  1. Hello! I think it would be cool to modify the quest line of Dragonborn to make the ending of it a bit more immersive. Hermaeus Mora states that you are his new champion, yet, only rewards you with Miraak's items/souls and the ability to change perks. Would it not be more lore-friendly to literally replace Miraak in the sense that should you perish on the mortal plane, you return to the summit of Apocrypha where you discover Mora has rescued you from permanent Death (as he did with Miraak before during his rebellion when the dragon Priests defeated him). This could go several ways of course, Miraak could decide you should somehow repay him before he releases you, or perhaps he simply allows you to teleport back to Solstheim via the black book at the summit. One could also be required to gather followers via manipulation much like Miraak did to return to Mundus. This could provide a really cool way to affect the world of Skyrim from a distance. It could be a matter of you "return" but only as a ghost of yourself (ethereal mode from the shout could be used) and convince others to read a black book, the animation used on Storn could be used where the black book sends tentacles into his body, this could be how your character returns to the real world, either assuming their body permanently or perhaps using the Vampire Lord transformation script to turn black, but instead of bursting forth as a vampire, replace the animation with your original body. This NPC would of course have to be non-essential. But affecting non-essentials could be a matter for your ethereal form (much Like Miraak did when he appears to take dragon souls). Luring and/or controlling an NPC to venture to a black book in order to posses their body and fully return would be awesome and provide a new level of immersion via the Dragonborn quest line. What do you think?
  2. Hello! I'm wondering if it would at all be possible to create a mod which allows the player to Astral Project within the world of Skyrim. To elaborate, I'm sure there are already spell versions that elude to this ability, what I'm referring to is a literal ability to leave your character's body and wander the world of Skyrim without fear of physical harm (should your body be killed of course you'd be in big trouble). Ideally you'd be able to wander beyond the cell that your character's body is residing in, meaning you could leave your body (perhaps a ritual would be required for immersion's sake) and leave the interior (or loading cell) and continue on as a spirit to subtly affect the world. As a ghost of yourself you could perhaps cast certain spells (ideally illusion school) and influence other NPCs to your will, perhaps even inhabiting their bodies for an indefinite amount of time. Should a spell harm an NPC while in spectral form, no crime or witnesses could notice your actions, as you'd be invisible to everyone until you chose to influence a character. If you possess a person directly and commit a crime, they would be blamed for the crime perhaps. I mentioned in a previous mod request post the idea of capturing potential new bodies to inhabit through black arts should your character's original body die (essentially a Lich who uses a corpse as a phylactery instead of a gem or random item, a "Flesh Lich" as it were). Astral projection could be a lovely addition to this playstyle, essential allowing the player the gather followers (perhaps even visiting NPC's while they sleep and influencing their disposition or somehow enslaving them to follow and serve your character). This could also be further expanded upon by having your character create a lair in which specific runes and circles must be drawn to project yourself. Visiting NPCs in their sleep enough or gaining enough influence could be scripted to have them journey to this lair of yours and await orders or even sacrifice their own body in a vile ceremony of body transference. Just some ideas that I think could make a great mod! As well as create a massive amount of new content and playstyle opportunities.
  3. Does anyone know of, or have interest in, an immersive phylactery Mod? I'm aware that Undeath by Antioch08 explores this concept somewhat, and does a wonderful job in creating a lich power. The Dark Resurgence power is a wonderful concept to me, but I was interested to see if anyone knew of or is interested in a mod that allows one to customize their phylactery, and/or make it almost a player home inside for the soul that is stored there (much like the black star is in the main quest line for Azura) but accessible via the player where they can enhance their own power and perhaps even transport captured souls there to later use as vessels for their own soul (in the event that the player's original body is destroyed). I feel the possibilities for a phylactery mod are extensive and could provide the skyrim undead/necromancer player with a great deal of new content to explore. Anyone is welcome to elaborate on this idea! I'm interested in discussion and action on how to proceed to get this mod made!
  4. Hello all you talented mod-makers! I've been fascinated with the idea of soul-storage in fantasy games/lore for a long time now, as such, I thoroughly enjoyed the Undeath mod created by Antioch08. The quest was long and arduous, but made the end result worth it. It wasn't the transformation to a lich form or the new spells or added undeath bonuses that made me excited, it was the Dark Resurgence power that allows the player to escape death by reviving (no matter where they died) at their phylactery. Its the only mod I can find that eludes to the idea of soul-Storing to cheat death. My interest is to see if anyone here would be interested in taking charge on a mod project that dabbles with this idea but elaborates on it further. My interest is to create a mod/scripted event that allows the player to capture/and or steal the body of a victim and through witchcraft transfer their consciousness completely into the captured NPC, essentially kicking them out of their own body or possessing them permanently and continuing the game as usual with full interaction with the world and people. Ideally, this would consist of a ritual site (much like the Undeath Mod) or Lair where the player could keep their potential hosts imprisoned until their bodies were needed for transference. This would be to ensure that no matter where the player was killed in the world, their soul would return to this lair where (either in ghost form or some other avatar form of the player) they could choose their new host to take. This idea is explored in the WGN show Salem by one of the main villains, whose original body is a mummified corpse stored in a coffin which protects a part of her soul (similar appearance to the night mother), upon death, her soul inhabits this original corpse and appears helpless, but she survives to later on revive either by generating a new body or possessing another. Her character's name is Countess Marburg (if you wish to look it up). Obviously once the mechanic is worked out a quest line involving this power and or practitioners would be awesome! I'd be more than happy to write the lore/dialogue/storyboard required for such an ordeal. My issue is I lack the programming skills to properly script and mod things of this nature. Anyone interested in such a thing? Thanks! Schmidty58
