Pretty sure I just need to redownload bodyslide, I checked the folder it would be in and the application itself isnt there but the sliders and preset files were.

However, on deployment I kept getting a message that vortex tried to access a file but didnt have permissions (I believe it was bodyslide) and hitting give permission resulted in a windows UAC pop up. It kept happening no matter how many times I agreed or gave permission. Do I just need to redownload body slide or am I missing something?

Happy to report that everything seems to be in order. All I need is to redownload FNIS. Thank you for all the quick responses and guidance

I assume that I need it, but just figured I would ask. In the Appdata I am transferring, the local folder has a vortex folder in it with a subfolder named pending with two files in in temp-vortex-setup 1.4.16 and 1.5.10

I dont have it running right now, but it is installed. So Ill try fixing appdata and launching vortex after to see what happens

Do I need to uninstall vortex and then move appdata or am I ok to go ahead and move it anyway?

Mods were disabled and it was the archives registering as never installed. Boy Im dumb. The lack of mod metadata (like version number and such) should have been a dead giveaway but thats what you get by running on not enough sleep. Hopefully actually fixing appdata will sort it all out.

So. After some googling. I think I discovered my blunder. I didnt actually put app data in the right spot. Its a hidden folder in Windows 11 (which is what my new PC is.) So I would need to unhide it and then move the stuff. I did a a very boneheaded thing initially and just made a folder named appdata since I didnt see one. My laptop was windows 10 I dont recall it being hidden on that but its been a long time sense I got that laptop. So maybe Im just a buffoon with egg on my face. But I think I should be able to rectify the problem by actually moving appdata to the right place?

So, I followed the guide. Everything should be in the right place. But on redeploy nothing happened. All the mods are there but they are all disabled or say never installed. Did I miss something?

Didnt get as much done today as Id like. Tornado hit my area. But heres my assumption as to the process, let me know what you think? So. Purge mods. Move external hard drive to new pc. Launch game on steam on new pc. Install vortex. Replace app data. And insure that the staging and downloads folders are set the exact same. Redeploy. Am I missing anything? I purged and got steam to recognize the drives. Ill move forward tomorrow.

If my steam library, mod staging folder and download folder are on an external drive. E in this case. And I intend to use that external drive on my new PC (itll be the same drive letter so I think the paths should be fine.) Do I just need to install vortex and then put the app data/ roaming in the same spot. (Same user folder etc.) then launch vortex? I havent downloaded steam on the new pc yet either. Would I need to purge and redeploy mods if the game itself is staying in the same steam library?
