If SureAI doesnt win, then the reason could only be Nepotism, Intrigue, or Pandimensional Dæmonick Telepathic Avatars of the Colour Blue from the Zog Galaxy having been recently voted in as our Evil Overlords. Best of otherwise unnecessary luck to you all.

> a house mod that displays "trophies" of things you've actually killed... Well, the Hearthfire DLC gives you an option for a "Trophy Room"... (and you get to build 3 houses...) As for mods - try and find one that doesn't :-} But seriously, i seem to remember a "museum" mod that has acres devoted to just that. I'll try to find it (watch this space) [later] Found three (two of which i haven't used, but look intriguing). Most have displays for artifacts, weapons, armour - mostly; but may have space for wolves, sabrecats, dremora &c if youre lucky... http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/52248/? (Dragonborn Gallery - the museum i was thinking of) http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/37450/? (Aemer's Refuge) http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38392/? (Jaggarsfeld)

Sorry, I appear to be replying to my own posts, but I keep on having more thoughts... If you go with the "Death to Daedra-sympathisers" idea (pally with the rather put-upon Vigilants), then you would miss out on all of the Daedra Quests (see: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Daedric_Quests) unless you convince yourself it is all for the greater good or something. Which will deprive you of some nice loot (and some very questionable stuff). You could always "confiscate" the artifacts and keep them safe (e.g. in DragonReach's basement, or at the bottom of the Sea of Ghosts) unless they are reeeeely handy...

No, it's not the "Why in Oblivion have you just followed me into my house" feature - I find that one rather endearing (depending on the interlocutor). Anyway, as I say, Idle Question - I will assume that it is Dovakiin's Hideout (Which in a previous version had Thalmor continually wandering into the basement - rather unsettling, since I was usually on their to-kill list).
-
I am thinking, having just encountered Savos in Breezehome (the CHEEK!), that it may be to do with ShawK's Excellent Dovahkiin Hideout since that does have "Doors" to all your owned houses (and the college, and the thieves' guild &c) and the doors may "leak" for NPCs (whereas they are locked for you until you own the house/are a member of the faction). This time i have not been to Winterhold/Riften, so I can't use the doors to those unowned/unjoined houses/factions, but they may be able to fall through a trapdoor or something... The only other mods I can think of are one for player quarters in Jorrvaskr (not met them there yet...) and an "easy access" trapdoor to the thieves' guild - y'know - for THOSE tedious yet radiant quests for when I reach Riften. None for Winterhold (specifically) at all...

For your Wood Elf, don't forget the out-of-the-way one tucked waaaaaay down at the bottom of the map: "Kyne's Sacred Trials". Given to you by Froki (remember his bow?) in Froki's Shack (Side of a cliff near Autumnwatch Tower). [PS, just to answer the question I see about Mages College/Hunter playthrough.] It may depend on random events that happen and pique your interest. a) as part of the Main Quest you do get sent to the college. A conversation may strike a chord. (Especially if "Hunting" can be interpreted as "Collect books/artifacts" - but I think that is stretching it a bit) b) If you happen across the random "Fire/Ice Mages Fighting Each Other", then you might suspect some form of Arena-style thing. c) (most plausible) When you meet some Vigilants of Stendarr (as you do) , they will tell you they "Hunt Daedra wherever they may be" (bingo!). Daedra are all extra-planey, and firebally (If your hunter reads the right books (or if You have played Oblivion™, of course)) and you really do need a nodding acquaintance with magic not to die when meeting them. So! Up to the College to learn about Wards et al.

Nothing Game-changing, but for some reason on (almost?) all of my plays-through, I meet two characters out-of place/time who have no business being there: a) Savos Aren - for example in Whiterun (when I first visit and wander around). I may have "heard" of the College by talking to innkeepers, but did not expect to meet him. Dialogue: (Standard for meeting him at the College) "What you learn here will last you a lifetime. Several, if you're talented.". Here? In the market outside the Bannered Mare? b) Wujeeta (sp?) - last time I encountered her in Solitude! "Please help. I'm going to lose my job at the Riften fishery." I'm not surprised - you are a kajillion miles away from getting to work tomorrow... (She does give you her quest if you ask her nicely, though. For what good it does you, since she then evaporates to Oblivion for all I can find her again.) Any idea which (kind of) mods could be causing this? (I have nothing "leaping-out-at-me obvious" installed that changes either of them, or their normal homes/places of work), and my additional mod-followers are pretty much stand-alone. For all I know this could be a long-standing bug from day 1 that nobody comments about...

I have a problem with KillMoves. I do not know whether this is a "Vanilla" issue, or some insane mod-related bug that I have introduced somehow. (Before I install VioLens to try to fix it.) At one point (I only noticed this after Be'sda had "improved" the KillMove cut-scene frequency to "after almost every death" -- many moons ago), I noticed that Kill Moves (the beheading/impaling/eviscerating animation sequence) not only did what I would have expected, but also in the middle of combat it would: a) Not always kill - a "Near-Miss Move" if you like. (I don't mind this). b) Kill, but ALLOW THE OTHER Bandits/Beasts/Draugr/Bees/Fish/Songbirds/&c. TIME TO ADVANCE AND KILL YOU while you are looking at the animation. And presumably being so Smug about Killing The Bunny Rabbit, that you have totally lost the plot, taken your eye off the ball or another metaphor. I don't think I will miss the opportunity to (presumably) jump about, whoop with exhilaration and punch the sky in triumph, if it will prevent me being mauled to death by the rest of the band/pride/ co-intermentship/swarm/shoal/exaltation/whatever they are when they come in economy-sized packs.

In response to post #43549745. > "... Arthmoor, Kris Takahashi, Elianora and Chesko ..." Seconded Also Gopher, but that goes without saying (even though I "say" it above).

@SirSalami Many thanks - problem has "gone away" now, so who knows... I have changed it to "every 7 days" just to remind me...

Fallout 4 nexus; downloading mods: getting unusual "Endorse/Abstain" page that wont go way. Im fairly sure this is new behaviour… recently when down loading (tons of) mods to try out, i am getting that splash pop-up that asks you to evaluate mods i have downloaded in the past - usually so far in the past that i have forgotten what the mod was. Each day i try do do the first three or so pages, and then get an attack of "oh, soddit" and skip. The page recently changed so that i cannot just ignore it, so i started blanket abstaining everything to save time (new game, lots of mod downloads). Today it wont even let me abstain (nor endorse). Is something up, or am i being fairly victimised for my wanton lack of thoughtful feedback?

Excellent! Fully Upvoted and Endorsed (metaphorically speaking). Have a Gold Star. (Site now white-listed with my ad-blocker)

And this, best beloved, is one case where LOL actually meant what it stands for...

Thanks @ChanChan05 BTDTGTTS. I abandoned that idea (I used the "Thalmor Embassy" start) after getting killed/far too side-tracked before getting anywhere near Helgen (You get Killed Very Easily at Dead Mans Respite, not to mention Wolfskull Cave with Added Potema). That's what made me come up with the "Double Agent in the Cart" scenario. Starting in the Embassy, carting to Whiterun (can't get in without paying) and seeing the aftermath at Helgen doesnt solve my problem, really. What i was after rather more was a) including all the nice DragonBorn Shouty stuff (i'm unsure whether your advice included dispensing with being DB at all...) b) how to go about things in the mid- and long-term - both at Solitude and Windhelm and all the adjudication of the Civil War Parley stuff - also shoe-horning a recalcitrant plot into something it was never designed to cater for :-}

Normally i play a compliant goody-two-shoes (with Dark Brotherhood blind-spot). You know, Truth, Justice, Tamrielic way. This time i decided to play a character with an unconventional back-story: Young High Elf (ok 100yo+), novice Thalmor. sent by Thalmor High Command to go deep undercover to further what i am told are the "real" aims of the Thalmor in trying to destabilise Skyrim, soften up any or all sides to further the rule-the-world goals of the Glorious Centauri Aldmeri Republic &c. I am dumped in a cart with a load of plebs (and Ulfric) sent for execution (im sure you know the story*). (And i have been given verbal permission that if necessary, killing Elenwen/slaughtering other Thalmor is OK if absolutely necessary) * And im sure you willl have noticed that this makes the Thalmor complicit in Alduin's attack (and gives them a reason for scheduling the executions for Helgen rather than Cyrodiil) ... Knowing about it beforan? Plotting with Him to do it? Who can say. So far so good. Then i hit a snag: what the <bleep> do i do, and how the bleedin' 'ell do i do it? (And, come to that, what are the "real" aims of the Thalmor - but that is far too big a topic, so don't bother, just what *I* have been told) The first bits are fairly cookie-cutter. Become Dragonborn, grow up and become powerful, assassinate (non-essential) people (undetectably) along the way. Stick spanners in the works of Nords and the Empire getting along. Do i go to Windhelm first, or Solitude? How about the Forsworn? The Afflicted? Nord Bigots? Daedra? The Guilds? Then: Play both sides against the middle? Promise to give the Jagged crown to one side, then give it to the other? Adjudicate unfairly in the Civil War debate? Convince Miraak to work for the Thalmor? --- Simon

Bye!

But catch Gopher's YouTube vids on Mod Organizer. They are very well done for newbs like you (and in fact me a few months ago!)
-
If the numenume thing is after the CBBE and they are both ticked, the the later one will overwrite the CBBE. (Not the best way of doing it - they are not combined/merged into the same mod) but hey, if it works, dont knock it.
-
Do you have both the original mod and the new one under different names in the LH pane?
-
Providing it has THE SAME NAME as another mod, it should come up and say "Ive already got this", at which point you say to merge. (which will leave any files there that are not going to overwritten by the new mod)
-
NOW click "OK"
-
You should now have > data > meshes And a green "LOOKS GOOD" at the bottom (pardon the pun)
-
Good. the "data" on the THIRD line - right click it, and tell it to treat this as the DATA directory.
