  1. I love how they will curate mods when they can't even fix bugs and glaring issues in their own full priced games that have been rehashed, rereleased and pumped full of DLC for years. What about the brown face bug and the many other oddities of the high res DLC? What about all of the issues the Unofficial patch fixes? What about all the things their last official patch broke or 'fixed'? And this is just for FO4. These are the people we're supposed to trust with curation? We know how they operate from experience. We know this isn't for the modders, this is for their back pockets. Modders are going to get a pathetic fraction of what their work will bring in for Bethesda. Whether it be from sales that come directly from mods, or the amount of copies they sell of their full priced games as a result of mods being available. I also find it incredibly interesting that they've announced it and explained it on their site, yet there are still so many obvious questions we need answers to. The only way I could get behind this is if modders were at the forefront of it all, but they won't be. And good luck with all of the licensing / theft / copyright issues. What a mess.
  2. Hello I've disabled them in game I've disabled them in MO I've disabled them in the My Games/Skyrim/ ini file. They are set to: bDialogueSubtitles=0bGeneralSubtitles=0 Yet every now and then they still appear for a few seconds then disappear again The only UI mods I use are SkyUI and Immersive HUD, neither of which should affect this Any ideas? Thanks.
  3. Same, I got that a lot. Downloading one at a time helped. Took around 5hrs to get just a few mods :/
  4. I can only get 30kbs on any file download :/
  5. Hello I want to start a new game but I want to use my existing character from 2011. Is there a way for me to do this at all? I only want to retain the looks. Thanks
  6. All good... it appears I had a compatibility patch I didn't need and I found what it was looking for (thanks to Wrye bash), after I downloaded it, it worked fine. Thanks.
  7. Back again, this time with my first problem So I sometimes see some characters and parts of them are invisible. They have one thing in common - bear armor. I know what's missing, but how do I go about diagnosing this problem? I'm pretty sure immersive armor's handles this specific armor (though I can't find a reference to it ANYWHERE), and I have all compatibility patches I can find. What's the process of sorting this out? Thanks.
  8. Again, thanks for the help, but in regards to those colours (I found the definitions earlier) do they matter since they're only coloured in the install area? Isn't that what the bashed patch takes care of in the load list? Thanks
  9. I think I'm all done, except (there's always an except) my load order. I read that the bashed patch should always go last, but if you look here, you can see BOSS/Reproccer+BOSS are putting some after it. Is this fine to ignore? This is my install list, I'm guessing all those conflicting colours are what the bashed patch takes care of? Thanks
  10. In that case, I think I'm done! I replaced UFO with another follower overhaul and now I have no (supposed) dirty edits. The only thing left for me to do is rebuild the bashed patch, so if I could just get an answer to this question (as above) then I can finally get into the game Are the 'Tweak settings' in a bashed patch values from a mod, or are they always there? I'm not sure if I should tick any of the check boxes there when I go to rebuild it, nothing mentions this. Where do they come from?
  11. Here's an example in Vurt's Flora overhaul mod: http://www.coflash.com/stuff/vurt.jpg So I have the mod loaded in Skyrim with its dependencies... I've found the dirty edits, I can see them side by side, but how do I know what to do with it? In the guide video posted above the mod author knew what changes weren't needed so he deleted them. How do I know what to do here? If I had to take a guess... I'd say that Vurt's mod should overwrite the Skyrim file as it's a change. Or, as I asked before, is it as easy at this? I also read you can just click 'Anneal' in Wrye Bash. Also, are the 'Tweak settings' in a bashed patch values from a mod, or are they always there? I'm not sure if I should tick any of the check boxes there, nothing mentions this. Thanks
  12. I did read that guide (and I watched the video) but it still seems dangerous. The guy in the video cleans his own mod, therefore he knows what he's doing. I don't see which part of that guide actually points out what you should and shouldn't remove, which is pretty much the biggest (and only) issue I have left with any of this
  13. I wouldn't even know where to start on the 'why'... I'm pretty close to just ignoring the few that I have for Flora Overhaul + UFO so I might just start the game One confusing thing was that Vurt (author of Flora Overhaul) said in a forum post I read that he did clean the file. One user had X amount of dirty edits, I had a different amount. Things like that make it all even more confusing.
  14. I have been doing a lot today (including cleaning the update/DLC master files) but I have another question. UFO reports this in BOSS: UFO - Heartfire AddOn.esp Contains dirty edits: 29 ITM, 18 UDR records. Needs TES5Edit cleaning. A cleaning guide is available here. Can I use the exact same process to clean this mod as I did for the other files? As in; Load it in TES5edit, click any dependencies, click 'Apply Filter for cleaning' and then 'undelete and disable references' then close/save? Because if that's really it, then it's pretty simple, thanks
