this idea I may request or add myself down the line... thank you. [ 3) opens mouth with 'large fangs' (so clipping issues, oh god this is always an irritating task)] - well this isn't necessary in the alpha version... [ 4) SSE version meaning no SKSE] - what's that? [ 5) custom quest] - I've seen some pretty decent custom quests made but perhaps I am ignorant to how complicated making them actually is [ 11) kill moves] if you're talking about nibbing off heads, that's also not gonna be part of the alpha I don't think. Just a finishing touch. Even so, I figured the Skeever animation for jumping at people and the animation of a person's head coming off in a finishing move wouldn't be too hard to put in since those already exist in the game... [ that's just a generalization there. people often dont go for complicated 'joke mods' even if they are fun ideas.] - I suppose I could do it, myself... but... I'm a complete noob. And an idiot. I really would rather pay a professional to do it. Yes, yes, I can't "pay" for mods... *grumble*... and as long as I can't, I don't think it will ever happen. I don't have all day to learn how to do this. Well... I suppose I had all day to put hundreds of hours into this game...
  14. well either my idea is too dumb to be considered or this place is a lot slower than I anticipated
  15. I've been cruising the Nexus for something comparable to , and I have to say I'm disappointed. How could this not be a thing, after four years of modding? There are some respectable mods that come close, but not close enough, and none ported over to SSE. I've got a few ideas that I think would make for a good mod. A mod to be remembered. If you are a modder that has experience with NPCs and/or Quests, Dialogue, Scripting, Structures, Dungeons, etc., then I would like to talk with you. I'm a layman when it comes to modding, and I've been informed that I cannot pay anyone for their help (much as I would like to), but there must be something I can do, because I would really like to see this happen. --- Quest: "The Beast of Caerbannog" - Slay the mysterious beast. When you reach Level 5, a Courier runs over to you and delivers a bounty flyer on a "mysterious and deadly beast" which has recently killed some travelers on a road near (insert Hold name here). (insert Jarl here) has requested the aid of any warriors willing to fight this menace so that the roads may be safe once more. When reaching the destination marked by your map, you will chance upon a pile of freshly-dead bodies. After following a trail of bloodstains on the road, into the forest, you will find the Cave of Caerbannog, a cave whose namesake is some ancient Nord's tomb or something. Guarding the cave is a rabbit. But... it's no ordinary rabbit. --- Quest Info and Lore Do you remember Clavicus Vile's companion, Barbas? The little quest with Barbas inspired one idea: for the Killer Rabbit to be sapient, with the soul of some guy, and for him to have his own mini-quest as an introduction. - This is supposed to be at least semi-lore-friendly. Off the top of my head, I'm gonna throw Sheogorath as an implicated party. Perhaps the Nord warrior was cursed by the Madman for saying something off-colour. We all know that Sheogorath is the reigning troll Daedra of the Elder Scrolls, so it might make sense. - He would be fully-voiced, probably by me. Perhaps, for added comedy value, I could tweak the audio to be high-pitched as if I inhaled some Helium. If I do this, I will try really hard to make it as minimally annoying as possible. I have some home studio equipment for recording that isn't a potato. --- Like Barbas, he will not talk with his mouth, so no mouth animation for speaking will be necessary. Fighting the Beast... - The Rabbit's damage output scales with your level (but he will not be easy! Unless you use cheats... and then if you do, f*** off, *censored*a. This isn't for you!). He also comes with some magic attacks and powers, again depending on the level of his attacker. --- At level 20, for example, he may spit Dragonfire (example) if kept at a distance for too long, or when simply alternating attacks. When I learn how that works, I'll let you know. But it must happen. In the name of all that is awesome. --- Combat Like Barbas, the Killer Rabbit will be combat-ready, of course. Otherwise, how could it be a killer rabbit? - Animation like the Skeever's, or something. Or perhaps its own hybrid animation between dog/skeever? That will be ironed out when we get to it. - The ability to nib a person's head off as a fatality animation, just like the Perk a Dragonborn can have. (and just like in the movie). - Slightly faster at melee attacks than a Skeever, perhaps. Also faster-moving. --- Appearance It's a white rabbit. - Approx. 1.10x the size of a normal rabbit, perhaps (going by Console setscale standard). - Red eyes of a light shade. Not too deep of a reddish colour. When in combat, he opens his mouth part-ways, revealing large fangs. He may also glow, depending on the magic he uses. --- Quick FAQs Marriage material? - maybe...? Perhaps he could bring you dead things and that would be your Homecooked Meal. Who knows. No bestiality. Please. Bunny Armour? Craftable? - Hell yes. But not in the Alpha stage, I don't think. Idle Chatter? Location-specific? - Yes. And yes, if possible. Does he have a name? - Yes. I just haven't thought of something fitting (or at least funny), yet. Carrying things? - Yes, but probably no more than 100 weight. He's a damn rabbit. Even if he's got superpowers. inspired by a few things... Monty Python, obviously. Barbas Quest, "A Daedra's Best Friend". The INIGO mod. Rabbits Kingdom. Amazing Follower Tweaks. Probably a few other things I can't recall immediately.
  16. Any admin or mods available please delete this duplicate... Thank you
  17. you ask on the request forum. explain in clear detail, do not beg, do not demand, be polite, be respectful, be patient. That's pretty damn lame if those are my only options. It's not like I wouldn't be respectful or patient if I paid them, but I would think paying someone would be good leverage, incentive for them to get the job done, and done reasonably quicker than if they weren't getting anything out of it. Well, then this is a failing on the part of Bethesda's. I will adhere the rules, begrudgingly. Thanks for informing me, btw
  18. Okay, then how do I incentivize people to help me? I can't do it, myself, and I would rather have skilled people helping me. I would also want it done within a reasonable timeframe. Is this not a dumb rule? Or am I the only one who sees it? To be clear, I wouldn't be paying for the Mod. I would be paying for technical help. A service. It just so happens that we're making a Mod. I could easily call it "technical services". "Programming services".
  19. ((answered)) I have an idea for a mod, but I am not very technically-minded, so I wonder if I can offer people money in order to help me. Does this go against any terms of use for Nexus Mods? Or can I do this? I would rather be able to offer this incentive, even if it isn't much, to attract people to any Request I feel like making. To my mind, it shouldn't be against the rules or any existing laws (and if it is, that's stupid), but I think it's important to ask before I continue. Thank you
  20. This is my first time playing through Skyrim, and I have to ask if anyone knows what the motivation was for neglecting to put any sort of means of exposing Maven Black-Briar and the Thieves Guild, when Bethesda bothered to make a Quest for destroying the Dark Brotherhood? Did they intentionally forget to add such a Quest-line out of sadism or something? It's very annoying that you have to leave Riften in a sort of... "unfinished" state when such problems still plague the city, when bad people are allowed to continue doing bad things! To deny us the opportunity to shut that Maven's mouth with a Daedric Dagger! Any leads on Bethesda info, commentaries, anything to answer this question? There must be a reason, to go through the effort of creating Dawnguard and Dragonborn, and yet allow this travesty to endure. Thank you
  21. Who do I have to pay to make a port for this original Skyrim mod? How much more to make sure it works? For the players who always wanted to deep-fry Maven and the rest of the lot! http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28880/?
  22. I found this mod for Skyrim that was published a while back, and I was wondering how difficult it would be to make it work in SE? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/18511/?
  23. Yeah, I wasn't too upset about the graphics either. The environment really doesn't need to look hyper-realistic to me. Kind of annoyed the human characters looked... alien... but other than that it's alright. And of course, because we have mod accessibility, anything that could potentially have bothered me was already fixed.
  24. In my short time here, I've noticed an impressive bunch of Japanese weapons and apparel coming out of the original Skyrim, so I figured I'd ask: What kind of work would be involved in making Afro Samurai's signature hair, and perhaps Kuma's Teddy Bear helmet? I reckon the bear helmet would be easier to do because it's a solid piece that requires little physics compared to the Afro-hair, which I'm sure would be a nightmare to get working with HDT.
