  1. You know what would be really cool? If it felt rewarding to play as a thief. The houses of Skyrim are filled with worthless crap that'll merely buy you dinner. Playing as an independent thief feels useless, even though it's my favorite playstyle. I have, however, an idea on how to fix it. It is a simple one, but I can't pull it off because I'm not really familiar with modding. Why not simply create some more valuable items and put them in some of Skyrim's houses? Why can't we steal golden chandlers and stuff like that outside of Thieves Guild quests? And why not make it a tad more advanced by making it so that richer families have more stuff of value? If someone wants to do this, I'm sure I'm not the only one who'll be grateful. It would be awesome :)
  2. I just bought Fallout: NV on the Steam sale because I've heard a lot of good things about it, and I enjoy the Elder Scrolls-games. I stayed up all night, waiting for the game to download. And when it finally finished, and I started it up, the f***ing game crashes to desktop. "FalloutNV.exe has stopped working", is the message I get as the Bethesda splash screen appears. And then it crashes. Obviously, I get pissed of, and do what normally works for me, which is setting it to compitability mode for Windows XP SP3 and running it as admin. This does not work. The same CTD always occur. And so I search the internet for solutions. I've tried..: - Changing "bUseThreadedAI=1" and "iNumHWThreads=2" in Fallout_Default.ini and Fallout.ini, since I have a Quad-core CPU. - Downloading that "d3d9.dll" file The first thing did not work. The d3d9.dll-file however, made it possible for me to play the game for 30 seconds before it gave me the same CTD. My specs are: - Windows 8.1 Home Premium, 64 bit - ASUS GTX770 DirectCU II OC @2047MB - Intel Core i5 3570K @ 3,50Ghz - 8GB Dual-channel DDR3 @686Mhz Does anyone have a fix? I'm so pissed off right now, I've spent hours trying to run this game :/
  3. Is there any mods that make the Shrouded armor a bit more "leathery"? Like, shinier and stuff?
  4. Yaaaay, Doctor Who! :D The Thieves' quests are never any problem. They are all way too easy, no matter if you have the Sonic Screwdriver or not. And that's a problem :/
  5. Wow, you have some decent ideas! I wish someone could actually use our ideas and make an amazing mod :P
  6. Ambitions is what great things are made of. Ambitions, and hard work. I like the idea about beggars. And you mentioning Robin Hood actually gave me another idea... If you like playing sneaky, but wanna keep your conscience clean, you could always give your stolen goods to the beggars! Eventually, you can recruit the beggars for your guild. And that way, you can be Dovahkiin Hood (sort of) :P
  7. I am currently hunting for all mods that may make my thieving experience in Skyrim a tad better. Because right now, it's slightly bad, to be honest. So, I enjoy stealthy gameplay and sneaky characters, and I'm currently playing as a thief. However, I want to improve the thievery as much as possible. Any mods that will improve the theft in Skyrim, are greatly appreciated! :D
  8. I approve this project! If I knew how to, I would definitely help you guys out! Good luck, hope this doesn't end up like MERP...
  9. I like playing as a sneaky character in Skyrim, and Thieves Guild ended up as the most interesting faction for me personally. But, as soon as I finished TG's main quests, I started hating everything about it. What's wrong with Thieves Guild? The missions are repetitive, way too short and way too easyThe progress of starting a job, finishing it, and then going back to get paid, is too cumbersomeThe wages are too lowGetting caught inside someone's house doesn't really get you any trouble. At all. Over all, being caught in Skyrim is no big deal at all. So, I came up with an idea. How about being more of an independent thief? Buy yourselves a hideout, and maybe even start your own guild. You choose exactly what places to rob. Also, thefts should be more rewarding. Afaik, most of the houses in Skyrim is not worth robbing at all, considering the most valuable objects you'll ever find are jugs and wine. And robbing them is boring. Instead of robbing cheap houses, I want to be able to rob bigger mansions, stores, banks (?), and museums. Places where there would actually be some security, and places that would get you into trouble if you ever enter them during night-time. Places like the Dwemer Museum in Markarth. That place was interesting, because there were actual guards patrolling the halls, and they would actually catch you if they see you. But still, there where no reason to enter that place, because there's nothing there worth stealing. So, what should be done with the places you rob? They should be pretty big. There should be multiple ways to enter and traverse these places (through the sewer, for example)They should all be guarded. Some traps should be there as wellIt should never be stated what you steal: You steal what you find valuable. The more worthy objects are found deeper into the locations And how do you find these locations? By asking the local black market dealer, of course! There should be one in each hold who can give you locations to the noteworthy places in the holds. The black market dealer should be able to buy all your stolen goods, and therefor he should have a lot of coin. He should also be able to sell you diverse tools which will help you in your heists and burglaries. What kind of tools? Clothing a thief may find useful. Muffling boots, cloaking catsuits, gloves for lockpicking, masks for night vision... And of course: All clothing must be dark as the night!Unbreakable lockpicks a lá the Skeleton KeyVarious helpful potions & poisons: Sleep poison, cloaking potions etc.Sneaky weaponsTools that may help you distract guards So, to sum it all up, here are my ideas: The ability to buy your own hideout, hire thieves and start your own version of the Thieves GuildRob the places you want to rob! They should all be open, big, guarded and rewarding.Sell any stolen goods at the black market What do you think? :D
  10. This is a brilliant idea. It has been a bit of a problem for me as well.
  11. I'm sure most of you've played Grand Theft Auto V. That game has an extremely nifty feature that let's you switch seamlessly between 3 different characters. Why not do the same thing for Skyrim? Let the player create 2 additional characters, whom you can switch to, and not lose your progress. It would all happen on the same save (if possible), and in the same world. The three characters would have different inventories, skills, etc. It would also be cool if all three characters started differently. For example: the first character could start in Helgen as usual, while number 2 starts as a poor farmer in Rorikstead and number 3 is a guard in Solitude. When you switch, the other characters could live their lives, so that they would actually be doing something when you go back to them. Of course, they would not do anything dramatic, like murdering people and changing the world. But maybe, just maybe, they could (for example) be mining or farming by the time you switched back to them. Maybe even having some additional surprises in their inventories. Would a mod like this be possible? I am not much of a modder myself, but I'm sure someone here could pull off something along these lines. I think it would be a great mod, and I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate it!
  12. It didn't really fix my problems :/ I'm sick of trying to do things I can't do right. I'm playing with shitty graphics instead.
  13. I sure seem a bit helpless here, but I can't find the Binary Version of ENB ... :P
  14. That's odd. I'm sure that folder wasn't there at all. But I managed to find enbbloom and enbeffect, so I created a "enbseries"-folder and placed them there. The other two files is nowhere to be found. I'll do a test run now. It still won't work. But I have found something that may have something to do with this problem. You see, this mod requires d3d9.dll (as you can see). I tried to remove it, and now the game runs like normal. The ENB does not work though, and as soon as I put d3d9.dll back in the Skyrim folder, the game crashes. Hm.
  15. I have the Sharpshooter Extreme Graphics Classic ENB. I am 100% sure I've installed it correctly. However, when I launch Skyrim with the mod on, this happens to my menu: http://i.imgur.com/XoHyOxv.jpg And, when I press Continue, the game crashes. What the heck? For the record, here is my Skyrim folder: http://i.imgur.com/AgHrcUg.jpg And my specs: Intel Core i5-3570K @ 3.40GHz 8GB 1600Hz RAM Windows 8.1 x64 Asus GTX770 DirectCUII OC
