  1. Thank you for the detailed instructions. I have to correct something I overlooked. I'm using Vault Girl mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/38220?tab=description) that changes certain HUD and Pip-Boy animations and icons. It's plugin-free and doesn't require DEF_UI or HUDFramework; it only changes animation files. It still counts as an HUD mod, right? I use game version 1.10.163.0. and Nexus Mod Manager version 0.71.1. My load order:
  2. Not sure I understand what a race mod is. No HUD mods. I use VATS mostly when I'm out of combat. It's not practical in an intense situations with Better Locational Damage running. The game has never frozen in VATS or around using it. I do have a bullet time mod installed (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9325) and use it occasionally. Again, the game has never frozen while using it or immediately after. I don't use Version Check Patcher.
  3. I'm running a few script-based mods; the biggest ones are Better Locational Damage and Flashy(JoeR) - Crime and Punishment. I installed the latter for this new playthrough, and the issue I've described had happened without it. Also, before starting a new playthrough, I removed about ten or twelve mods I wasn't actively using; some people said the game has a limit to how many BA2 archives can be loaded at once, and those I removed were mostly with BA2 archives (also with LL integration if it matters). I have occasional 1 or 2-second FPS dips when entering exterior cells with a lot of NPCs doing a lot of things but the freezes consistently happen only when a large number of enemies are actively hostile against me, whether it's an exterior or an interior cell. In a big dungeon, like East Boston Prep School or Gunners Plaza, if I let the enemies know I'm there as I've just entered, it's very likely to freeze. In this playthrough I have not removed any mods (or installed any new ones), including the script-based mods. I'm aware that certain mods should stay installed from the beginning and that removing them may cause all sorts of issues. The authors usually have a warning in the mod description.
  4. For some reason(s) I start experiencing frequent freezes whenever I'm in intense combat situations with humans. If there are lots of raiders or gunners and they're shooting at me, the game is almost guaranteed to freeze. It hasn't happened, when I played stealthily. It appears to only start happening after level 20 or so; maybe a level or two later. I started a playthrough on survival difficulty, and I never experienced this issue on lighter difficulties - was able to reach level 50 and higher. I haven seen a single similar bug report on any of the mod pages I'm using. I tried deleting mods I had installed before switching to survival, but it didn't help. I can't think of anything that's causing it.
  5. Thanks a lot for the info. If it doesn't work exactly to a value, I should probably refrain from edits. I have a relatively stable game, and I'm afraid it might do harm.
  6. The mod you linked to seems to do too many things, and the description isn't clear for me. It's not explained in plain words what each tweak affects, and what happens in the game. The videos weren't helpful either. I hope it's not a weapon edit because it would mean I'd have to change values in all of the weapons including the mods I have installed. If it's a simple value edit in Game Setting, it would be great because I already have a V.A.T.S plugin from Better Locational Damage mod; I could just add an edit there.
  7. There's a mod for FNV called FasterVATS. It shortens the time it takes for an enemy to get hit and die on camera when aiming with V.A.T.S. In the vanilla game It looks idiotic because when there's more than one enemy to shoot I just stand there and wait until each one of them dies in slo-mo, while his friends keep shooting me and I have to watch myself impassively eating bullets. I can (and, I'm sure, many other players can) shoot enemies much more efficiently in real time rather than in V.A.T.S. I do have a mod that allows moving in V.A.T.S, so I can somewhat dodge some of the enemies' bullets, but the waiting between the shots is still there. It looks especially stupid when attacking enemies on the quiet. Like, why would you wait for them to spot and shoot you, when it's possible to kill them all in quick succession, Sam Fisher style? Is it possible to make a similar mod for Fallout 4? Or perhaps it already exists but I can't find it because it doesn't have a self-explanatory name?
  8. Also whenever a company (in gaming industry or not) makes a move that's guaranteed to cause backlash, I immediately asume a conspiracy. Maybe it's aimed at selling more X-BOX game passes?
  9. Go read the official Bethesda FO76 forums, the fanbois are creaming over this "This is only $8.33 a MONTH!!! That's less than I spend on a Movie!!!" etc etc This type of behavior seems more mestirious to me than that of sadistic serial killers. I mean, at least I can assume that serial killers were deprived of love when they were little, or even abused, or something. What sort of life does one need to live to react so positively to this news?
  10. A good chance for me to ask why so many people prefer to be vocal about it instead of just refraining from purchase? I spent some money on MTXs in Metal Gear V, learned my lesson, and never bothered spending money on anything other than the base game and reasonably sized and priced expansions. Every time I hear people complain, I want to tell them, "Just don't buy it, and move on to something you find interesting."
  11. Apparently it has brought it back. I've played without the BCR mod for several hours on different saves and it didn't freeze once, while it used to freeze within the first few minutes of playing. Thanks for your help.
  12. I have the latest version of Bullet Counted Reload System (1.03) installed, and the patches for Right-Handed Lever Action Rifle and Sjogren Inertia. The game freezes even with vanilla weapons (with no vanilla HD or replacer vanilla textures), and in the most FPS-friendly locations (like Sanctuary, Railroad HQ, etc.). I'll uninstall BCR system and see how the game runs without it. I don't use those weapons much anyway. I downloaded it because it's one of those mods that makes the game make a little more sense. Thank you.
  13. When equipping a weapon either via hot key, or through pip-boy menu, the game freezes. It's the first time I encountered this issue, and it started happening recently - two or three days ago, mid-playthrough. The mods I've installed in the past week were all re-texture mods, but it happens even with the weapons unaffected by those mods. The issue is inconsistent. Sometimes it happens in first person, other times it may happen in 3rd person, then other times it doesn't happen even if I cycle through my weapons on purpose. Has anybody had this issue?
  14. i just checked the trailer, and i have to say, i am liking what i am seeing, Comedy, pretty Solid Graphics, and what i can only imagine will be Obsidian Quality Story Telling. it may not be fallout, but this could be the fallout we should of got or possibly will get. i will definitely be keeping an eye out for this game. i really hope the corporation is called the institute just for the absolute lolz. Not looking forward to Outer Worlds either. It seems that every RPG absolutely has to be set in a world of swords and magic, in space or in post-apocalyptic world. Why can't we have an RPG in late 20th century with police and criminals? Like GTA but an RPG. Cyberpunk 2077 probably comes closest to what I'd like to play, but still it has probably got all sorts of magic devices and augmentations.
  15. "Apply Filter For Cleaning" thing is no longer available according to a dialog window that appears when trying to select it in the context menu.
  16. Hi. I recently started a new playthrough and decided to install a few new-location mods (interiors and exterior objects). I've had a few issues with some of them, and the problem is that the issues don't show immediately, and some of the mods have been updated and other may have been outdated and are not compatible with each other anymore. Basically, I want to ask if anyone's running a bunch of these mods together and have tested them for compatibility, bugs, and if there's an optimal load order for them. I'm currently running: Lexington Interiors Minutemen Watchtowers Concord Expanded 2.0 Stumble Upon Interiors Salem Expanded The Lost Vault South of the Sea Inside Jobs MsRae's Commonwealth Interiors I'm also running Thuggysmurf's quest mods that add a few new interiors and edit exterior cells: Fusion City Rising, Outcasts and Remnants, Project Valkyrie and Depravity. I also tried Fort Hagen Expanded but it caused immediate CTDs upon loading, so uninstalled it. It may have been not the mod itself, but a compatibility or a load order issue. I'm planning to try: The Wild Wasteland Shank's Interiors Project N.E.S.T Survival Bunkers Commonwealth Underground and Forgotten Spaces
  17. Piper got lucky with her Japanese voice actress as well. She sounds very energetic and passionate about what she believes in. The female sole survivor in Japanese version sounds terrible to me - like the English version of the male protagonist, she sounds like a typical mother character.
  18. I feel similar about it, and starting to think of myself as being out of touch with modern gaming. This type of thing has already happened with movies in their time. I've got so used to being disappointed in games by now that I don't wait anything good from the forthcoming releases. Not even Cyberpunk 2077 or Death Stranding, that so many people seem to be hyped about right now, get me excited. Fallout 4 is the only game I'm playing now, and I wouldn't have touched it again after two walkthroughs, had there not been Start Me Up and BLD, and a ton of other great mods. Perhaps they spoiled me in a sense that I now look at gameplay previews and can't but see stuff that could be improved, corrected or added to, which the developers most likely aren't going to bother doing.
  19. Fallout 4 - there's a ton of expansion mods coming (F4 New Vegas, Capital Wateland, Miami, etc.) Any of the upcoming games similar to F4 (Cyberpunk 2077, etc.) are only worth playing if they will support modding. Ever since I learned about modding in F4, no game seems as good as it can be with modding.
  20. Two things people seem to find cool, and I don't understand why: dual-weilded pistols and sawn-off double-barrel shotguns.
  21. Well, they now all look like the Amazing Bulks, but a little darker. It's still better than green. I could've probably change the color myself, but the problem is that they're green initially. I don't think there's a way to make it brighter without it looking unnatural. It requires a new texture, and I have no idea how to work with something like that. Thanks again.
  22. I am playing on Windows 10, and it's on C: drive (an SSD, if it matters). Moving the game to another partition (or a separate drive) is, unfortunate, not an option for now. I only came back to the game a few weeks ago after an 8-month break, and it took me way too much time to set everything up, and re-learn certain things, and don't feel like going through it again. The game is more or less stable, and I'm ten hours in on three different characters. As long as the issue is only with a few vanilla outfits, I'm fine with it. The game has a new problem every time I install it. I guess, it's just what one has to deal with playing Fallout.
  23. It didn't work unfortunately. I tested it an existing save game and on a new game, and with rebuilt armor in bodyslide, as you instructed. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1873484833 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1873484920 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1873484968 On the screenshots above, the character is wearing Army Fatigues, and the armor behaves the same way with Military Fatigues (as well as with some other vanilla outfits).
  24. I tried running Bodyslide as administrator - it didn't work, the armor hovers, even with your mod installed. Actually, it appears as if your mod stopped working, because I tried it with or without building the outfits, and it didn't affect the hovering. I also tried copying the meshes (and by their properties, they seemed identical) to the game folder directly, and it didn't work either. Well. I don't know. I guess I can live with it. And I learned a thing or two from you. Thanks a lot for your help.
  25. I'm using the latest version of NMM. Yes, I put your mods at the very bottom of my load order. I heard that shuffling load order mid-playthrough may cause issues, so I always put new mods at the end unless I'm planning to start a new game. Here's my plugin list:
