  1. question bro.. what if i make a new game w/o a mod.. and install mod after escaping halgen? is that going to work? No, you need a clean install... with my steps.
  2. A clean install takes the pollution out of your data. Reinstalling everything helps, if you read step by step it explains that. This addresses several errors, not just CTD. Just because people want to be lazy and don't want to take the 30 minutes to an hour to do this, then... that's on you. Doing this gives the game a chance to adjust to 1.5 with out conflicts. People need to understand when a game is patched, it's for original content... not for the 1,000 things that are installed in between, of course a patch is going to cause conflicts when there's something in the way of doing what its there for. This is a solution, one of many. In the end, it's the ultimate. YES THIS MAY BE LONG AND PAINFUL, BUT GUESS WHAT!?! It's better then sobbing about not being able to play at all... Don't bash the thread because you don't like the process.
  3. Ok, redownload SKSE and reinstall it. Read the "ReadMe that comes with it.
  4. Ok, before you empty out your "Trash Bin" on your desktop. Go into your bin and restore your older folder, why it asks do you want to replace the ini files make sure you dont over write anything new.
  5. Yes. If you have crucial mods that you want to make sure that's there, I suggest you look at the readme files and see how to manually uninstall those mods. Anything you've downloaded should be in your temp folder by default, unless changed by your self. I keep a copy of everything.
  6. The only reason you're installing these mods, is to make sure you don't get the parser script errors. When you load, do ~console "showracemenu" and change back to default hair, marks or anything else that has to do with loading your character. A game won't load a code that isn't there. as for all of your other mods, after reinstalling nmm after you reinstalled Skryrim... "if you couldn't find your mod folder" here's where you can find your mods. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/members/history.php
  7. Yes, just go to your download history and see what you had installed before. When you're using NMM, if your mods are installed they will not be in your mod folder. You have to uninstall the mods using NMM to enter back into your mod folder. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/members/history.php The mod folder is in the main install, by default. If not look into your NMM and see where the location is set to back up its files.
  8. It's not that bad really, copy and paste "mods" and "savedgames" put them on your desktop. Uninstall Skyrim, delete your Skyrim folder out of "mydocuments/mygames". Uninstall NMM. Restart the PC. Install Skyrim again. Paste the "mod" folder back into your main install. **Read up and see what's not compatible with 1.5** If your game relies on any mods you need to install those only. Start up the game, go into console. "showracemenu" change character back to default, Hair, Scars and war paintings. restart the game with no mods wait 24 hours, let the code work its self back out. ~console savegame "vanilla" Load up with your mods, I suggest a few at a time. Short version of what I posted earlier in this thread.
  9. The link above is to fix all your CTD, I've done it and not had a crash since yesterday which was a huge improvement from every 2 - 15 minutes.
  10. Sorry, I'm quite new to the forums. Thanks!
  11. I posted the steps to fix the 1.5 crashing, please read and follow the steps. http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/628590-fixed-15-crashing/
  12. Sorry for double post, I realized my last post was not posted right. Ok, This is the fix for the 1.5 crashing. I know it seems silly, but it works. You can do it the way you want, but this is the way I did it. Haven't had a crash in hours, I was crashing every few minutes sometimes I could play 15 - 30 minutes and would crash. I tried removing all mods, deleting .ini files, I tried everything. The new patch has a problem parsing with the skyrimpref and the skyrim.ini in "mygames/skyrim" folder. I tried just deleting it and trying to create a new one, didn't work. The audio bs, didn't work... shadows... didn't work... So, I'm going to give you the painful process of NOT crashing anymore, IF it doesn't work for you, I'm sorry. The new patch conflicts with previous mods, ini files and savedgame content. I can't tell you EXACTLY what it is, but this is your solution. 1.Uninstall ALL mods, NMM and Manual mods.(everything needs to be uninstalled to go back into your "mod" folder) 2. Copy mod folder out of your programs/steam/steamapps/skyrim folder, or where ever you have it and place it temporarily on your desktop. 3. Copy "savedgame" folder out of MyDocuments/MyGames/Skyrim folder and copy/paste onto your desktop as well. 4. Uninstall NMM from your computer or what ever Mod Manager you're using.(mods will be on the desktop, I will explain the process in the steps! IT'S SIMPLE!) 5. Uninstall Skyrim. If you're using steam, delete ALL local content.(go into your steamapps folder and make sure all content is gone!) 6. Delete your Skyrim folder out of "MyDocuments/MyGame" 7. (Optional)Restart your system, make sure the computer completely recognizes that it's uninstalled. 8. Do a clean install, if you're using steam the patch should automatically be applied. 9. Once install is complete, reinstall NMM. Now take the mod folder that's on your desktop and put it back into your steamapps/skyrim folder. (Open up NMM and check your mods list, with out a doubt your mods should be there!) 10. Place your savedgame folder from your desktop back into your MyDocuments/MyGames/Skyrim folder.(Should restore all your saves) ****THIS NEXT STEP IS IMPORTANT!!! DON'T GET TO IMPATIENT!**** ****Now you have a clean install with no mods, follow the next steps before adding all your mods back. I tried this the easy way by doing a clean save by new game, it didn't work. I still got the crash mid load or got the script errors.**** ****ALMOST DONE!!! The reason we're doing this is, some mods are compatible with 1.5 and will cause script errors and such. So just uninstall a mod isn't going to work because your character load could rely on replacers or addons that's currently on your save, your game isn't going to load something that's not there.**** 11. (Install these mods only at first, IF they APPLY to you.)**IF** you have any beauty mods ie; scars or hair. install them before you load your game(will give you a script error if you don't, or won't load.) 12. Load the game with the mods I said to select, now.... Open your ~ console, type "showracemenu" Change all your hair, scars or paintings to vanilla settings.(it don't matter which because you'll get them back by doing the same command after this process is over.) 13. now that you've done that, hit your "wait" button, slide it to 24 hours... do it a few times if it makes you feel better. 14. Save and Exit. 15. Uninstall the mods you initially installed to get the game to load. 16. Go back and load into the game you just saved, wait another 24 hours. 17. We're going to save again, but another way. Open your console, do "savegame vanilla" or what ever you want to name it. 18. Reinstall all your mods, you may want to install a few at a time so you can sort out your mods, see if any of them effect your game. Ok, well that's it... I know it was kinda drawn out but these are the steps I had took and it worked. Worked for my brother as well. IT'S WORKED FOR 3 PPL SO FAR, GLUCK!
  13. Ok, to start off with... I've been crashing for two days now, It was pretty irritating. These steps may be long, could be shorter but I want to make sure every has the chance to enjoy their game like I do. I haven't posted anything on here really, but I want to contribute to something! :) I learning all the programs and taking the tutorials. I do a lot, i mean a lot of work in Adobe. 14. So, I've been messing with my game for about 2 days now. I have about 50 mods and was NOT going to tinker with 50 of them to see what it was. Few mods I can point out, 2k TOWN TEXTURES, 2K MISC TEXTURES, and Abodes. These mods seem to make the game crash, and I've read several, I mean several threads and different sites to figure out the crashing problem. I removed the texture mods for Towns and I've yet to crash for an hour, haven't crashed yet.
