  1. Make sure to Turn off weapon debris if its on. If using steam, verify files. does it crash without using f4se and no mods? Using any texture mods?
  2. There are a few mods that add armor for dogmeat. but power armor....a bit overkill.
  3. If you have steam, try verifying the game. Also check the computer itself with sfc /scannow at a admin dos/command prompt. Can also try to run a DISM scan at a admin dos/command prompt. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system-files-79aa86cb-ca52-166a-92a3-966e85d4094e Also update video driver. Turn off weapon debris if its on. That would be a start.
  4. I had over 200 mods and wow, trying to go through every one to find the ones that crash the game. I started by removing mods I really don't need. Making sure most are updated (if any). and slowing going though the nexus post of each mod. That helped me to identify more mods that caused a crash. One had a bad texture (grass mod) that would randomly crash the game. Also found mods that basically replace older mods, like a weapons mod. for that work, I got a stable running game.
  5. It's not easy trying to find the mod that can crash your game. Also some programs do try to stop crashes. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/73774 Can help that out. There are other similar mods. For me, I tried not to push the most textures beyond 2k. I traced every single mod on nexus and looked through the post, and found a few mods that can crash the game, including one for a grass mod that one texture caused a crash. Cut down on mods I didn't really need. And was able to get a stable game, nextgen.
  6. F4SE is about the only mod that needed to upgrade for the next gen. that including mods that depend on F4SE. If you don't use any of those mods.....
  7. .esm has a limit of 255 mods. esl allows you go go over that amount. As one person said use a mod manager, Vortex or MMO. some mods like this one, usually goes at the end of the list. Its usually in the instructions on how to load it. Previsibines Repair Pack Stable Branch - PRP https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/46403?tab=files If a mod is having issues, either move it down on the list to fix it. Some mods used by others, go up in the list. If everything is working, go by the old saying, "if it's not broke, don't fix it".
  8. I've found several old mods I loved using, randomly crashed the game. Had to find replacements for them or stop using them. Be aware some old mods could crash the game (usually discussed in the post tab of the mod). My game stopped crashing (using nexgen). Weaponsmith extended is old....there is a newer program that does a better job. Gunsmith Overhaul https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/41677 And it's not bethesda's fault your modded game crashes. And the new bethesda mods can be disabled with a mod from nexus.
  9. ...A simple mod manager can disable the mods bethesda added..... Also a mod or 2 on nexus that can do the same thing.
  10. I found out several of my mods were randomly crashing the game. I had to go though a bunch in nexus and the comments. Many had posted the mod crashing the game. Some mods far too old, and that newer mods replaced them. One was a grass texture that would randomly crash the game.
  11. A little odd having homemaker, which can randomly crash the game, and the old awkcr that seems to have other mods that have replaced it.
  12. Would there happen to be a mod to stop idle settlers? Using Sim settlements 2. Several settlers just standing around, doing nothing.
