  1. I have this happen and it usually is because a small fix or optional file is uploaded. It doesn't show under the "Main File" area, but if I scroll down, I'll end up finding something with a more recent date. This can be frustrating if the update/optional file isn't one that you want. A great example from my own experience is the recently released VIS-G Item Sorting. An optional patch (that I choose not to use) was uploaded after the current main file, so it still tells me there is an update available. I think it's based on date & time rather than version.
  2. This is a really neat idea...I'm not experienced with clothing, so we'll see if anyone is interested. In the meantime, a mod I'd recommend is Femshepping's Summer Shorts. I think it adds some good variety to the summer shorts options.
  3. Congrats on working on your first mod. Full disclosure - I use FO4 Edit (or xedit) not the CK. So, as far as your items not placing on the walls - it sounds like they need a snap point added, or CPA, just like what you'd use for a painting. I would add this in Nifskope, since I don't use CK. The easiest way I found to learn how to do it would be to take an item that snaps on the wall (like a painting-that is already a settlement item) and replicate the snap point it has. As far as the non-wall objects that only place on the ground - it sounds like they are missing the right properties to allow them to stack on things. Again, I only know of this in xedit - but under the container/static item there are property/actor values you can assign an item: Such as "Anything is ground" or "Stackable item." I assume that's also in the CK somewhere. Try finding those or start using xedit. I hope this comes as some help to you. v
  4. Great article/interview. I loved learning about this game and knowing the story behind the maker. Looking forward to its release!
  5. When I upload a mod, in the description, you pick the category (which is kind of the main tag I guess). I only remember adding the other tags after the fact - the same way WastelandAssassin said. On a more personal note - I forgot to welcome you to the forums. I was in my own headspace at the time and neglected to share my regrets at your grandfathers passing. It's awesome to see you on here continuing his work and starting your own as well.
  6. I'm pretty sure these are in Easy Homebuilder (full cabins) and G2M Workshop I believe has build pieces from the sunshine cabin set.
  7. Do you mean labels for containers that specifically are for the individual components? Like this or this but with tags such as acid, glass, wood?
  8. Very cool interview. Thanks for doing this. So many of the items I make use Outfit Studio and Material Editor. It's nice to "meet" the person behind the mods.
  9. It's been so long since I've built/played...I completely forgot Port Royal. An excellent mod. Great choice.
  10. G2M -Workshop has that in walkways (check images 49/52) Don't know if they snap to make full flooring, but it is a place to start.
  11. In response to post #60328346. #60329511, #60335036 are all replies on the same post. I am having the same issue. Everything was set to "ask for permission first." I switched a few to "yes" so that I could change the DP to "ask for permission," but it still didn't work for me. Just says "no" now. The section is also greyed out for me as well.
  12. Great! Thanks for letting me know!
  13. I am looking into creating a mod that makes art using the posted images from the community artists. I have asked and received permission from some artists to use their images in a mod, and would not use any without such permissions. My question: If the images themselves contain ENBs, armor mods, texture packs, decorations in the background, etc...how deep do I need to go to obtain permissions for use in my mod? Obviously it's okay to post the images themselves, but what happens when that image ends up in a mod? Thanks for any clarification anyone can provide!
  14. Just in case - try downloading Settlement Menu Manager and follow the instructions with the holotape and run the Menu Rescue.
  15. It's always nice to hear back, after you make the effort to help! As for the duct tape...try looking into modifying textures, it shouldn't be too hard to change just that small part of the glasses. You could do it with things like Paint.NET for free. Good luck!
  16. I would recommend robboten's Snappy Housekit and if you have the DLC, Snappy DLC Kits. These mods use vanilla building materials (walls, floors, etc) but makes them buildable and have snap points. It also includes wallpapers too which help personalize your homes quickly. It is on my "always have" list for sure.
  17. I haven't used the Creation Kit, but I use xEdit (FO4Edit). The answer I gave someone else interested in starting modding: I started trying to mod last year around July and released my first decoration mod at the beginning of October. It all started with a simple goal: Change the bed blanket texture to something I liked better. I think having a small goal helped. Do one thing and follow it all the way through to the finish to understand the process. I use all free programs: Paint.NET, Gimp, Nifskope, Outfit Studio, FO4Edit, Material Editor and BAE to extract the meshes/textures/materials from the game. I watched a few FO4Edit tutuorials to learn the basics, took a mod that did what I wanted to do and opened it up and reverse engineered how it all fit together in the esp. This was a great way for me to figure out how everything connects together and ends up in the game. With this base knowledge I was able to move on to more complex items. Anyway, my best piece of advice I'll repeat: Try one small thing and see it all the way through to the end. You're less likely to be overwhelmed or discouraged. (Here is the link to that topic for the other modders advice and my more descriptive answer.) Good luck!
  18. I suggest taking a look at Rad-Ban Eyewear. I suspect you'll find something close enough to fit your needs!
  19. I too prefer my clothes to be less revealing. For full sets of lore-friendly outfits I suggest Eli's Armor Compendium. If you use the mod Better Settlers it adds the clothing to settlers leveled lists also. Take a look at all the clothing mods from mod author Femshepping. Particularly the brawler, wasteland wanderer and autumn fashion ones, which are some of my favorites. Hope you are able to find what you're looking for!
