Hi, I was just thinking - I have a mod that burns bodies (and makes them disappear)...it's: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/10614 So I'm wondering if the same could be done for wooden furniture? Fire spells could be used to burn furniture - which would either delete it completely after a few seconds of burning, or could turn the furniture into an ash pile if that's even possible...that way if you burn a container like a barrel / chest, you can still loot the items from the ash pile. For quitting factions - I was thinking...what if you start a playthrough as a member of the Dark Brotherhood but then decide you want to join the Thieves' Guild instead? I mean, there's nothing wrong with doing both...but from a roleplay perspective, it makes sense to 'quit' one guild to join another. It could be done by adding dialogue options to "quit" at a certain point in each factions questline: "This guild isn't for me." (or something similar). That dialogue option could "Fail" the questline at that point. Kind of like what happens if you 'break the rules' of the guilds.

[SSE] Useless As Tits On An Argonian
Xeron222 replied to Aldebaran1113's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
This is what I use - but they still have the shape.: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/184 The "Full Scales" option: https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/1704/images/thumbnails/184-6-1480050287.jpg -
That's something I thought about as well - it would be awesome for roleplay purposes if your family lived in Helgen and were killed by Alduin. More reason to hate him and actual motivation to kick his butt lol. I have trouble actually hating the villains in Skyrim - other than Harkon...he put his family through some stuff. :/ Alduin is just doing what is in his nature though - depending on how you interpret the lore. Same for Miraak.

I'm a passable writer and good at creating characters + backgrounds...I can't help with the actual scripting / mod creation other than making simple followers in the CK though. I even know how to add voices - the problem would be where these 'family' npcs should be placed. I've thought about this concept a lot myself. You could have an MCM menu to spawn certain NPCs and decide where they will spawn? That would require scripting and knowledge of how to create an MCM in the first place, though...(which I don't have :( ). My idea for this would be to use the vanilla houses - I'm sure many people use mod added houses or hearthfire houses instead anyway...an option to choose which vanilla house your 'family' spawns in would be preferable. I'd very likely always choose Proudspire in Solitude as my family's home. That would require fully upgrading the vanilla homes to have all the furniture / etc when one is selected, though. There could be a way to name the npc(s) in the MCM before you spawn them. That way, you could have them namable by the player. If the player wants to be raised by their Uncle Steve, for example - they would just type in "Uncle Steve" as the npc name then click an option when they are ready for him to spawn wherever he's going to spawn. Would that even be possible with an MCM? I know this mod spawns npcs using an MCM (without custom genetics / naming): https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/4560 OR you could have a FOMOD installer that lets the player choose the races and genetics (hair color / eye color / skin tone / fur color / etc) of their parent(s), guardian(s), cousin(s), sibling(s), etc...before even entering the game? Then they would just need to rename the npc(s) in the MCM and spawn them in to whichever vanilla house they want to use. Idk about voicing them, though - using text to speech mods is kind of a controversial topic at the moment...but it would be really cool to have a mother npc that actually comments on your adventures: "My son...a thief? Where did I go wrong!?" "Going on another adventure? Remember to pack clean underwear!" etc.

It would be really cool to have a 'reaction' power / hotkey that lets the player 'react' dramatically to certain things in various ways. Alduin destroyed Helgen? "OH NO MY PARENTS LIVED HERE! T.T" *thrusts hands in the air and kneels down to do a crying animation (with sound?)*. Someone stole my sweet roll? "GRRRR!" *Thrusts fist into the air angrily*. Inigo and Lucien are trolling each other again? "*laughter noises*" *Laughing animation*. *shrug* I think it would be cool, at least. :)

Could possibly be done with SPID? I know it takes away from some quests - but for immersion it would make sense. The only real reason to do EVERY Daedric quest is if you're going for the 'Oblivion Walker' achievement or just want to collect everything. What if some of the Daedric artifacts were actually BEING USED by enemies though? More powerful enemies + an alternate way to get some of the artifacts.

For editing textures in GIMP: It's actually not too bad. I'm not an expert at all - but this is what I do: 1. Download the mod you want to edit the textures of manually (not through a mod organizer like Vortex). 2. Unzip the folder of the mod and rename the unzipped version whatever you want. I usually just put "Xer0s" in front of the folder name. 3. Go into the newly re-named folder and open up the texture image (.dds) you want to edit in GIMP. Edit it however you want - I usually just google what I'm looking for and paste it over the original image. Then I resize it to fit the 'image space' of the original image. 4. When done editing, click 'file' and 'export' (NOT save!). Don't change the name of the image. Then, replace the original image when asked. 5. Go back to where you renamed the folder earlier and right click on it...then 'zip' it again. Open up your mod organizer / Vortex and install the zipped file there (if you use Vortex, click the 'Mods' tab on the left and there should be an option on the orange bar to 'install file'. Install the zipped file and it should work like any other mod. :) Don't forget to deploy, though! 6. Close out of everything and go test out your new texture in Skyrim! :) It takes some experimenting...things don't always line up how I expect them to using this method...and I can't say for sure if this is the best way to do it tbh. This is just what I do. IF anything messes up, the textures don't look right, or you want to go back to the original textures --- just disable your mod in Vortex and install the original zipped file instead. If you need to edit it, use your unzipped folder again to edit the textures - rename the unzipped folder again if you want to, and then rezip it and re-install it with Vortex again.

This would be awesome - would go very well with 'clockwork doll' style mods: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/users/75764303?tab=user+files https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/24634 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/24636 i would personally love a Ball-Jointed Doll skin / body mod - especially with actual 3d ball joints! There used to be a 'Ball-Jointed Doll Race' mod by TheDaedricDoll, but it's been deleted...this was the page for it: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/32336.

You're welcome! :) I've made some small personal use mods too - but just stuff that's easy to do in the CK like simple followers (no scripting!), books and notes, duplicate/personalized items, etc. I know what you mean about scripting - it can be headache inducing! I want to learn eventually. I'd love to make mods...but by the time I get to the point where I'm ready to seriously start - Elder Scrolls 6 will be out lol.

Don't be discouraged! It is a good idea. I don't have the skill, personally, but I've made a few suggestions here myself that haven't received any replies. It's up to the individual / mod author to be inspired by something they see - whether it comes from a forum post here, a forum post somewhere else, reddit (where it's probably more likely to be noticed tbh), Discord (bleh, not my thing - but popular with mod creators!), or anywhere else in general (real life, other games, etc). My point is: Don't give up. :) A lot of the more experienced mod authors like to encourage others to start making mods themselves. If you really really want to see your idea become reality - that would be the best option, but I know some people just don't have time or aren't interested in learning the skills needed (which is also fine). I'm learning very slowly - at my own pace. Maybe I'll create some of my own ideas one day if they haven't already been done by that point. I post them here on the off chance that someone who DOES currently have the skill needed will get inspired and potentially do something with the idea(s) instead of them just wasting away (until I *MAYBE* make them myself...)...but I don't expect them to be picked up. My ideas / suggestions are just there for free use if anyone wants to use them.

1. Slippery Ice - Running on ice doesn't seem like a good idea - maybe while sprinting, there could be a chance of falling / slipping. Could be something like: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/70534 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/70979 ...but happens while running on ice. Would be really cool if there could be an ice spell that the player can use that is similar to Wall of Frost, but instead of a wall - it could make the ground icy and could make npcs / enemies slip. Fun for trolling npcs. 2. Random effect when 'learning' new spells - instead of learning the spell, there could be a random chance of something else happening. For example: If you use a Spell Tome to learn Flames, there could be a very small chance of an explosion. Kind of like in the College of Winterhold when the student mages are experimenting with spells and things go wrong. For Ice spells the player could end up frozen (paralyzed?) temporarily. For Conjuration, there could be a small chance of summons being hostile. 3. Ghosts (and Arvak!) waterwalking - shouldn't all ghosts be able to walk on water? 4. Elisif's (or Ulfrik's) coronation - could be an 'event' after the main quest. No one is ever officially made ruler of Skyrim after the civil war. This is something that has always bugged me. It could possibly involve removing some dialogue / conversations and possibly adding new ones via splicing / XVASynth. Maybe an option for the Dragonborn to become high king / queen as well? Since those who are dragonborn are usually (not always) rulers. 5. Useful for new players (and possibly old players!!): A mod that hints at the morality / alignment / factions of quests before you accept them. Would require editing dialogues. Something like "Hey, help me check out this abandoned house!" Player choices: "Okay! (Daedric Quest)". I know it's a bit spoilery in a way, but it prevents players from making choices they don't want to without realizing it. 6. "Buildable" furniture. We already have mods that let us place furniture...but for *immersion*, wouldn't it be cool to actually *BUILD* the furniture? Would require furniture placement marker and possible animations. There is already a Hammering animation in the game...could be used (possibly while kneeling?) to show an animation for building a bed / chair / shelf / etc. More immersive decorating! 7. Something else that has always bothered me is how 'seasons' and time work in Skyrim. If you use mods like 'Seasons of Skyrim' or 'Holidays'...you never get to see the different seasons and holidays because of how long the months are. I know there are mods like "Time Passes"...but what about a mod that cuts the game months in half? Instead of 30/31 days...it could be 14/15 days for each month. I know this would mess with holidays - unless a patch could be made eventually. Instead of holidays being on the 30/31st of the month, they could be on the 14th / 15th of the month. So the holidays would need to be squished down to different days, basically. With the in game months cut in half - that would make the total number of in game days change to 182.5 instead of 365. If you use pregnancy mods, that would make 9 months need to be more like 4.5 months to match the new timing. 8. Speaking of time in Skyrim...how do the people of Skyrim keep track of it? There are no clocks, only one moondial in game - but there is mention of sundials. There is one mod that adds Sundials and Moondials: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/60226 I've used it myself, and it is a great idea - but it has a problem with one of the doors under riften. As far as keeping track of what day / month it is - there are no calendars at all. How do people know what month / day it is? 9. Rare Plants - Jarrin root, for example. In Skyrim, Jarrin root is very very rare. So rare that there is only ONE instance of it in the game. Where did it come from? Is it the ONLY plant of it's kind in all of Skyrim? I know it's overpowered - but shouldn't there be a few more somewhere?

Hi! :) I know some games have permission issues, but I'm not sure if that's the case with Guild Wars 2? I noticed this mod for Oldrim, though: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/56031 The Equinox weapons are pretty much my signature weapon set in GW2. It would be awesome to be able to use them in Skyrim as well!! I know that not every weapon type would make sense - but the Axe, Dagger, Greatsword, Staff, Mace, Sword, Bows, and Shield would!! Personally, I'd just want the Greatsword, Staff, and Shield. If there are any mod authors / 3d artists who are bored and need a new project - here is one idea lol. I'm obviously not expecting this to be done - but if anyone feels up to it, you would have my eternal gratitude!! :)

I'm not 100% sure how possible this is - but I noticed there are a lot of "Show Circlets Under Hoods / Helmets" style mods - so I was wondering if hair "extensions" like "Clip in bangs" could be made as circlets? I'm sure they could even be given physics but I'm not sure how they would interact with hairstyles that already come with physics. If this is possible, this could be used to show your "bangs" while wearing a hood. I'm aware that this would cause a lot of potential clipping issues - especially if physics are added...but I'm sure there are a lot of people that would be ok with that as long as they don't go full bald while wearing hoods / helmets lol. I'm thinking something like these:

Hello, I've always felt that Nightingale Hall is...missing something? It starts broken and then gets...restored? Sort of...but it's still not quite right to me. I think it needs a complete make-over, but I don't have the skills to do it at the moment. I know that it uses the same textures + meshes as the Imperial Forts (and the Abandoned Prison used in Alternate Start: LAL). So technically, this would be a make-over for the Imperial Forts, Alt Start LAL, AND Nightingale Hall. That's probably why Nightingale Hall hasn't received much attention, to be honest - because it would affect other places as well. I, personally, don't mind this. Personally, I'm thinking something like black brick maybe? That would be up to whoever (if anyone) decides to do this, though. Just a request / suggestion.

****SPOILER WARNING****DO NOT READ IF YOU CARE ABOUT SPOILERS**** I had a realization recently...and people might find this a bit silly (it is, tbh...but I do have a point, I swear!). I don't actually hate any of the bosses in Skyrim. There are personal reasons for this - let me explain: I'm pretty unusual as a person, I guess. I am part of the goth subculture (this is relevant, you'll see why). Obviously, I won't explode if I step outside and into the sunlight in real life...but playing a fantasy game where unrealistic things can happen...for example: Being goth, I tend to play "goth" / "goth inspired" characters...so...a vampire who wants to block out the sun. I'm 100% on board with that!! Whether I choose to become a vampire or not, it still helps my player character to keep her nice, pale complexion! Even if not a vampire, she'd probably still choose vampires as allies wherever possible. They have things in common lol. Black clothing, pale complexion, hate sunlight, spooky interests, coffins are cool, etc. See where I'm going with this? I mean, don't get me wrong...Harkon is definitely a jerk. Especially for what he pretty much forced his family to endure. Helping Serana get revenge against her power-mad father is awesome...plus, sacrificing mortals is not very nice...but I tend to play as Chaotic Good-ish...and also a Daedra worshipper...so I'd probably side with Harkon as far as blotting out the sun goes and then find another way to solve the "Vampire Take-over" problem. Technically...vampires are people too. Serana herself is proof that they are not ALL evil. It doesn't help that we get Auriel's bow and can still blot out the sun (in a much weaker way) anyway. I'm all for helping Serana defeat Harkon - he most definitely deserves it...and I agree that Serana shouldn't have to DIE for eternal night to happen...I dislike Harkon because of his bad decisions / power for hunger / disregard for his family...but I like his general ideas. My point is I don't hate him as much as I should. As for Alduin - I can't really hate him either. Depending on how seriously you take the lore, he's either going to destroy everything or he's rebelling against his duty to destroy everything. If he's rebelling, my character would be 100% on board with that as well. Go against your destiny! Why not? Sure, she's the Dragonborn who's supposed to save the world from "The World Eater"...but he's a BLACK SPIKY DRAGON! How can she not find that cool?! He's either just doing his job, or he's rebelling against his own nature. How can anyone hate him for that? Miraak is under the control of Hermaeus Mora and is eventually betrayed because...DAEDRA. They don't care, and also don't exist by the same laws / morality as mortals. I hate Hermaeus Mora more than I dislike Miraak. But we never get to actually FIGHT Hermaeus Mora. If we did, we'd pretty obviously not win...but STILL. The point is...TWO DRAGONBORNS!?!? She'd definitely be intrigued at the very least and want to learn / find out as much as she could from him. Sure, he's a jerk too...especially the dragon-soul-stealing and hypnotizing people...but Hermaeus Mora is still much worse! Trying to force her to be the "new champion"? No thanks. She has already pledged her soul to Nocturnal. She'd do everything in her power to escape Hermaeus Mora. Especially since he tries to corner you not once...but MULTIPLE TIMES. Actually, she wouldn't like Molag Bal very much either...with his whole 'domination' thing. But we can't fight the Daedric Princes...and if we could - like I said - we wouldn't win. My point with all this rambling and ranting is that I don't feel "fulfilled" defeating these bosses. Which is majorly due to my own / my character's nature. I don't play as a 'Talos Worshipping Champion of Meridia' and use the "Power of Light and Sunshine" to defeat my enemies. If anyone knows of any mods that add...idk...evil unicorn rainbow pixie pink cupcake princess glitter bubblegum bosses...that want to...turn Tamriel pink...and cause eternal sunshine and rainbows and infect everyone with the giggles...*cringe*...please let me know.

Hi. I do have a bit of insight on this - but only as a player and not from a modder's perspective. There are actually a minimal amount of mods that attempt do combat while jumping / underwater. The way these are usually done is by examining a mod by 'Zartar' called 'Character Behaviors Enhanced'. I'll link a few of these at the bottom of this post, as well as the original mod itself. The problem with all of these mods (Zartar's and all that use that one as a 'framework' / starting point) is that they all break the Solstheim boat cutscene (makes it VERY glitchy, might even CTD), and they also completely BREAK the dragon riding mechanic. I found this out after having the mod [DMT's Underwater Combat and Jump Attacks] and searching for hours online trying to find what was causing all the trouble. I'm not insulting these mods at all - I love that people are trying to do this, but for me...it makes parts of the game completely unplayable. :( If someone could find a work around for this issue, though - that would be AMAZING!! Here are the mods I mentioned: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/90552/ https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/26513 https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/45254 I actually JUST found this patch for the issues I mentioned, but I have not yet tried it myself: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/40417

SSE Mod Ideas: Mourning Wear, Extended Families (Free use)
Xeron222 posted a topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
Hi - I have a few ideas / suggestions if anyone would like to use them. Feel free to use these ideas however you want to. Victorian Mourning Wear - Elegant mourning dresses that could be used for noble vampires or even gothy characters. Some of us prefer modest vampires instead of skimpy ones, lol. Another idea is for more family in skyrim. For NPCs, there could be more connections. I know we have the Black-Briars, Battle-Borns, Grey-Manes, Glover and Delvin Mallory, etc - but I've always felt that many npcs lack family connections. My final idea kind of ties into the previous one: Family for the dragonborn. Maybe there could be an MCM where you choose the eye / hair colors of your parents, grandparents, siblings, whoever before they are even generated into the world. They could be spawned into a vanilla player home of the player's choice. That could be their "family home". The family could have dialogue about various things - if a parent is an alchemist they could give potions: "We live in a dangerous world, my child. Take this. *gives potion*". If the parent is a warrior: "This was your grandfather's sword. It's time I pass it down to you.". There are a lot of possibilities with this one. They could comment on you being the dragonborn: "You're...a...what? Dragon-born? That's not possible. I never did any such thing!" etc. They could have some quest commentary or even commentary about your choices: "My child became a thief...*sigh*..I had such high hopes for you..." "You're going to Bleak Falls Barrow!? Don't you know that place is full of Draugr!?". They could also be 'killable' so that if a dragon / vampire / etc attacks - you have some drama for your roleplay. That's actually a good way to have motivation for a 'vengeance' style roleplay. They could even be voiced with Xvasynth (I personally don't mind it). -
SSE Immersive Barbershop/salon mod? Immersive change hair and beard
Xeron222 replied to incon1's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
This shouldn't be TOO hard to make - it could involve cloning the Face Sculptor and renaming + changing the appearance of the clone...then placing the 'clone' somewhere in the world. There *could* be a clone / barbershop in every city? I don't know how lore-friendly this would be, but the Face Sculptor herself is already pretty questionable in my opinion. My experience with modding has mainly been simple Hair Color / Skintone mods, custom book and letter mods, custom follower mods (with vanilla voice types) - but these are all super easy to do in the CK. I could probably create the 'Clone' npc(s), but I'm not personally comfortable with placing them in the world. I also cannot make buildings... BUT this would work very well for Dirt and Blood users (the Hair / Beard reminder feature): https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/38886- 1 reply

SSE Request: Generations mod + Animal
Xeron222 replied to FantasiaGurl's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
I've thought about this - but the problem is the world won't grow up with you. Whatever quest(s) you are on stay exactly where you left off, whatever quests you haven't started will be exactly the same and involve exactly the same NPCs no matter what 'generation' you are. I could see something like 'Configurable Real Names' being used to rename npcs, but it would be on a massive scale (nearly every npc in the game would need to be renamed?) and that doesn't fix the problem with them LOOKING exactly the same as before. NPCs would need to age somehow and change appearance, the kids in skyrim would all need to grow into actual adult npcs...and somehow the quests would need to continue working. Maybe the kids of NPCs could 'inherit' the quests somehow(?) but what about quest-givers who don't have kids? Something would need to be done about the quest system if an aging system is ever seriously brought to skyrim. Maybe it could begin after the main quest is completed? There could be a warning box that pops up - asking if you're ready to "age the world" (meaning you don't care about any current quests and that way they could all be disabled somehow?). Maybe new quests could be generated for the 'next generation'? This is all just rambling....but someone feel free to use any of this if you would like to. I'm not at all saying this is impossible - it very well could be. It's just the amount of headache required to get it working would be intense lol. LE SUPER Simple Needs | Eat/Drink/Sleep Notifications
Xeron222 replied to Xeron222's topic in Skyrim's Mod Ideas
If anyone knows how to do this, a mod like this COULD become a bigger mod: It could have an MCM menu that lets you set custom times for the messages/notifications. If there's a way to add player input to the messages, there could be a way to create custom reminder messages that pop up at specified in-game times. These are just extra ideas, I'd be happy with the much more simple version.
