  1. How do I create a mod with an install wizard such as the ones used in "Enhanced Lights and FX" and "CBBE"? I am currently working on my next mod project, and I would like an install wizard in order for the user to choose which options they'd like rather than uploading several different versions of the mod.
  2. So the scabbard for my sword is jammed onto my sword. Basically when I draw my sword, the scabbard stays attached to it instead of staying on my belt, and I end up just wacking people over the head with the scabbard still covering the blade. Attached is my .nif setup as it currently stands. I used the SteelSword.nif as my base frame. I have no idea why this is happening. The first person viwe also shows the scabbard covering the blade while drawn.
  3. So I can't get my texture to load propperly when creating my weapon using the creation kit (this issue also carries through into game as well). The mesh itself loads in propperly, for both the creation kit and in game. My testure resolution is 1024x1024. I am following every step of these tutorials: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwPIUDFi5_Y&index=3&list=PLFZMBZfxFXeGBVDR__L2NcxjB_iC15dFX https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-nKesD7p2c&index=4&list=PLFZMBZfxFXeGBVDR__L2NcxjB_iC15dFX However, when I load the .nif file into the creation kit, the weapon is black and glossy. I have double checked, and triple checked and quadruple checked the texture directory as: data/textures/weapons/betasword/BetaSwordTexture.dds data/textures/weapons/betasword/BetaSwordTexture_m.dds data/textures/weapons/betasword/BetaSwordTexture_n.dds
  4. I keep getting this message when I try updating the tangent spaces: "need vertices, normals, texture coordinates and faces to calculate tangents and bitangents" "need vertices, normals, texture coordinates and faces to calculate tangents and bitangents" "need vertices, normals, texture coordinates and faces to calculate tangents and bitangents" I am not sure what this means or how to fix it.
  5. So I loaded my sword mod into Skyrim using "Mod Orginzer" and the mesh is loading up fine, however there are a few issues. The first I found while crafting my new sword. It doesn't appear in the viewer when you have it highlighted (see below): (Yes I do realize the Damage, Weight and Cost values are strange. I was mainly concerned with just getting the mesh and textures working. The DWC values are gonna be changed to something more consistant once I've got these issues fixed first) http://38.media.tumblr.com/6171cd81d3c8d0682f613a754f81e2aa/tumblr_nc8jm6I7JU1t9sj5no1_1280.jpg It does, however, appear in the viewer when highlighted in the inventory. The position it loads into is distance and on its flat-face however. Had to move it around to get it into this position (see below): http://33.media.tumblr.com/e10e3173658ea192841ee9012096537c/tumblr_nc8jm6I7JU1t9sj5no2_1280.jpg And of course the fnal issue is that the texture isn't loading (see both above and below). Thankfully the sword is positioned correctly in my characters hand: http://38.media.tumblr.com/3a35737967a14f7df14a24f9f6e51eed/tumblr_nc8jm6I7JU1t9sj5no3_1280.jpg Any suggestion for what I can do to fix these issues? The main issue that I am concerned about is the texture not loading.
  6. I am getting this message when I try to copy the BSLightingSaderProperty Nif versions differ! Current File Version: 20.0.0.5 Clipboard Data Version: 20.2.0.7 The Results will be unpridictable... I click continue, then get this message: ""array Extra Data List much too large. 16777215 bytes requested"" I click the x button and the BSLightingShaderProperty now has a y with an umlaut in place of the Txt, and the BSShaderTextureSet isn't there.
  7. So I have recently started trying to make my own mods for Skyrim, and I am starting out with a custom sword with custom textures. What I have done: Built the weapon mesh and converted it to .nifCreated the bump and texture maps for the weapon. What I need help with: Implementing the bump and texture maps onto the .nif meshCreating the normal and environment maps, as well as implementing them onto the .nif meshSetting everything up for implementation into Skyrim, as a unique weapon (not a replacment for a vanilla weapon). Software I am using: Cinema 4D R12 (exporting mesh from .c4d to .3ds)Adobe Photoshop CS4 (with NVidia .dds Texture Tool)Nifscope (importing .3ds and saving as .nif) If anyone can help me find the relavent tutorials, or can give me some advice, please reply. Thank you for any help you guys can provide :)
