In response to post #47503880. Cruel indeed. As soon as I read that I scrolled down, only to find no image XD EDIT: Awesome, it's fixed now :) -
I could swear I heard someone watching Star Trek: Voyager in the background for a bit :P

I see they cut down my description a bit. Fair enough, considering I probably went a bit overboard :P . All the same, I'm glad to see my submission was appreciated. It makes me happy to know that I can contribute!

Happy Holidays all, and especially everyone on the SKSE team! I, like many others, eagerly await the release of SKSE64. It's going to be great to see what kind of jaw-dropping things mod authors can do in a more stable engine with more memory, and we have you guys to thank for it! I'm sure I speak for most everyone when I say that we are extremely grateful to have such talented people taking the time to do such amazing work!

I will admit (rather shamefully) that I did have to use an adblocker on here for a long length of time. I was in (and am still getting out of) a horrid financial situation, and even $2 a lot of the time meant the difference between food and no food. I was staying at a place that had no internet connection of it's own, and had to use the guest connection of a nearby business. As such, it was slow, very bottlenecked, and the ads here would cripple my connection. Adblock allowed me to actually view the site and grab the mods I was wanting, for whatever game I was playing at the time to help cope with everything. But I promised that when things were better, I'd pay for Supporter status, and I made good on that. Now I'm looking to keep bettering things in my life, and when I get to the point where I can, I'll gladly pay for Lifetime Premium. I'm glad this site is here, and I'm glad to be able to support it. That support may not have been immediate, which I wish to make up for. Because I hope that Nexus Mods is around for many more years to come, and I want to help ensure that, for anyone else who may be in the same situation I was in not that long ago.

I appreciate the time you've taken to reply. Is a PM with a GDrive link acceptable, or would that be potentially hazardous? The last thing I want to do is go against the author's final wishes in regards to his mod.
-
I would like to formally inquire to the powers that be here on the Nexus if jonx0r gave any final wishes regarding Wyrmstooth before he up and vanished. With him gone is the mod technically abandoned, or did he leave instructions with admins that his files shall never grace the site again? Wyrmstooth is a staple of the Skyrim community here, and I have seen countless people ask after it, only to be redirected to potentially unsafe sites for a copy. It is a shame that such a long-running, storied and well-polished mod literally has vanished into nothing, and it frankly deserves to be played by more than those of us who've had a copy saved to our hard drives, or those of us who download a potentially unsafe pirated copy of this mod. If possible, please find a way to host Wyrmstooth on the Nexus, or allow a respected member of the community here the privilege of uploading it. Lastly, I am not trying to infringe upon the rights on jonx0r or any other mod author, such as they are in the manner of mod rights here on the Nexus and other modding communities. I am not asking for rules to be broken, or even really bent. All I am asking is if the ability is there for others to safely enjoy this wonderfully crafted experience.

What texture file is this? Please help!
arecaidianfox replied to arecaidianfox's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
UPDATE 2: Well, after checking for a FOURTH time, I found the culprit. It's a grass texture introduced by, of all things, the normally splendid-looking Skyrim Flora Overhaul. Specifically the file "vurt_Icebush.dds", located in "data\textures\landscape\grass". Based on my experience so far, I would suggest replacing it with one of the lighter grass textures from Grim Grass ( http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/71240 ) or either color of Snowgrass02 ( http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/70977 ), though Snowgrass02 can look somewhat odd at that size. Personally, I may just squish one of those replacement suggestions to avoid huge grasses, or swap it out for a transparent texture and see what that gets me. I have also made a post on SFO's forum kindly asking vurt if he'd be willing to release a 1K or 2K resolution version of the original texture. Anyway, hopefully this short thread helps someone avoid having to dump hours of sorting out where that sad-looking piece of shrub comes from, and how to get rid of it. Cheers, - Arecaidian Fox -

UPDATE: I can't see the plant/grass when I load up the CK, either vanilla or with my flora overhauls (SFO, Unique Flowers & Plants, Unique Grasses and Unbelieveable Grass Two). -

No dice unfortunately, the texture remains. That mod certainly made those spindly little dead snow plants look more interesting, though. -
I've been trying to figure out what texture file this horrible-looking grass is so I can swap it out, but haven't had much luck. I even dumped several vanilla .BSAs and couldn't find it. I know it's not snowgrass01 or snowgrass02, nor does it seem to be mod-added. Sadly, I can't seem to find it, so if anyone knows, it'd really be appreciated. http://i.imgur.com/bav2lpW.jpg Thanks in advance!

LE Candlelight W/ Toggle and Constant Magicka Drain
arecaidianfox posted a topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Okay, so the thread title kind of sums it up. I'm looking for a Candlelight spell that has what amounts to an infinite duration, has a per-second cost to maintain (like, 5 magicka/sec) and functions on a toggle. So, equip and cast to turn on, repeat to turn off. I've tried recast mods, extended duration Candlelight mods (yes, even this one), and a few other quirky bits in between. But I have never found what I've described here. I have tried making the mod on my own, but with no luck. If anyone can spare some time to help out with this, I would be extremely grateful.-

Steam and Bethesda remove paid modding from Skyrim Workshop
arecaidianfox replied to Dark0ne's topic in Site Updates
Well...There you have it. I am both sad and happy by this. Happy to see that things may finally settle down, sad that we lost great modders and the uproar this all created. This wouldn't have been too terrible a business model to work on and improve, but their fatal error I think was trying to do something like this in a community that has been well-established over the last few years. If they do this again, it should be on a newly-launched game. -
Let me start off by saying that I love The Choice Is Yours. It's a fantastic idea and it's well-executed. I have used it for over a year and not had a single problem, in terms of something failing or an error related to the mod itself. But I have noticed a strange side-effect of using it. Not on the game itself-ish, but more on how I feel about Skyrim. I took a break from Skyrim for three months after a year of unsuccessful builds of my modded game. I needed a break so when I went back, I knew what mods really were essential to what I wanted in my core Skyrim experience (and on a side note, it's awesome that we can do that, have totally different experiences based on mods). Obviously, TCIY made my list. But as I roamed Skyrim with my new and thankfully more stable build, I noticed something I thought I could never feel with a modded Skyrim game. I was bored. I sat and thought about it, even taking a break from heavy gameplay for another couple days to ponder it. Here is what I came up with...In taking away dumps of Journal entries for quests, I felt the game lost direction. Why do we do quests, especially those of us who have done them several times over the last three-ish to four years the game has existed? Because they are in that Journal. We see them every time we press Pause. Whatever your motive beyond that doesn't matter, but as for me, I don't like clutter in my Journal. So, in my theory, "Journal - Quest Entries = Loss of Direction and Overall Boredom". A solution may be a new Journal section. Let's call it Held Quests (though "Suspended" might be a better word) for the sake of the discussion. A Held Quest is one you have removed from your main Journal page, so you don't see it every time you press pause. It's a way to manage the Journal while (possibly) not losing the sense of direction the game gives you in dumping quests into your Journal. Hell, take that a bit further and add an Abandon Quest function that you can use from either the Journal or Held Quests page. It would remove the quest completely if you had no interest in it. Then, maybe a while later in the game it gives you the option to add the quest back into your Journal, possibly through a random world encounter. Or you could simply go and talk to the original quest giver to pick it back up. Which method would obviously vary by the type of quest. Adding those layers of management to the Journal, instead of making most quests not appear there at all until you start them, could be a better way to mod the Journal and change how the player handles quests. What are your thoughts, as other users of mods, maybe even this mod? And especially what are the thoughts of mod authors who read this? I'd like to know. And just as a note, I posted a nearly identical wall-o-text on TCIY's page as well.

Considering everything you've already tried, I'm about as stumped as you are. The only thing I can say is that every time this has happened to me, it is the result of one of three things: 1: A bad installation of the original game. 2: A corrupted mod download. 3: Missing compatability patches. -

Missing parent plugins, maybe? Do you have CoT installed along with the CoT Weather Patch? As far as I know, the Weather Patch requires the original base CoT to be installed... -

Yes, this happens with new games. Sometimes I begin seeing the issue right away, other times it seems to take a few hours to manifest. -

Randomly Unable To Interact With Objects And NPCs
arecaidianfox posted a topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
The title pretty much sums this up. Random objects and NPCs are becoming uninteractable. Could be that I can't pick up a septim I find laying around, or a potion, but I can pick up other of the same or different items near them. Or, as the game-breaking issue currently is, I am unable to interact with NPCs. Again, this happens randomly, and not to all NPCs at once. Right now I am unable to interact with Jarl Balgruuf. I can put my crosshair over him, and I'll get the talk/activate/interact prompt, but nothing will happen when I press the activate key. May as well be hitting the key while staring into the sky at that point. I really need help with this and I cannot seem to find ANYTHING documenting this specific issue. I know my load order list will be needed, but I currently do not have internet at home for the moment (issues with the apartment complex and the TV/internet providers). I will try to get anything to this page as quickly as possible.
