Didn't do the trick in my case. Had to extract the soundfiles. well, eldercrollswikia has got a bunch of solutions for this case, I took the least intrusive - and voila! - it worked.

Remove both files, then launch the game via SkyrimLauncher.exe, the game will again detect your graphics and set appropriate settings and new unmodified Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini will be automatically created. And this really fixes the issue with Esbern.

When exploring draugr-infested areas (like barrows, crypts e t.c.) there are lots of "sleeping" draugrs (the ones that lie in the niches and "wake up" once you passed them (or hit them)) - always kill them in the stealth mod. Firstly, it allows you to level-up sneak fast, secondly, a bigger chance you kill it in one hit. An interesting thing, especially for vampire-style characters: at Silent Moons Camp (northwest from Whiterun, one of the places where you need to kill bandits for the jarl of Whiterun for bounty) there's a Lunar forge. Iron and steel weapons that are crafted there automatically get a Lunar enchantment - additional damage when moons are out. Also useful to earn money if your character is poor enchanter. Visit Halted Stream camp north of Whiterun (you get there if you take quest from redguard Amren to retrieve his sword). There are 15 iron ore veins and a Spell tome: Transmutation to convert iron ore into gold ore.

Is it possible to get super rich without alchemy?
Patronus replied to SpellAndShield's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
As I said, Solitude has got both altars at the temple of divines, Markarth has also got Dibella altar at the Temple of Dibella. The other shrines, I'm afraid, are located out of the cities and I don't remember for the exact locations, I don't care much for getting all possible bonuses when selling the loot. I use Dibella's amulet and gift of charity mostly. And a potion of haggling (also gives better prices) if I have any. -

I can't really say how the alchemy is the best (I mean fastest) way to get rich since I haven't met any merchant with more than 1100 gold, but it's for sure the best in the ratio of item weight and value. But personally I earned money in another way: I collected all the daggers i was finding in the loot, enchanted it with petty, lesser and common soulgems (also had plenty of them and since I used a bound sword they were always full). Thus I reached two goals - level-up enchanting and earn enough money to buy all the houses in the game I wanted. You can also try crafting jewellery. It's also pretty easy to find components - gold ore can be transmuted from iron ore using transmute spell. And there are many gems in the loot or found as products of ore-mining. But this can get pretty boring if you don't have a lot of magicka. Also a good way in the beginning of the way is to earn money chopping the firewood. I spent something like 20 real-life minutes chopping the wood to earn 3000 i was lacking to buy the first house in the game. This is also a pretty boring process, but you can have a cup of tea whilst doing so ;) And a useful tip - since the prices are affected by speechcraft - don't forget to go get blessing of Zenithar (10% better prices) or Dibella (+15 speechcraft), also get a blessing if there's an altar near (for example, if you're in Solitude, there are altars of 8 divines) and find a local beggar and give him/her a coin) - Gift of charity - another +10 speechcraft temporarily. Of course, you don't need all these if you are selling porions worth something like 5k gold, since the merchants don't have sufficient funds anyway. -
How to do mainquest without joining guilds
Patronus replied to Zlayerzz's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
Yes, instead of speaking to Brynolf you can just speak to argonian female bartener of the Bee and barb, or even skip that and go straight into the ratways and beat Esbern's location out of the Ragged Flagon's guard. For those, who find Esbern voiceless: for me deleting Skyrim.ini and Skyrimprefs.ini did the trick -
I may be wrong, but I think Mjoll shares voice with some of the female guards. so there are two possibilities - either she was mistakenly included in the same group as the female guards, or this phrase was just said by some female guard with the same voice and you thought it was Mjoll.

Normally, legate shouldn't be there. Instead, there should be only the guards who will arrest you. Here's a description of solving this bug from elderscrolls.wikia.com

First try removing Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini. This is what helped me.

A little help please (Iron ingots and wotnot)
Patronus replied to deadman3000's topic in Skyrim's Skyrim LE
You got that part of my advice about armor wrong. I wasn't referring to just any armor. I was referring to specific fire-resistance enchanted armor, if you have any. If you don't... well, only potions then. -

I disagree, there are better ways to raise smithing and earn at the same time. All you need to do is collect all the pelts you find in your travels (there are plenty of animals and plenty of pelts found in loot) - wolf pelts, bear pelts, sabre cat pelts e t.c. you need to make leather and leather strips of them at the tanning rack. Try to make equal number of leather and leather strips . For example, you have 10 leather, you make 8 leather strips out of 2 leather and you've got 8 leather left. Then start making leather bracers until you're out of leather strips. with 4 leather and 8 leather strips you can make 4 bracers. Then upgrade all the bracers with th 4 leathers you've got left. Allright, you get the principle. Why i recommend not only crafting, but also upgrading - because it seems to me that upgrading improves your skill more. -

Halted stream camp's cave north of Whiterun has got a lot of iron ore veins. You can easily find that place if you take a quest in Whiterun from a redguard called Amren to retrieve his sword from that camp. If you have troubles finding ore veins, install glowing ore veins mod from nexus, you'll start finding veins even outside of mines and caves occasionally. You also can install a mod called Vals crafting meltdown - It will allow you smelt all kind weapons and armor into ingots at the smelter. As for defeating hagraven itself - well, it was kinda easier for me as I'm a breton mage. I used their ability to absorb hagraven's spells avoiding damage and transforming it into mana for myself, hagraven almost stood no chance. If you're playing a warrior - try wearing some armor and drink potions with fire resistance effect - it will protect you against fireballs. Or you can try shoot-and-hide tactic with the bow. And bring a follower with you. -
If you meant putting them out of the misery by slaughtering the entire city - sure, it's the way, but if you really want to help the city out - it's not the way. After all, forsworn are some sort of maniacs. I found that they make some creepy experiments (I met several their Briarhearts - the guys with cut-out heart replaced with briar and brought to life with some sort of necromancy). Maybe you can. After becoming a thane there's an option to tell guards "I'm a Thane" and they reply "ok, I'll look the other way". Not sure if this will work when i try to murder 3 thalmor ambassadors. --- Updated - Yes, you definately can! I went into the understone keep at night, found the thalmor in the back room and slayed them right there. The guards tried to arrest me. When I said I'm the Jarls Thane, they let me go, though warned that next time even being a Thane might not save me (in other words, but they ment so).

That's not what I was saying. I know you can get the quest at any time. The question is, does the ring bug work if the quest is taken when you're already not a werewolf? This article claims there's a glitch that allows to transform into werewolf even if lycanthropy is cured after the ring is obtained. The thing is, I don't know if it allows to do the same if lycanthropy is cured before the ring is obtained. Also note that it's probably a glitch, so after one of Bethesda's patches it might stop working.

There's a possibility (or a bug?), but I haven't tested it so I can't guarantee it to work. Complete Hircine's quest to get Ring of Hircine as reward. This ring allows you to transform into werewolf as many times as you want. It is also said to let you transform into werewolf after lycanthropy has been cured. But I'm not sure if it's ok for you to get the ring now or you had to get it before lycanthropy is cured. If this works, perhaps it's even better to cure lycanthropy and get the ring - you'll be able to transform and still get the sleeping bonus. To start the quest to obtain Ring of Hircine, go to Falkreath and speak to Mathies Caerellia.
