  1. I would like to create a mod that can transmogrify a few tin cans into a piece of scrap metal through a schematic in the workbench. I've never fooled around with this kind of thing before though, and am having trouble finding a tutorial on how to do it. I saw one on how to add modded weapon schematics, but since this is for an item (and ideally I only want one version of the schematic) I don't know if it would work for me. I've never messed with scripting or anything before either, and that seems like something I'd have to fool around with while making this mod. I have messed with form lists and stuff like that before, but only in as far as a tutorial told me to while making a different mod. My experience with the GECK is mostly limited to creating unique weapons and armor using vanilla/DLC assets, not much more than that. So any help or advice at all would be helpful to me with this. And if what I'm trying to do won't work due to engine limitations or is too complicated for my tiny brain, any advice on what method would work for my mod would be greatly appreciated.
  2. I've never been able to think of a way of googling this to get the kind of results I want because of the word mod meaning different things, so I thought I'd just ask here. I've used the GECK and the Construction Set before, and the Creation Kit for Skyrim, so I know the basics of how to create game mods to add new weapons for those games. Basically, things like changing the damage, adding crit effects, etc. for a unique weapon by editing an existing weapon (to borrow the model since I don't have any modeling skills) then changing the ID. Unfortunately, with the new weapon modding system in FO4 there's a lot more to the CK interface when modifying them for the game. I'd like to learn how to do things like choose which mods can be put on my unique weapons, like restricting a double barrel to using only the sawed off barrel mod or making my mod's guns able to use mods from different weapons (thinking an assault rifle with a minigun barrel). I'd also like to learn how to make a weapon spawn equipped with specific mods in-game. Learning how to change the mod slots of stuff like armor and clothes would be a plus as well. So if anyone knows of a basic guide or wants to give me some advice on how to find one/how to do what I'd saying with the Creation Kit, I'd greatly appreciate it.
  3. Thank you. I was able to use the first method; they're loose, which I heard some people don't like, but it'll work for me and should be good enough if someone else wants to use it too. Now I just need to finish remaking my mods and upload them.
  4. So I recently had a hard drive fail on me, causing me to lose a few mods I made for Skyrim among other things. I decided to remake them and post them on either the Nexus or the Steam Workshop for safe keeping, so I don't lose them again. The problem is, while I can follow a really noob friendly guide to throw together a cool follower mod, I am way out of my depth when it actually comes to understanding any of what I'm doing. And while I can tell there's something called a .bsa that I think I need to make somehow, the guides I've seen haven't really explained what that really is or how to do it without screwing around with other downloaded programs, or at least not in a way that a dummy like me can understand. And so while I know that I need the files for my follower's face together with the .esp or else I'll get that grey face bug, I don't actually know anything about how to pack them with it in such a way as to actually be able to have them included when you download it from the Nexus or Workshop. So I've come here to ask for someone to explain to me as if I am a five year old... how do I do this?
  5. Um, script? I didn't know I needed to do anything with a script.
  6. I recently installed the Sydney Follower mod, because I like the charactor and wanted to continue playing with her. However, I then realized that her face is about 20 shades lighter than the rest of her body. I personaly like the face, and don't want to change anything but the collor/shade of it. Is there a mod for this, or is there an easy way to change it myself? Thanks ahead of time.
  7. I just changed the damage to 1 like you said, and it still doen't work. I am flummoxed.
  8. So I made this very simple mod, a healing gun with regenerating ammo. In theory, you could use it to heal companions and NPCs for free withought the need for stimpacks. I did it by creating an object effect that heals health and all limbs for 100. I also used the pulse gun as the base weapon, and set the damage, spread, etc. to zero. I tested it on Boone, though, and for some reason it doesn't heal worth a darn. Would anyone happen to know the reason behind this? I sure don't, and I could use the help. I can upload the broken mod itself if it will help, too.
