So im playing on my third game and a couple of things that annoy the s*** out of me, i hate the way the game makes me wait around to watch actions or listen to some bloody moron yell for help, was wondering if there is a way to disable any of these things: 1. Alien discovery zoom in, I have mixed feelings about this whole mechanic, but the main thing i want to stop is the way it zooms in, the aliens look up, then they finally move, just prolongs crap and is annoying to have to wait for this mini cinematic. 2. Different npc's talking and not allowing me to do anything while they do it, for example, rescue missions, when the camera pans to the location of the diplomat (or whoever), and they make there REPETITIVE spiel, at the very least i would like to be able to start moving my guys while they whine, at the best, they whine once the first turn after they are seen and shut the hell up for the next turns till they are rescued. Also some of the times when the box appears with an advisers head in missions and out of them you cant do anything till they are done blabbing. 3. Healing and shooting, so i can tab to another character while my guys are running to a new location, but when they heal themselves or another, i cant do squat till they are done, same with when they shoot, i want to speed things up, at the very least make the actions go faster. these are my big hangups, besides some major mechanics that annoy me, but those are being addressed and im sure will be adressed as more mod options are figured out and/or opened up by firaxis. yes they are in the right place, everything seems to work up until i click on the render window, thrn it crashes

you people expect waaaaaay to much from new releases.... good rule of thumb, if its not a Blizzard game, then expect it to be buggy on release.... and learn to use search.

I have looked at that, but in all my years of using mods, i have found that those lists dont always include the best and/or most balanced ;).

I know you guys get a ton of these and in my defense i did read about 4 or 5 pages in searching for exactly what i need, but nothing was clear, except for FOMM and FOSE. I have a very powerful system so that is not an issue. I enjoy a challenging game and most of all i enjoy a loooooong game and balance, balance is huge! so keeping those in mind, what mods are highly recommended, (i dont like mods that add overly powerful stuff, i like teh balance!) Also, is there any DLC that is a must have and/or must avoid? Someone was telling me they are all "meh". thank you for taking the time to answer yet ANOTHER "what mod should i use" thread ;)
