On the side of downloaders, you can't endorse a mod for 15 minutes. By then I'm already in the game. Bad excuse but true nonetheless. However I have now gone through all the mods that I really liked and endorsed them. Will comment on them as I come up with more than "Thanks for uploading!" which is all I can really think about after so many comments.
  2. In response to post #24817394. #24817499, #24817884, #24822954, #24824369, #24828614 are all replies on the same post. I'd also like to quote myself on this issue. "Some guarantee that one persons paid mod will work with everyone elses paid mod isn't a lot to ask in this situation I believe." I'm not asking curation for every single mod on the Nexus, I'm asking for some type of guarantee that every PAID mod will work with every other PAID mod. Seeing as there likely isn't a whole lot of paid mods that would be uploaded(compared to free, anyway) I don't see why this can't be done. Sure it takes some work but I'm paying you money for that work.
  3. In response to post #24817394. #24817499 is also a reply to the same post. Actually it's not similar to that at all. It's close to buying a phone, installing two separate apps, then find out one app causes issues with the other and bricks your entire phone. The person at fault for that isn't the consumer when there were no warnings that the apps couldn't be used on the same phone. Especially bad when the apps are paid for. There needs to be more quality control and assurance that all the apps coincide, largely for the fact that it likely wouldn't be hard to brick a smartphone.
  4. In response to post #24817199. Skyrim itself was pretty broken at first but I've yet to have an issue with their dlc. So yeah I have seen non-buggy Beth products. This is kind of a crude way to go about it. I've no idea how to mod and yet I should pay someone to, intentionally or not, break my game? I mean if it breaks and I hadn't paid for it, yeah that's on me. If it breaks after I spent $5 for it? I hardly think it's a consumer issue at that point. I mean I see where you're coming from but I kind of see it as "if you want my money, do more to prove I should pay you". It isn't really entitlement since I can see a lot of people claiming it is. It's just common sense to stay away from something that can screw your experience over.

Why? If I buy dlc for a game I know they'll work together and will be supported as long as the game exists. I can't guarantee that with a mod and find it difficult in this way to spend money on one that may not work with another I spent money on. A 24 hour refund that only allows you to do so once every 5 days isn't going to protect me from finding out that 2+ mods I purchased the same day wont work together. Some guarantee that one persons paid mod will work with everyone elses paid mod isn't a lot to ask in this situation I believe.

Of course that isn't all of them, but those that did would have never updated or cared whether or not your mod worked. It was just money to them.
  7. I've now gone through and endorsed every mod that I've used and really liked. I'll get to commenting on all of them in time and will be sure to appreciate the mod developers more for their hard work. I know it isn't much but I'm doing what I can to give a push to the creators who make this game far better than anyone could have ever dreamed.
  8. don't know why but I have a really bad feeling about all this. I mean I'm glad it was removed so maybe it can be talked out with the actual modders and everyone else. Still, could this mean the end of acceptable modding as a whole, or does this just mean it'll be tested again with a different game? Beth and Valve just giving up doesn't seem "normal".
  9. Really concerned about this website, given this rather large move by Valve. What will stop mod creators, game devs, and/or Valve from demanding this website be taken down on DMCA claims? This is a sad day for PC gamers, one of the biggest points of gaming on a PC is being entirely taken advantage of by a company that has nothing to do with the mods themselves.
