Bought Skyrim a few months after release, put 200 hours into it on PS3, reached Paarthurnax. At the time, I had some preoccupations and I never got back into the Skyrim groove and never tried any of the DLC. I'll admit that I "acquired" a PC version to check out the modding scene, and it's even better than Fallout 3 and New Vegas. Still, even after checking out ENBs and UNPs, I just couldn't get into it...but now...Legendary edition is coming, and I have it and the hardcover guide pre-ordered. Oblivion GOTY gave me close to 700 hours of entertainment on the 360 for $20, and I intend to prepare Skyrim for a similar life draining experience. I've read and briefly used S.T.E.P and G.E.M.S, but that was pre-dragonborn and before I really cared about 100% functionality, clean installs, proper mod management and everything else. Once I get Skyrim again, I want to get as close to the "perfect" gameplay experience as possible. Lore-friendly in a general sense; No lasers or ponies. My rig can handle any mod and manage to keep the game at least playable, but I'm not looking for extreme super ultra 20,000 x 20,000 textures. Using S.T.E.P taught me that Medium, Lite and Performance are all fantastic improvements over Vanilla, and that Ultra and High are by no means necessary for drastic improvement. I'm aware of G.E.M.S and S.T.E.P. I'm looking for mods to install that will work with all the content Skyrim has to offer, from when I create my character to when I decide that I am "done" the game. I'm aware of aMiridian's work, body replacements (although they appear to be a lot more complicated than just choosing one), a lot of the "Better X" mods which are all great, and various texture replacers, SkyUI and a handful of others from the top 100 of all time. What I'm looking for is some simple guidance. What works well for someone who wants to sink a LOT of time into a single character, for someone that doesn't necessarily need massive textures but appreciates well done texture replacements, someone who is finally ready to do some reading to make sure everything works properly? I understand that a lot of this is vague, and I understand that pirates are less than welcome in Bethesda communities. Please, be as direct as possible when asking questions. I'm finally paying for the game once again, and I'm looking to you guys to help me out with augmenting my gaming experience. Here's a corgi catching a snowball. http://i.imgur.com/nxOjvUL.gif
