  1. Apparently someone else had the same idea and actually went about creating a mod like the one I had in mind. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/79761?tab=description
  2. Whenever I encounter bandits, there's usually some variety though. There's ones that use bows, dual wield, use great swords and battle axes and even shields. When it comes to vampires though, I'm just tired of only having 1 type of them to fight.
  3. I was playing Skyrim earlier hunting some vampires as usual and suddenly... a thought hit me like a bolt of lightning. Why is it that we never see vampires using combat other than dual handing magic or having a one handed weapon and magic in the other hand? It's not when you become a vampire they hand you a rule book saying "Oh, you have to have magic equipped on at least one hand whenever you're trying to fight something and mainly use that regardless of what weapon you have on." Plus, if you become a vampire you're still able to use all your different weapons so how come they never do? There's even a Nord vamp in Castle Volkihar named Orthjolf who says, "We need strength, power. Not magic. Elves don't seem to understand that." and I think he's absolutely right! Why don't we ever see vampires who charge at you with two handed weapons or vampiric archers for instance? Every vampire I've seen over the course of the past 7 years have never used two handed weapons, duel wielded weapons, sword & shield or bows. I don't know if it would be lore friendly or not but why not make a mod that spices up the vampires for you to fight for some added diversity and difficulty? I don't know about you guys but I'm kinda bored with just standing there while a vampire zaps me with magic that basically does nothing, thanks to my enchantment skills, until I leisurely walk over and behead them. Just for the heck of it, I spawned in a random master vampire and used the "Disarm" shout on him, picked up his sword before he had a chance to pick it back up and dropped a dwarven great sword at his feet to see what would happen. He stood there zapping me with magic for a moment but then something wondrous happened... he picked up the sword and charged at me with it! That was the first time in 7 Years of vampire slaying I've encountered a vampire two handing a sword so it has to be possible to make vampires have a bit more variety in their combat styles. Things I would like to see implemented Normal Vampires -Typical vampires like the ones in game now that use their magic in one hand and a sword/axe/mace in the other or dual wielding magic that are unchanged by the overhaul.Vampiric Brutes - Vampires that use two handed weapons like Great Swords and Battleaxes (like some of the ones from Oblivion). Possibly Nords who became vampires that don't feel like going Full Elf with magic?Vampiric Archers - Vampires that would use bows like typical Bandit Archers do to where if you get too close they'll go to their default combat style of sword & magic.Vampiric Brawlers - Vampires that would use a one handed weapon and a shield.Vampiric Shredders - Vampires that would dual wield weapons.Vampire Lord / Volkihar Vampires - Vampires of whom were made by Lord Harkon, presumably over the previous centuries, having the ability to dawn the Vampire Lord form. The only real problem I see in the conception of this is that I don't know a thing about creating mods. I could really use some help or advice in going about doing this because I think it would be absolutely spectacular for all you fellow Dawnguard nuts out there.
  4. I've had this bug in my game for a LONG while. I thought I had fixed it but recently I started hearing it again. I don't know how to fix it and I am currently on windows 10 so I don't have that particular setting. I tried the "3D Immersion" thing but that didn't work.
  5. I had an idea for a mod but I have little to no experience in actually making mods so I have no idea how to do it. I tried getting a modder buddy of mine to help but he doesn't really specialize in special effects. I'm a Dawnguard player and I love hunting vampires, but I find it a little anti-climactic when I go toe to toe with a master vampire and when I finally dispatch them, they just flop on the ground like any old sweet roll dropped out of your inventory. There's a mod on the nexus I found a while back called "True Death - A Vampire Slaying Mod" by DidymusEi that adds a bunch of creative ways of hunting vampires (Silver Nitrate tipped Arrows/Crossbow-Bolts, Stakes & the like) and death animations. I used the "Visuals Only" version so I could actually kill them normally because the normal version was a little buggy. The visuals were for when a vampire dies, they disintegrate into a pile of white dust like a resurrected zombie or they explode into a pile of gore. My only problems with this were that the bones that were left behind didn't ever disappear, which bloats your save file over time. I am also a big fan of the Wesley Snipes "Blade" trilogy and after having played through the Dragonborn DLC, I noticed when Ash Spawns died they turned to ash leaving a pile of smoldering ash behind that didn't look like purple snow. This gave me an idea; what if I could create a mod where when a vampire dies, they have the Ash Spawn death visual happen with the fire status effect thrown in so it looks like they burn up into ash like the vampires from Blade did. The only thing holding me back is that I have absolutely no clue how to go about making this into a mod, which is why I could use some help. I've tried messaging DidymusEi asking how he did it, but he's AWOL and doesn't respond to comments/questions. If anyone has any experience in fiddling with this kind of thing, I would appreciate some advice/help.
  6. I have an idea for a mod. It's not exactly Lore friendly, but it would still be pretty cool as it would add a little more enjoyment to hunting Vampires in Skyrim if you're on the Dawnguard side or going after ferals as the Volkihar side. I need the help of someone who knows how to mess with modding because I haven't the slightest idea how but I thought this would be pretty cool. When the Ash Spawns from Solstheim die, they turn to ash. Not a little pile of purple snow like when the "zombies" die, but an actual pile of smoldering ash that actually looks like real ash. I noticed when I killed one with a sword that has a fire enchantment on it that it looked like it burned up into ash Blade style and was wondering if we could somehow implement that into happening when a vampire dies. There's a guy on the nexus who made a mod called "True Death" that made vampires explode in a pile of gore True Blood style and simply disintegrate like the "zombies" do when they die, so I thought if he could figure out a way to do it then maybe we could pull it off.
  7. I reinstalled and evidently the same thing happened somehow. Not a clue how, but unless I have this other mod installed, some vampires don't have their eyes where they should be. http://i.imgur.com/OIMpSfJ.jpg
  8. That's what I thought too, but I went through my folders that the mod creator specified and it seemed that everything was okay. I'm reinstalling just to be safe.
  9. I was playing skyrim, as per usual, and I was bored so I quicksaved and spawned some vampire fledglings to fight. After closing my game, I remembered a mod called "True Death" that I had tried before and figured I'd try to install it again. After I had used it, I uninstalled it and loaded a clean save and spawned the same kind of vampires in to find that their eyes were no longer where they should've been in their heads. Some of them had their eyes where they should be but others seemed to not have eyes at all. I wasn't too concerned with it because vampires I had randomly ran into in game had their eyes looking fine but I ran into 2 recently in game that had the same bug affecting their eyes. I've been on the nexus looking for a fix to this and even messaged the mod author asking if there was any reasons why this could be happening and no luck. I'll run into vampires from time to time or I'll poof em up in the console to find that some of them won't have eyes, but rather have empty eye sockets. If someone finds a fix to this, please let me know. How they're supposed to look > http://i.imgur.com/NmHIRbZ.jpg and how they show up sometimes http://i.imgur.com/vEFVhHC.jpg
  10. When all else fails, MJOLNIR!!!
