  1. there is just no way of stopping them now, and it is a risk of modding, i would love to see it being different aswell, but 'words' cannot protect a mod.
  2. well, i don't know. Users who hide their mods because they notice they are getting targeted by thiefs, sadly enough retire from 'sharing' them with the public, they don't stop modding however, they just keep everything from themselfs. Also, the main problem is that everything is 'open', everyone can download the mods, can see all the meshes and textures and things being used, thus everyone can steal and use all the stuff. The only solution would be, and i don't know if that is even possible to begin with, is pack the files in a file that CANNOT be unpacked without messing up anything, but that still remains usable in-game. Sort of like scramble the contents so only the mod author knows whats-what and the like. Good idea! Yes, pretty much like that, only the modder should be able to see what is being used, but we as users of those mods, should not be even able to do anything else besides using it in our games. But why i say that may be a difficult thing, and perhaps even not possible, is because textures, meshes etc aren't the same as coding, for coding their are ways to 'encrypt' and 'compile' codes, essentially, making it usable, but reverting it back to original 'code' is nearly impossible.

  4. I wonder what Nexus staff has to say? LadyMilla?- silly me. It's Sunday. Well, what i'm talking about here is already from quite some time ago, and the user in question was banned here, and so far i can see the person in question has stopped modding al together, but it was interesting to find out however. I just had randomly came across a armor that is being converted, and the user linked 2 sources from where the armor comes from (he isn't the thief however). i decided to check out the source links, and a few things i noticed: - while watching the original picture of that armor (which was made for the previous elder scrolls game) i saw things that look exactly like what the user in question (the thief) used, in her/his armors and claiming it as his/her. http://darigaz17.tumblr.com/tagged/downloads (scroll down untill you see the tribal looking girl with tattoo's) i was able to see 2-3 very suspiciously pieces of armor the thief claimed as her/his.
  5. you know, this also happens in skyrim, and it's sad to see this happening. i'm finding out things from a user that got banned here on nexus mods for claiming things as his/her while they are not, and the more i search for specific armors, the more i can lay links from where that user took it. It's sad to see poeple being targeted by poeple who just steal others their work and don't ask for permission to use it.
  6. yeah I think so too the problem might be on my RAM or CPU I am recently reinstalled skyrim and the mods. Before I'm reinstall I never face this problems. Or is it because I'm using Skyrim HD right now so it affects my other mods? Look at my updated responds, And running skyrim HD while having Skyrim optimization on at the same time won't do alot i suppose.
  7. I think the issue here is your RAM, and perhaps CPU. your computer can't handle all of them after some time of playing, skyrim can't use more then 3GB, but your system itself also uses RAM in order to run the game & mods. Another thing could be a certian mod that has a so called 'leaking' issue, which causes overload, however, i'm almost confident it's your RAM and CPU that can't keep up after 2-3 hours with all those mods. i'm also seeing a conflict in your set-up: run for your lives & when vampires attack and immersive citizens - AI overhaul, both those mods do the same thing, so i would recommend removing 1 of those as a start, Immersive citizens i think does all those things those 2 mods do seperated. Another strange thing: im seeing Illustrous HDT capes, but no HDT plugin. disregard this, just figured that XPMSE does the HDT stuff.
  8. Thanks, Apparently i completely missed that section of the forum.
  9. Well, because poeple do something for a game they love, take a look at the sims 3, also has a MASSIVE collection of custom made things, all for free. The other reason is, when a mod contains original things from skyrim (so for example, textures and so on), then technically speaking, you can't sell anything for your own profit, as that might be considered 'stealing' from the original game. For example, Take Enderal, while that is a truly great mod, with a story of it's own, it's still made out of things existing in skyrim, and on top of that, it needs the skyrim files in order to work, If they would sell it, then it would be 'stealing'. The ONLY case i see a mod being viable for selling, is when everything is made from scratch without using anything existing in the current game (also includes not using some transformed armor, or somebody else his work) Now, you have those inviduals who sadly enough 'steal' other poeple their work without permission, and use it in their own mods which they sell. Long Story short, Modding is free because bethesda allows modding, but doesn't allow selling it (if it contains anything from their game), and steam together with bethesda did make a attempt at starting a paid modding section for skyrim, but that failed, it however would have been the only place where you could 'legally' sell mods.
  10. So, moments ago, i found the armband i was looking for in skyrim, and it's basicly a armor mod apparently that i had to dig up as it's 'normally' been removed, however, i did find it... somewhere. now the question however, the armband in question is merged and part of the gloves in the armor set, like this: http://oi67.tinypic.com/2ln8x0x.jpg all the pieces i put a circle around are 'tied' together, and what i want to try and do, is seperate them so they act as invidual pieces, the textures and meshes are in the mod, so i think this must be possible one way or the other. Now, since this is a armor set that supposingly should be already 'deleted' from existence, it means my plans are NOT to share them any further, and that the things i will try to archieve here is for personal use only. Maybe i will hand down the files to somebody who is actually capable of 'seperating' it, and perhaps putting it in a seperated ESP file aswell. Let me know, and also let me know if this is in the wrong section or where such a question should be posted. Mello.
