  1. Hi again Grey. Ok, it looks like I'm going to need to get some information from you.

The first thing, is what version of the game do you have installed? You can find this out, by going into your Fallout4 folder, right clicking on Fallout4.exe, then clicking on Properties. A box will open up with some tabs along the top. Click on the tab that says Details. The screen in that box will change and you will see what says version details. That's the number that I need to know.

Next thing I need to know is if you are using a mod manager, and if so... which one.

I will need to know your load order. This is the list of mods that use esp, esl and esm files that are installed into your game.

The easiest way to get that, is to go into your C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Fallout4 You will probably not have a folder called Admin in your Users folder. Unless that is the name that you type in, when you go to log into your computer. The name of the folder you'll be looking for will be whatever name you use to log into said computer.

In this fallout4 folder, you will have a file named Plugins.txt. Double click that and choose to open it with notepad.

Now hold down the CTRL key (located to the left of your SPACE bar) and tap your A key. That will highlight everything on that page. Now, still holding down the CTRL key, Tap the C key. That will Copy Everything that you have highlighted.

You can now paste the list into a post here on the forums. So I can see what you have as far as mods.

Thank you for the detailed instructions.

I have to correct something I overlooked. I'm using Vault Girl mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/38220?tab=description) that changes certain HUD and Pip-Boy animations and icons. It's plugin-free and doesn't require DEF_UI or HUDFramework; it only changes animation files. It still counts as an HUD mod, right?

I use game version 1.10.163.0. and Nexus Mod Manager version 0.71.1.

  2. Hullo hullo.

Thanks for the information Grey. That helps alleviate the theories that I had going on from your first post.

Before I get to the rest of it, I'll just go ahead and touch on what you were asking about the ba2 files. I've seen some users that have up around the area of 500 ba2 files in their data folder and then start experiencing problems from it.

Another way to get around that is to unpack the ba files, and leave them as loose files. Tho, you have to make sure that you have the exact right folder structure for that to work. (This is also one reason why some mod authors ((MA's)) have an optional file for loose files.)

Ok, are you using any race mods?

Are you using any Hud mods?

Do you fight using VATS a lot?

    Or bullet time?

Also, are you using this mod? https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/42497 to make sure that you don't have game version vs mod version conflicts?

Not sure I understand what a race mod is.

    No HUD mods.

I use VATS mostly when I'm out of combat. It's not practical in an intense situations with Better Locational Damage running. The game has never frozen in VATS or around using it.

I do have a bullet time mod installed (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9325) and use it occasionally. Again, the game has never frozen while using it or immediately after.

I don't use Version Check Patcher.

  3. Hi grey!

There's a couple of things that I think might be happening here. And I don't think that your character's level has anything to do with it, but it's more along the timing of it.

From the sounds of it, it sounds like your saves might be going back bad with baked in script failures. And it's just taking that long, before it gets to the point that the game can't use your saves anymore.

As for the heavy gunfight combat... is your computer up to spec for what this game requires? Do you experience any other big FPS drops anywhere or anytime else (Downtown Boston is kind of an exception to what I'm asking. Unless you're running a really great computer, Downtown is a hard hit for many computers).

Also, it's a bad idea to permanently remove mods, especially a bunch of them, in the middle of a playthrough. Because if you're removing mods that have scripts in them, that have been used by the game, those scripts are written into your save game. And can't be removed. Since the mod is no longer there, those scripts are now orphaned. And will cause save game corruption.

Edit 2- Are you using any mods that affect your perks, or specials? That might be related to the level problem.

I'm running a few script-based mods; the biggest ones are Better Locational Damage and Flashy(JoeR) - Crime and Punishment. I installed the latter for this new playthrough, and the issue I've described had happened without it. Also, before starting a new playthrough, I removed about ten or twelve mods I wasn't actively using; some people said the game has a limit to how many BA2 archives can be loaded at once, and those I removed were mostly with BA2 archives (also with LL integration if it matters).

I have occasional 1 or 2-second FPS dips when entering exterior cells with a lot of NPCs doing a lot of things but the freezes consistently happen only when a large number of enemies are actively hostile against me, whether it's an exterior or an interior cell. In a big dungeon, like East Boston Prep School or Gunners Plaza, if I let the enemies know I'm there as I've just entered, it's very likely to freeze.

In this playthrough I have not removed any mods (or installed any new ones), including the script-based mods. I'm aware that certain mods should stay installed from the beginning and that removing them may cause all sorts of issues. The authors usually have a warning in the mod description.

  4. For some reason(s) I start experiencing frequent freezes whenever I'm in intense combat situations with humans. If there are lots of raiders or gunners and they're shooting at me, the game is almost guaranteed to freeze. It hasn't happened, when I played stealthily. It appears to only start happening after level 20 or so; maybe a level or two later. I started a playthrough on survival difficulty, and I never experienced this issue on lighter difficulties - was able to reach level 50 and higher.

I haven seen a single similar bug report on any of the mod pages I'm using. I tried deleting mods I had installed before switching to survival, but it didn't help. I can't think of anything that's causing it.

  5. e1grey-

Ok, so I manually downloaded the mod, and extracted the contents into the folder that I DL'd it into.

I then manually CnP'd two of the .esp files into my data folder.

    VATST_KCCAdd_KillCamOff

    VATST_BulletFlyAdd_x3Faster

I started by enabling the KillCamOff esp.

Hopped on my cheat character, and headed out to the shooting range, to put down some raiders.

That mod works. It.... definitely works. Up to a point. There's two, well... 3.... issues that cause it not to work.

If you target more than 3 mobs at a time, it will still show the killcam on the 3rd mob somtimes, and the 4th mob always. And any mobs targetted after that. So it's got a limit of 3 targets, then it breaks.

Having to reload between targets, breaks it.

Rocket launchers. Yes, you can vats target with a missle. All 3 rockets showed the killcam. Soooo ummmm.... yeah. Missle launchers are completely unaffected by the killcamoff portion of this mod. Which is ok. I can personally stand to see a rocket go flying into somebodys face and watch it blow their head to smithereens, hahahaha.

I did test the mod with some crappy weapons that would take multiple shots to put down the threat. It doesn't matter how many times you have to shoot them, you only see them fall down in cinematic, if you have more than 3 targets, don't have to reload, and aren't shooting missles.

Ok, so after testing every weapon that I could think of, including a FAT MAN, I moved on with the other mod.

Ballistic weapons. I wish that I could have made a video of this. It was sweet.

Hit Vats. Target Three Mobs with my 50cal silenced SCAR. Bip, Bip Bip. I stay crouched 3rd person the whole time, three vapor trails fire out, first two hit the ground and are dead before the first shell casing hits the ground. DONE.

Automatic weapons, take a bit longer. Especially Gatlings. Mostly due to the auto animations involved.

Energy weapons. Vast improvement, but the crappy damage usually means you have to take several shots, which slows it down. But it's still very satisfactory.

Ok. Now. One thing I really DO wanna mention.

    The Fusillade. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/32114

    With these two mods running.....

    Thoomp

    Thoomp

    Thoomp

OOMG, I think I just had a childish accident!

    It works. It definitely works.

Thanks a lot for the info.

If it doesn't work exactly to a value, I should probably refrain from edits. I have a relatively stable game, and I'm afraid it might do harm.

  6. heya e1grey. Yeah, I know what you mean. I mod out a lot of my guns to make it so that the bullet animation flashes by super fast, but I don't know how to get the death to hurry up. So they end up standing there, or doing what they're doing for a moment or two, then get the blood splatter, and then very, very slowly fall over. So even if nobody is willing to do all the editing, I'd surely like to know how to do it, for personal use!

It's an edit to the weapon itself. Or it's aim model, can't remember for sure at the moment, for the projectile speed.

BTW, you do know you can multi-target in vats? As long as you have enough AP for the shots, you can shoot as many targets that are within your VATS hit range.

Ok, just did a bit of searching. There's a modular mod, that affects what's called the KillCam (which is what we're complaining about) https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1064 the mod is abandoned, but I don't see any posts recently, about it not working. I may search more for "killcam" or "kill" Later, when I have some more time.

The mod you linked to seems to do too many things, and the description isn't clear for me. It's not explained in plain words what each tweak affects, and what happens in the game. The videos weren't helpful either.

I hope it's not a weapon edit because it would mean I'd have to change values in all of the weapons including the mods I have installed. If it's a simple value edit in Game Setting, it would be great because I already have a V.A.T.S plugin from Better Locational Damage mod; I could just add an edit there.

  7. There's a mod for FNV called FasterVATS. It shortens the time it takes for an enemy to get hit and die on camera when aiming with V.A.T.S. In the vanilla game It looks idiotic because when there's more than one enemy to shoot I just stand there and wait until each one of them dies in slo-mo, while his friends keep shooting me and I have to watch myself impassively eating bullets. I can (and, I'm sure, many other players can) shoot enemies much more efficiently in real time rather than in V.A.T.S.

I do have a mod that allows moving in V.A.T.S, so I can somewhat dodge some of the enemies' bullets, but the waiting between the shots is still there. It looks especially stupid when attacking enemies on the quiet. Like, why would you wait for them to spot and shoot you, when it's possible to kill them all in quick succession, Sam Fisher style?

Is it possible to make a similar mod for Fallout 4? Or perhaps it already exists but I can't find it because it doesn't have a self-explanatory name?

  8.

This is just like... wtf I mean really? how many will pay for it seriously?

Go read the official Bethesda FO76 forums, the fanbois are creaming over this

"This is only $8.33 a MONTH!!! That's less than I spend on a Movie!!!" etc etc

This type of behavior seems more mestirious to me than that of sadistic serial killers. I mean, at least I can assume that serial killers were deprived of love when they were little, or even abused, or something. What sort of life does one need to live to react so positively to this news?

  9. A good chance for me to ask why so many people prefer to be vocal about it instead of just refraining from purchase? I spent some money on MTXs in Metal Gear V, learned my lesson, and never bothered spending money on anything other than the base game and reasonably sized and priced expansions. Every time I hear people complain, I want to tell them, "Just don't buy it, and move on to something you find interesting."

  10. i should re-iterate, that version 1.0 of that mod was making every weapon freeze the game for me upon equipping them, even vanilla weapons, such as the assault rifle and combat shotgun.

1.02 completely solved the issue for me.

as such i recommend trying 1.02, if that is indeed the cause, as 1.03 might of brought the issue back.

Apparently it has brought it back. I've played without the BCR mod for several hours on different saves and it didn't freeze once, while it used to freeze within the first few minutes of playing. Thanks for your help.

  11. i have had this issue, it was caused by an older version of Bullet Counted Reloads: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/41178

however since downloading the newer version of that (1.02 was the version that fixed it for me), it fixed the issue completely

however, if said mod is not relevant then i would suspect either animation mods (specifically to do with guns, equipping, un-equipping, reloading etc etc)

Mod Conflict (again any mod that would affect weapons in anyway, although their is some bizarre mod conflicts with guns, that you would never think to be a conflict.)

or insufficient memory (either caused by high res textures, or simply being in very memory intensive locations, such as downtown boston, causing Vram to run out, which results in problems). and the most ovbious would be having an actual low Vram Capacity on your GPU, as in having less available Total Vram, that your modding setup would require

if the Vram Runs out, the game will then use the much slower System Ram, if that also runs out, the game will Crash, and quite possibly your Entire System as well. however for this too happen (For High End Systems that have a lot of Vram and System Ram), would require a very extreme modding setup, as in every single thing being at maximum detail, such as 4K + Textures for absolutely everything, or simply Higher Resolution Monitors, which will use memory very quickly and much more of it.

being inconsistent would more likely be a memory issue, as animation mods would be 100% repeatable, where as with memory based issues, it will be inconstant as it will be determined on resource intensive locations. example, santucary will be low memory usage, as opposed to downtown boston, where the memory usage will increase by a lot.

Running High Res textures (2k and Especially 4K and Beyond will increase Memory usage by a lot and at a much faster rate as you go from areas with loads of textures to other areas with even more textures,

and if said textures are uncompressed, this will dramatically increase Memory Usage.

I have the latest version of Bullet Counted Reload System (1.03) installed, and the patches for Right-Handed Lever Action Rifle and Sjogren Inertia. The game freezes even with vanilla weapons (with no vanilla HD or replacer vanilla textures), and in the most FPS-friendly locations (like Sanctuary, Railroad HQ, etc.). I'll uninstall BCR system and see how the game runs without it. I don't use those weapons much anyway. I downloaded it because it's one of those mods that makes the game make a little more sense.

    Thank you.

  12. When equipping a weapon either via hot key, or through pip-boy menu, the game freezes.

It's the first time I encountered this issue, and it started happening recently - two or three days ago, mid-playthrough. The mods I've installed in the past week were all re-texture mods, but it happens even with the weapons unaffected by those mods. The issue is inconsistent. Sometimes it happens in first person, other times it may happen in 3rd person, then other times it doesn't happen even if I cycle through my weapons on purpose.

    Has anybody had this issue?

  13.

Obsidian's new game, The Outer Worlds, seems to have some Fallout-like qualities.

i just checked the trailer, and i have to say, i am liking what i am seeing, Comedy, pretty Solid Graphics, and what i can only imagine will be Obsidian Quality Story Telling.

it may not be fallout, but this could be the fallout we should of got or possibly will get.

i will definitely be keeping an eye out for this game.

i really hope the corporation is called the institute just for the absolute lolz.

Not looking forward to Outer Worlds either. It seems that every RPG absolutely has to be set in a world of swords and magic, in space or in post-apocalyptic world. Why can't we have an RPG in late 20th century with police and criminals? Like GTA but an RPG. Cyberpunk 2077 probably comes closest to what I'd like to play, but still it has probably got all sorts of magic devices and augmentations.

  14. open all Location Mods (the ones you listed) in Fo4Edit. right click on any mod (Left Pane Window), and click on check *Apply Filter For Cleaning*

now look for any mod with a red background and forground, this will indicate conflicts. (by clicking on the plus sign next to each mod, expand all record entries, until you find the a red background and forground, click on the record entry that has said red background and forground, look on to the right pane window, and you will see what mod(s) it is conflicting with all mods that are conflicting, will also be in red on the right pane window.

"Apply Filter For Cleaning" thing is no longer available according to a dialog window that appears when trying to select it in the context menu.

  15. Hi.

I recently started a new playthrough and decided to install a few new-location mods (interiors and exterior objects). I've had a few issues with some of them, and the problem is that the issues don't show immediately, and some of the mods have been updated and other may have been outdated and are not compatible with each other anymore. Basically, I want to ask if anyone's running a bunch of these mods together and have tested them for compatibility, bugs, and if there's an optimal load order for them.

    I'm currently running:

    Lexington Interiors

    Minutemen Watchtowers

    Concord Expanded 2.0

    Stumble Upon Interiors

    Salem Expanded

    The Lost Vault

    South of the Sea

    Inside Jobs

    MsRae's Commonwealth Interiors

I'm also running Thuggysmurf's quest mods that add a few new interiors and edit exterior cells: Fusion City Rising, Outcasts and Remnants, Project Valkyrie and Depravity.

I also tried Fort Hagen Expanded but it caused immediate CTDs upon loading, so uninstalled it. It may have been not the mod itself, but a compatibility or a load order issue.

    I'm planning to try:

    The Wild Wasteland

    Shank's Interiors Project

    N.E.S.T Survival Bunkers

    Commonwealth Underground and Forgotten Spaces

  16. Mhm, I like the german main character voice actors of Fallout 4 (bot male and female). Don't remember yet the english ones, but the english piper voice is dope for me. Wish I could add her english lines somehow to my german game^^, but I haven't found yet her english files online. She has one of those seductive female voice where a man runs for willingly in a circular saw if she demands it :blushes: .

    Â

Also don't see the future so dark guys, until the games are there. And even if the worst case happen, we still can play Fallout 4 and Skyrim thanks to mods.

    Â

Fallout 4 is not that old yet, but if I look at Skyrim - there waits still a ton of fun for everyone in this game and I bet it will also be the same one day with Fallout 4, -when all the big mods coming closer to a release.

Piper got lucky with her Japanese voice actress as well. She sounds very energetic and passionate about what she believes in.

The female sole survivor in Japanese version sounds terrible to me - like the English version of the male protagonist, she sounds like a typical mother character.

  17.

The whole industry has gone mad.

I feel similar about it, and starting to think of myself as being out of touch with modern gaming. This type of thing has already happened with movies in their time. I've got so used to being disappointed in games by now that I don't wait anything good from the forthcoming releases. Not even Cyberpunk 2077 or Death Stranding, that so many people seem to be hyped about right now, get me excited. Fallout 4 is the only game I'm playing now, and I wouldn't have touched it again after two walkthroughs, had there not been Start Me Up and BLD, and a ton of other great mods. Perhaps they spoiled me in a sense that I now look at gameplay previews and can't but see stuff that could be improved, corrected or added to, which the developers most likely aren't going to bother doing.

  18. Fallout 4 - there's a ton of expansion mods coming (F4 New Vegas, Capital Wateland, Miami, etc.)

Any of the upcoming games similar to F4 (Cyberpunk 2077, etc.) are only worth playing if they will support modding. Ever since I learned about modding in F4, no game seems as good as it can be with modding.

  19. I never liked them as green as well...

I'm not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but I made a mod a while back called SUPERMUTANT RE-TEXTURE, that gave them an unhealthy grey/pink skin to look more human-like rather than the green 'Hulk' skin they originally had..

Well, they now all look like the Amazing Bulks, but a little darker. It's still better than green.

I could've probably change the color myself, but the problem is that they're green initially. I don't think there's a way to make it brighter without it looking unnatural. It requires a new texture, and I have no idea how to work with something like that.

    Thanks again.

  20. at least of 1 of them files should of worked (Especially the instructions i included) or at least made a difference, which means the issue is probably files not being replaced Properly (probably something preventing them).

or the files are simply having their changes Reversed/Undone <-- this is definitely possible, this can be triggered by many things, such as, Pressing CTRL + Z (Keyboard Input that Undoes any Changes Made, this can literally undo any change (within reason), including file replacement, removal of text, etc etc, it can also Restore text, and Undelete files as well. however this Input only works on any Previous Actions made in a single Session, As soon as the Computer is Reset or Shutdown, this now resets the actions, and thus you can longer Undo changes Prior to Resetting or Shutting Down the Compuer. but likewise will now have the ability to undo any changes you make in what is a now a New Computer Session)

other things that can potentially undo changes are: Windows Security (including Anti Virus, Anti Malware, etc etc), Malware, Trojans, Harddrive issues, Keyboard Issues, all of which can Undo Any Changes Made, etc etc, many possible things can cause this, but the likely hood is pretty slim (Aside from User Input of Course), but still it is very possible (taking into consideration all things that can cause this).

    Possible Solution #1

    so the last questions*:

are you using Windows 10, and is your Game Installed to the Same Partition as Windows (Typically C:Drive)

if so the only other thing to do would be to move your Fallout 4 Installation on to Another Partition, if you use windows 10, as their is a lot of problems having other stuff (Especially Games like Fallout and Skyrim, with regards to mods and third party software) being installed on the same Drive as Windows 10, it is overly protective of anything installed on the same drive as it, which is good for security wise, but bad for User Convenience

so putting your fallout 4 onto another partition will ensure no issues, but that will require effort, and comes with a risk that it may or may not make difference. so it really depends on if you can indeed live with the issue.

or if you want the hassle of potentially starting again from scratch, but having a much higher success rate <-- only if your fallout 4 installation is placed on another partition that Does Not have the OS on it (windows 10) for example.

    its entirely down to you.

    Possible Solution #2

    aside from all of that

then the only things that remain are:

is your game definitely setup for modding:

That means this file must exist Fallout4Custom.ini <-- which must be present here: C:\Users\Computer Name\Documents\My Games\Fallout4

and inside said file this must exist:

    [Archive]
    bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
    sResourceDataDirsFinal=
if it is not, then Create Fallout4Custom.ini inside the fallout 4 folder, that is found in the address i mentioned a bit above this, and inside that file copy and paste this bit below, into said file:

    [Archive]
    bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
    sResourceDataDirsFinal=

Note: if absolutely none of the above apply or work, then i am completely out of ideas.

I am playing on Windows 10, and it's on C: drive (an SSD, if it matters). Moving the game to another partition (or a separate drive) is, unfortunate, not an option for now. I only came back to the game a few weeks ago after an 8-month break, and it took me way too much time to set everything up, and re-learn certain things, and don't feel like going through it again. The game is more or less stable, and I'm ten hours in on three different characters. As long as the issue is only with a few vanilla outfits, I'm fine with it. The game has a new problem every time I install it. I guess, it's just what one has to deal with playing Fallout.

  21. It didn't work unfortunately. I tested it an existing save game and on a new game, and with rebuilt armor in bodyslide, as you instructed.

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1873484833

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1873484920

    https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1873484968

On the screenshots above, the character is wearing Army Fatigues, and the armor behaves the same way with Military Fatigues (as well as with some other vanilla outfits).

  22. hmm. it seems like every possible cause for the issue is not applicable here. so if you really are using bodyslide properly, then their really is no answer to the problem.

all possible causes are as followers:

    1. Virtual Drive

    2. Unique Player Mod(s) <-- or similiar mods.

    3. User Error (As in Not Using Bodyslide properly)

    4. Bodyslide not Setup Correctly

    5. Mesh folder potentially Locked, Thus Preventing Modifications to the Files inside this Folder, this would be caused by Security Software, such as Windows Defender or Anti Virus (Quite Possible if the Game is Installed on the same Partition as Windows).

    6. Insufficient Application Privileges - Again this would be Security Based. Basically an Application Might not have Access Privileges to Files and Folders. in other words it wont be able to Modify Files in Folders (In this scenario Bodyslide might not have access Privileges to the Mesh Folder, it could load the mesh files, but not modify them.)

    7. Missing or Insufficient Bodyslide Files.

    8. CBBE and Or Bodyslide not installed properly (Quite Possible if installed Via a Mod Manager)

so the last thing to try: Run Bodyslide As Administrator, Then Batch Build all Outfits Again

also None of your mods seem like they would cause the issue, so we can rule out mods as a potential cause.

I tried running Bodyslide as administrator - it didn't work, the armor hovers, even with your mod installed. Actually, it appears as if your mod stopped working, because I tried it with or without building the outfits, and it didn't affect the hovering.

I also tried copying the meshes (and by their properties, they seemed identical) to the game folder directly, and it didn't work either.

Well. I don't know. I guess I can live with it. And I learned a thing or two from you. Thanks a lot for your help.

  23. the only thing now then is i can think of is 2 possible scenarios.

    1. Virtual Drives, if you are using a mod manager that uses virtual drives, (Vortex, Mod Orgaziner 2) that in itself can cause issues, and would likely be a potential culprit (i know vritual drives have potentional issues with Bodyslide and CBBE, i have seen it before, Due to the fact that virtual drives will be where most relevant data is, and ofcourse CBBE and edits to meshes will be in the Data Folder of Fallout 4, so that potentially causes issues) if the game favors loading stuff from the Virtual Drive, which would have original mesh files for armor and clothing due to Fallout 4 Master Files, that in itself could easily override any changes made using Bodyslide and Outfit Studio. the Virtual Drive would ofcourse have Fallout 4 Master Files placed in it, which means the Virtual Drive would have access to the Ba2 Archives of Fallout 4 (which contains absolutely everthing, including Vanilla Mesh Files for all Armor and Clothing). Virtual Drives would take priority over the Fallout 4 Data Folder, so in this instance, the Master Files could have Higher Priority then Any Changes made in the Fallout 4 Data Folder (Bodyslide Files) so basically Vanilla Content would have High Priority then Modded Content, thus Overrides. (this only applies to any mod that is Not An ESP or ESM file.) so any mod that does not Contain an ESP or ESM would not override Vanilla content in this scenario. mesh files, do not have an ESP or ESM attached to them.

so just to narrow it down on my thought of this, Fallout 4 ESM files will be Loaded in the Virtual Drive, this will load the Ba2 archives for Fallout, which contains all Original Vanilla Content, Especially Mesh and Texture Files for everything fallout, Armor and Clothing in this example, now Bodyslide modifies the mesh files, but only in the Data Folder of Fallout. these modified mesh files does not have an ESP or ESM attached to them, where as the Vanilla Mesh files do, (Fallout 4.ESM) now without using virtual drives this does not matter, because the game would only load from its Data Folder, so edits will always override vanilla content, as Loose Files Have Much Higher Priority then Ba2 Files thus they will override always,

So it Really Depends if the Virtual Drive Has Higher Priority then the Fallout 4 Data Folder. and exactly how much higher priority it has. as if it has too much, it could infact override everything in the data folder and thus nullify anything inside the Data Folder, as all mods realistically would be installed in the Mod Manager, thus installed to the Virtual Drive.

Note: all of the above is not factual, i am simply stating how i believe this all could work with regards to Virtual Drives. 1 thing i do know for fact however, is that Convenience always comes at a Price, the Convenience in this case is the Fallout 4 Data Folder Remains Clean, and the Price for this, means stuff is not guaranteed to work as intended.

    2. and secondly the other situation i can think of would be: Mods overriding changes.

so are you using any of said mod managers ?

and can you post your mod list, so i can see if their is any potential mod that is overriding mesh changes.

lastly, when you downloaded my mods, did you definitely place them at the very bottom of your load order and enabled them. so they can override any potential other mod that makes changes to armor and or clothing, this includes Armorsmith Extended.

any mod that makes changes to any aspect of particular content, then counts as an override to other mods that also modify the same particular content based on where it is placed in the load order, so say a mod edits the armor rating of clothing, this mod if placed lower in the load order then another mod that for example removes the armor scaling, will override the mod that removes armor scaling, because even though both mods do not edit the same value, they do edit the same armor and or clothing, and this is where mod priority comes into play.

I'm using the latest version of NMM.

Yes, I put your mods at the very bottom of my load order. I heard that shuffling load order mid-playthrough may cause issues, so I always put new mods at the end unless I'm planning to start a new game.
