Better Cooking Stations texture crashing issue

Turns out Steve40 moved the comments I made into the bugs section of his page. My notifications were just now updating to show me this. So disregard my comments about them above. :) -
Better Cooking Stations texture crashing issue
Benjango replied to Benjango's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
I'm starting to wonder if it is even the texture that's the problem. I see the all the cooking stations just fine from either far away or in the workshop menu bar. But once I select any of them, and it loads into the world ready to be placed, it CTD. God it sucks being at the mercy of my own ignorance. -
Better Cooking Stations texture crashing issue

Also I totally forgot to tell you about if any mods I had changed food items. The only ones I can see (I'll keep looking them over) were D.E.C.A.Y., Clean Soup, and a retexture of the prewar foods. I got rid of the crafting part of DECAY and since version 2.03 of BCS said it had clean versions of soups, I got rid of that as well. But it still crashes. So if there might be a conflict in BA2 textures, would deleting all the loose textures I have in the folder help solve this? If so, is there an easy way to reinstall those textures via NMM? Or is there some other trick I'm unaware of? -

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep an eye on it. Will check it out after I find a solution to my issue. :) -
Better Cooking Stations texture crashing issue

Thanks for reminding me on the scrap everything mod. I usually put it last on my list but neglected to do so for the sake of this post. That's interesting on the settler sandbox mod. I've personally never seen them meander off like that, but then again all I have built up at the moment is Sanctuary. Think I initially got it for the overpass overhaul mod. Thanks again for your help. -
Better Cooking Stations texture crashing issue
Benjango replied to Benjango's topic in Fallout 4's Discussion
Thanks for the reply. I've tried manually downloading and manually installing both the normal 1.0 and the new 2.03 versions with his mod higher in load order as he instructs on his page. I'm honestly thinking it's a conflict issue because my previous playthrough used the original 1.0 version with no issues. I am, however using some different mods this time around. My list is long (not as long as my last playthrough) and I haven't merged anything as of yet. This list just has the 2.03 version of his mod and was sorted via LOOT -
First off I wanna say that Steve40's mod Better Cooking Stations is an awesome mod. One of those mods that I didn't realize I needed until I saw what it did. Downloaded, endorsed, tracked, and voted for. Used it fine on my first run on a melee character. Then on my second run on my sniper character, he shows off a new version with FH/NW support, along with numerous changes to some base game foods and patches for other food crafting mods. Great stuff. So I decide to try the new version. Unfortunately what ends up happening is that the game CTD when I select the first cooking station after the first one in the workshop. (ie: any cooking station from the mod that comes after the one that's prebuilt in sanctuary. In version 1.0 it's the rotating spit with two chunks of molerat meat, and in ver 2.03 it's the single pipe stem small bar-b-q style station) I also noticed whenever I approached two areas with a rotating spit station the game would also CTD. 1. Starlight Drive-in. The station that sits behind the movie screen by the lived in shack with the baby crib. 2. The Combat Zone. To the left of the theater double doors after the lobby, there is a station on the other side of the wall. I have a feeling that going to other spots with this (or the other) stations will cause me to crash but I cannot remember what spots have what cooking station. So for now I can't test that. At any rate. If anyone has an idea of what I could do to fix this, it is appreciated. I'd put my load order but I don't know how to make a spoiler button, so I'll refrain.

I've put in about 140 hours so far into Fallout 4, but I never actually did the Silver Shroud questline. So today I decided to get it done in one session. I like the look of the gear, especially the hat. My issue is that the hat is not a piece of gear, rather it's a quest item even after I've completed the questline and saved you know who. I do have mods installed but I'm unsure that any of them would cause the armor and not the hat to become a piece of apparel after completing the quest. The only major armor based mod I use is Amorsmith Extended. It makes the gear (quest item or otherwise) upgradable in the workbench. I've heard once you hit level 45 and upgrade the armor to its final form, all the gear becomes apparel and / or a weapon you can equip and drop and so forth. I'm honestly baffled and can't even seem to find the console code to spawn a normal hat. (ie the article of clothing and not the quest item) Any help on this would be appreciated.

Just a simple audio idea. How about bringing in voice files of ISAC from The Division to Fallout? Could make it to where instead of just posting text at the top left of the screen (can't sleep, radiation sickness, etc.) a voice file appropriate to the situation plays. After entering a radioactive area you could hear, "Reading indicates this area is contaminated." Or if enemies are nearby or in combat with you, "Warning: Hostiles inbound on your position." And so on.

I'm on my second attempt at modding New Vegas (first attempt was around a year ago) to have a proper playthrough. I have the normal 'must have' mods installed. Most of which came from watching Gophersvids. I also downloaded NVEC. Nvec has a weapon sound replacement mod integrated within it called CRL9000 Sound Modification for New Vegas - V041. One of the sounds the mod author says it replaces is a carbine rifle (like the All-American unique weapon) Now, after playing around in a test save, I noticed the Carbine gun from the mod Underground Hideout had no sound play when I fired it. I could only hear the casing hitting the ground and the bullet hitting the surface I was aiming at. I also tried a Service Rifle from the NCR Rearmament mod with the same result. The proper firing sound plays when the gun is in the hand of an NPC but not me. I thought all these guns used the same sound replacement as the carbine the mod author stated but I'm not sure. At any rate, I tried deactivating/reactivating NVEC and downloading CRL9000 itself and putting it lower in the load order, but neither work. Is there a way to get the sound file to play properly? Update: The All-American sound does play when I fire it. But so far the Carbine from Underground Hideout and the Assault Service Rifle from NCR Rearmament remain silent. Second Update: Played around in FNV edit to see if there was any conflict between the two guns. Turns out the Carbine from the Hideout has none. A sound file is listed for it, but it just doesn't play. The Service Rifle (I'm hoping it's the one similar to what my character is holding since I couldn't find weapons under NCR Rearmament) did have two conflicts: one through NVEC, and the other from Weapons Mod Expanded. Oddly enought NVEC does change the sound of the service rifle, but then WMX changes it back to the original. Really my problem hasn't changed at all. My guns are still missing a sound when I fire them.

Wishlist for the Fallout Series

Good list, and I agree with almost everything, especially finite story telling. That one always gets my undies in a bunch. I'm a firm believer, however, that multiplayer COULD help make a great Fallout game become even better. They would just have to approach it with a certain attitude. i.e. - No CTF, No Free-for-all...just a drop in, drop out, Dead Island-esque, type of storyline co-op you can play with a bud. Although I do wish for something fine tuned like that, I doubt it will happen though. Could always try Vault MP I guess. My main wish for the next installment though, would be better interaction with the world. For example: ==Being able to trade something other than Caps/ NCR dollars/ Legion Gold for other goods.== If you're short on money, you can trade something or a bunch of something for something else. Could trade a bunch of ammo you don't use for some you do, a set of power armor for food, etc. The trading window from Civ 5 comes to mind in this. ==Building a town, run it, level it, trade / spy / go to war with other towns.== Wasteland Defense and RTS made me want to seriously just found my own town and make my mark on the Mojave. This could open the doors to a whole other game to play. From a town you can found a Caravan you can use to trade with other towns. You could have some companions take charge of certain aspects of your new society. I.e. that caravan you made could have Cass as its boss. Your place could get raided, you catch the eye of the brotherhood / NCR / Legion / Whatever, have your own flag...I could go on. Plus it would give you something to continuously spend caps on, which is always a plus after you've beaten a game and still roam around with an ungodly amount of money burning a hole in your pocket. ==Bigger maps = reason to have vehicles?== Vehicles in a Fallout game could either make it or break it. Hell I never used horses in Skyrim so I doubt I'd use cars in Fallout...unless it was a Vertibird. >.> Only way I could justify having vehicles at this point is simply having a bigger map. Not sure on the size...probably not along the lines of Just Cause 2. Although that would be kinda kick ass. ==A BIG looming threat== This just adds a random fear factor to the mix while playing but I think it would be fun...if nothing else it would make for quite a sight. I got this idea actually from playing DayZ. I was talking with some buds about how in most zombie scenarios, there's a horde. My idea was to have a gigantic herd of zombies (few hundred) that roam the open areas of a map as a group, stumbling in one direction for a while then switching to the next. If you come across it, the best idea would be to give it some room and go around, or wait for the herd to pass. If you make one mad, the whole horde gets mad. Just replace 'Zombies' with 'Feral Ghouls' and you'll get the idea. Other than that...I just wish Bethesda, or whomever, just takes some time and checks out the Nexus for ideas. ps - Maybe some work into the first person shooter aspect of the game. Alternate fire modes, grenade hotkey, adjustable zoom, etc? I know it's a RPG first and foremost and certainly NOT a FPS, but c'mon, I spent my last two playthroughs shooting 80% of the time. In fact, I'm fairly certain most people did. -
A game worth saving? Or best to move on?
Benjango replied to Benjango's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
@ModelV yeah I know I'm greedy little mod bastard : P I bet by the time I get all this to work...Bethesda will come out with Fallout 4...and I haven't even beat Skyrim yet. Speakin of fixing things...if I take jpegs, readme files, and other files that don't really belong in the data folder out or delete them will that help my situation any? -

Benjango replied to Benjango's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
Yeah I know what you mean on 'mods that I cannot be without.' A lot of the mods I decided to use are here cuz I figured they were 100% needed for my game. lol I went through all of Gophersvids and downloaded those mods to make the game resemble something that more or less should have been what NV was supposed to look like / run like in my opinion. Then I went on a binge on the nexus with mods that just made sense to have in the game. I'm starting to look into trying to merge some mods together...but I've no idea how to do that. I read that FNV edit, which I have, is the best way to do that. Time to google some tutorials. -

Wow...pardin my french but holy shitskittles.... I thought looking through my Data folder for somthin to delete or move was going to be long and arduous process, as though trying to find a few rogue files was equivalent to a needle in a haystack. I spent five seconds in there and I'm seeing readme's, word documents, HTML documents, and a video file. ....a feckin....video file...wow I need to pay more attention to the mods I activate. Man that's embarrassing... -

Benjango replied to Benjango's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
@Nivea So I look over my mods, find something that isn't activated or being used, and put it in a separate folder inside the NV directory? If it isn't being used wouldn't be better to delete it altogether? I see three esp's not checked in my load order in NMM though...I'll look through it. and what is the best way to regen an ini file? restart a game? -

Benjango replied to Benjango's topic in Fallout New Vegas's Discussion
@Guusert Unfortunately I don't have Two Wastelands mod, so that isn't the problem. And yeah, all this madness started recently. One of those pics is actually from two days ago right before I did a complete reinstall of the game, then added a handful of mods, and the problem happened again. And before all that, the game was working perfectly up until now. No problems whatsoever. If there is a conflict I'm honestly not sure where because the game loaded fine, and everything was peachy for a short time. Then I entered my Pip boy, the screen flickered purple, I exited the pip boy and looked around so see all the textures were still fine, then fast traveled to The Fort to see the hill staring back at me. O-o Ze hills...zey have eyes! @Nivea When all this insanity started, I was wondering if I had actually hit the limit on mods or not. I had just gotten through watching some of Gophersvids and someone in the comments section had asked this very thing. He said don't put more than 100 esp's in the load order, I think. I looked at mine and, at the time, I was at 120 or so and the game worked fine. So I kept adding mods lol. I guess I'll have to look through a list of mods I wanted to use and see which ones I can be without. Though I doubt that will be an easy task. Everyone of the mods I picked is needed in one way or another. Does regenerating my ini files allow for more mods to be added? How would I regenerate them? Thank both of you for your help. -
I have no idea whether or not this topic goes in this area of the forum but I am at my wits end. So I'm just gonna post this and hope for the best. My NV game has gone bat guano crazy in the past two days. After playing for around 5 minutes (roughly), the screen flickers a pinkish-purple hue. Then when I fast travel to another area...my god...the horrors. http://s1262.photobucket.com/albums/ii601/Benjango/ I'm bloody speechless at this. At first I thought it had something to do with I.W.S. mod (since it was the last thing I downloaded). However, even deactivating that mod proved fruitless, as all these problems stayed in game. One complete vanilla reinstall later, sans IWS, I started it back up. I was missing a few mods from the previous game though, (a dozen or so) so I reinstalled them as well. And the purple came back. These are the mods I re downloaded: Caesars New Regime - The main file, the vanilla body patch, Mission Mojave patch, and the update for the underground home NCR - rearmed and rearmament along with the optional chest rig file faster terminals Magic 8 ball extended repair kits Better Mojave Outpost barracks blood textures I'm not sure if any of these have caused a problem with anyone but it seems in order to pinpoint the culprit I would have to do a reinstall for every mod...which I'd rather not do. The only other thing I can think if, is the fact that I may have WAY too many mods activated. My index in NMM is up to 145 and I wasn't even done looking through Nexus yet. So yeah I'm at a loss as to what to do to save my game...I'm totally not above reinstalling it....a fourth time *twitch*....But without something to at least point me in a good direction to fix this... I don't know...perhaps I'll wait until Fallout 4 comes out and Gambryo can rot in gaming hell. Thanks for any help you guys can give.
