  1. Get a haircut/surgery in diamond city; change nothing... your face should re-render. This happens in my game from time to time... Haircuts are cheaper.
  2. Well I'll be damned... I tried every single thing I could think of, every single thing I could find through Thirdstorms FAQ, and throughout the thread for Unique NPCs. In one last final stitch effort before throwing in the towel and deleting this mod, I opened the main.ba2, and copied BaseFemaleBodyRustDevil3.nif over the other two, and bingo... no more CTDs! Thanks so much 4cednovel. I hope you do not take offence for trying you method as a very last resort. I always assume the people who make mods know more about it than me, so I like to try and find myself at fault rather than blame something on the mod author, especially if its not mentioned on the mod page. This just didnt happen to be the case for this example. But I sure learned a heck of a lot more about load orders, merge patches, overwrites, and conflict resolution while moving things around in an ATTEMPT to get it working. That's for sure! But, I am curious how you found this issue, and how one would go about diagnosing "bad" files in a .ba2 If you wouldnt mind either explaining, or linking a thread I can use to learn a bit more about it? Thanks.
  3. This morning I went through LOOT to find "dirty mods" and went through the auto clean feature in FO4Edit to "remove identical to master records" and "undelete and disable records" on all mods with errors. I was surprised that the majority of errors were in official DLCxxxx.esm. Here is what LOOT says now: http://imgur.com/KIQhSfS NOTE: I am NOT relying on LOOT to sort my Load Order, However I did try it. I still get a CTD when attempting to fast travel to the institue. The one "dirty plugin" left is DLCWorkshop2.esm with "2 ITM Records" which can not be automatically cleaned; and as such are a bit above my current pay grade when it comes to mods. But being as this is an official DLC, I find it hard to believe this issue is causing my CTDs while fast traveling to the institute... here is a screenshot: http://imgur.com/GD9cnkP System Specs: Here is the load order I started with: I have tried removing this mod, and verified that I can fast travel to the institute. I have fresh, clean installs of this mod (3x) and tried 2 different texture packs (2k+ and 4kp) I have checked the mod for errors in FO4Edit; screen shot here: http://imgur.com/L7hbMFG The only errors not mentioned in the FAQ that I saw: which I feel safe to assume that means its a clean, valid download of uniqueNPCs since nothing showing a real error like "Cannot Resolve" I then spent over 3 hrs in FO4Edit, trying to figure out load order to minimize conflicts, or optimize them to end with the mod I prefer want and came up with this load order: Still having the CTD issue specific to the institute. This pretty much sums up my last few days and I'm hoping someone, anyone can help me figure out how to get back into the institute with this mod list still active. I really REALLY enjoy this build of fallout, and its such a bummer that I'm having trouble this "late" in my play through (106+ hrs).
  4. Digging more and more into this, I just have a sneaking suspicion that my issue is load order based. I have posted in the FO4 Load Order and Enhanced Performance Thread, however it seems the thread has been abandoned or is no longer watched by those in the know. I have tried my best to follow the guides I have found, but I would really appreciate if someone a bit more experienced could offer a few moments to assist me in trying to get this resolved and/or simply helping me optimize my load order. I realize their might be an issue with the mod itself, but reading through thirdstorms posts, I find it more likely that I have an issue somewhere considering I am very inexperienced with mods in general. Any help anyone can give is greatly appreciated, or a link to somewhere where I can learn to understand how to sort load orders better myself? something a bit more in depth than THIS as this is how I sorted my current load order and I am still having this issue, so something else has to be going on or I misinterpreted something since I have little/no experience here. my system specs are as follows: Windows10 i7-7700k (5.0Ghz) 16gb ddr4 3000 GTX 1060 6gb SuperClocked I am running FO4SE 0.04.02 for: Place Everywhere Achevements AutoSwitching Four_Play framework Here is my current load order:
  5. I still haven't been able to get this mod to work right with the institute fast travel location. I did notice however that I CAN load a save from INSIDE the institute that isn't located at the main central elevator while this mod is fully active and functional. I have tried: moving around load order re downloading texture files (ive tried BOTH 2k+ pack and the 4k performance pack) Deleted the mod via NMM, and re downloaded the fresh main & ESP files. The things that do work: deactivate the UniqueNPC.esp leave the UniqueNPC.esp active and remove the UniqueNPC-main.ba2 file from fallout4/data Both "fixes" mess up the settlers around the commonwealth. and now everyone is named "settler" and half of them are nude or have invisible skin textures (floating eyes and teeth, eek) i know there are console commands to reset settlers, anyone know how to do this? and do I have to do that for each and every settler? I have 18 in sanctuary alone (level 40 character, with 106hrs in game on this save)
  6. So after a little trial and error, I sort of resolved the issue... kind of. I first tried to remove the uniqueNPC mod, deleted all files, and re downloaded them, then reinstalled everything. I put the load order back to how I had it before and tested the game. CTD while fast traveling to the institute still. I then tried to move uniqueNPC to the very bottom of the load order, just to make sure nothing was overwriting or conflicting. The game still CTD upon fast travel to the institute. I then disabled the uniqueNPC.esp and loaded the game. I can now freely travel in and out of the institute as I should. Only downside so far is that every settler is named "settler" and a few of them are now nude. I guess I will either wait for Thirdstorm to patch the mod, or I will open the main.ba myself and remove the BaseFemaleBodyRustDevil1.nif and BaseFemaleRustBody2.nif files which are apparently conflicting files specific to the institute cells... but as of now, "the institute' is working as it should. Edit: Mighty Zog. I'm not sure if there is a way to enter the institute without the transporter or fast travel. This is my first playthrough and I'm playing on difficulty setting "very hard", so I'm not sure how this works on survivor difficulty without fast travel but I have tried to fast travel near where the institute is in the city, and get as close as I can before fast traveling in (the institute is located underneath the CIT Ruins) but my game would still CTD with uniqueNPCs.esp active in the load order. I've gone in and out a half dozen times since disabling the mod and have no issues thus far.
  7. I'm all for playing the game instead of fixing it! But I'll need JAVA on my gaming pc just to run this. Its not a big deal. just trying to keep it clean of otherwise useless things. ha
  8. I'll give it a go and fresh download everything related to this mod this afternoon. and see where it get me first. thank you. But I think I'll save main.ba surgery as a last resort. it just seems the most complicated. the only thing I've ever done is make compatibility patches for Unique followers, and that was MUCH easier then deleting files from a .ba pack... eek. I just don't want to mess it up, I've got a LOT of hours in this playthrough so far (its my first time playing the game as a whole)... so I would HATE to lose it to something stupid I did by mistake as a result of not knowing what I'm doing and moving things around that I dont understand. I hate to download tools just for one reason. and for me it would be to checked saved files. but I'll give this a go if my re download doesn't magically solve anything. I'll keep the thread up to date. Thank you
  9. After reading through The Mod Page Posts and Bugs (page2, very bottom) It looks like thirdstorm thinks its either a corrupt textures download (I dont have any NPC "issues" aside from the red glowing foot glitch occasionally) Or a load order issue. here a screenshot from Mikazu, but my game does something very similar on an female NPC in sanctuary named "bottlecap" ... its ALWAYS her when it does occur. http://imgur.com/a/1u5pU being that I don't suspect a bad texture download; would someone with more experience than myself take a closer look at my Load order and possibly help me get back into the institute?
  10. Why do you suspect this is a base body issue? I'm not arguing or disagreeing, just curious. I'm sure @Thirdstorm would be aware of this issue if it is one? EDIT: found it in the mod thread... I see... hmm... Reading the convo now
  11. I'm still a newb when it comes to load orders, and modding in general, but if you want to post up a current load order, I might be able to help in some way? I've read at length on the topic, but I'm sure you have as well. Here are the general guidelines I follow and it seems to work ok (except for my current issue with the institute) http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10844/
  12. So I need to go back before ever entering the institute and just replay? I may have messed it up because I left without agreeing to join the institute at all...
