You both have a point, I might just use #3 but without the text.

Ok. Do you mind explaining how this will help me solve my problem? -
Mesh not showing up in GECK preview window.
Zazoomah replied to Zazoomah's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
I didn't think about applying the texture, I just thought I could apply the texture in the GECK like I always do when making a retexture of something... Do I have to apply the texture in Nifskope first? Alright... Looks like I'll look up some tutorial on youtube then... Can't do anything now though as I have to do something. -

Hm... Better check I'm in the correct root/node before uninstalling and reinstalling... Just checked, an apparently, I don't seem to have the same roots, nodes, or options you do... Took a screenshot to show you what I mean... are the options different depending on your mesh? http://i1277.photobucket.com/albums/y498/CounterNinja/NIF_zpse6409bd6.png -

Zazoomah replied to Zazoomah's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
How do you mean? Like the Shader Flag drop down menu is completely blanked out when you click on them? Because that exact thing happened to me and I solved it by uninstalling and reinstalling. I guess I didn't install it correctly the first time or something. Here's a picture of the problem I had before I reinstalling nifskope: http://i.imgur.com/z0QEEGM.png What I mean is the shader flag drop down menu isn't there... I can't see it anywhere. Double checked twice and still don't see it. I do see something un-clickable called "Shader ...", But like I said, I can't click on it so I can see what the full name is. I doubt its Shader Flags though, as the other options that are in your screenshot aren't there. -

I am trying to get a mesh in nif format into this game. The mesh was originally a .obj file, and I used nifskope to save it as a nif file. I put the file in data/meshes/weapons/(Mymod'sfolder), where you are suppost to put the nif file in, then I go into the geck, and try to put the mesh in the 3d model preview when you are creating a weapon, but the mesh is invisible and not showing up, and under 3D_Name, it says "Marker_Error0". What am I doing wrong?

Converting Counter Strike mods to New Vegas?
Zazoomah replied to Zazoomah's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Mod Troubleshooting
Thanks for your help, I'll post here if I have any questions. -
I saw on the nexus some people convert some Counter Strike weapon mods and put them in New Vegas. I want to do the same, but this is for personal use. Anyways, I have been having some trouble converting the mod I want to convert to New Vegas. I have managed to open up the VTF file, save the file as a jpeg, and open it up in gimp. But I don't know what to do next. There aren't any tutorials anywhere. So if anyone can help, I would be grateful :)

I reposted this thread here because I posted it in the wrong forum. I want to give one of my character's some tattoos (I know how to make it so only my character has the tats), and I am going to use gimp to do that. I just installed IrfanView because I heard from someone they open up fallout textures with it... Problem is, I have no idea how its done and there is no instructions I can find, whatsoever, on how to use this. I have the "upperbody" file at the ready, and I also backed it up. How do I use IrfanView to open the program up in gimp? Or is there a much simpler program I can do this with?

Tattoos JUST for your character.
Zazoomah replied to Zazoomah's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
I think I may have explained things wrong. I know how to do all that, but I want to make my own tattoos. I was wondering how I open the body file in gimp so I can add some tattoos. Sorry for the confusion :) EDIT: CRAP! Ignore this reply, wrong forum thread xD I learned how to do all this last night just so everyone knows. The moderators can delete this thread now. -
Opening texture files up in gimp.

(You know, I must have hit myself on the head and gone retarted while sleeping last night, because I posted this on the wrong forum (And its not the ponly mistake I have made today.). Moderators, please delete this xD) -
I am starting a new playthrough soon and I want this character to have tattoos. But all the tattoos I have seen (For males at least) involve everyone else in the entire friggin game including you, has the tattoos. I was wondering if there was a tattoo mod that makes tattoos just for you. I saw this one for females but I play as a male. I heard something about making tattoos work with a custom race only so no other NPCs have it, but how does this work?

OH! My god I am so friggin stupid! I was looking at the meshes folder instead of textures folder! I'll get to work on installing that file that u posted. EDIT: It didn't work. I even renamed headhuman_sk to headhuman and it still didn't work. I'll try redownloading with the link you posted. EDIT 2: Actually, the link you posted is the mod I use.
