  1. I found a video of someone using an interesting mechanic to repair the houses in sanctuary and I prefer this to solutions like empty and beautify sanctuary: thttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yF-tUy8I29M
  2. I agree, I was about to post a request for this same thing. I hope someone is working on it. It might be heavy carrying a lot of scrapped material from outside the settlement zones but we should still be able to do it. It'd be more realistic if you can haul stuff from nearby your settlements for building. Also It would be cool if some or all of the stuff you can scrap might reappear in places that would make sense after some time passes, like trees regrowing for wood or scrapable shacks that randomly appear with tires and other stuff in and around it for more rubber, metal, etc.
  3. Thanks for the replies! I'm using the Sanctuary Empty Town mod now and I like the extra space to build new structures. As Caseter6 mentioned I would love to see a player repairable sanctuary as well I'm glad we have people working on this! What would be awesome is if individual parts of the town could be repaired or removed, like taking out broken walls of a house and replacing them with other walls or walls that look like the ones that are not filled with holes already in houses in sanctuary. I checked out the mod Beautiful Sanctuary and I thought it was cool but it takes a lot away from immersion. Naturally in the Fallout 4 world most things will be broken and worn down, living in a home with gaps wouldn't be all that fun especially if you lived in a post apocalyptic America so I think it makes sense that we should be able to repair the broken houses piece by piece, or maybe even have the NPCs do it a little bit at a time, that would be cool! It would be great if the houses were able to be scrapped, though doing it segment by segment would be awesome too! wouldn't it be cool to have a fixed up pre-war house with the roof removed and made into a multiple storey building? or adding guard towers on top of houses? or expanding outward and upwardmaking a huge structure linking houses together? Part of my original Idea included the bridge as well, for what I had in mind to work the workshop's limited work area at sanctuary would have to include the bridge within it and the bridge should have the option to be scrapped and then the player could rebuild it with floors, rails and supports. This is probably not gonna happen any time soon but it would be cool to remake the bridge or even make multiple bridges or one huge one! Or whatever people can think up, like placing guard towers or making a short maze. A kind of separate mod idea for the bridge would be to have it be already repaired on the side is it broken, built the same as the other side. This way the workshop area wont have to be changed making it easier to create the mod and new bridge building pieces would not have to be made. I also think this would be a cool mod for people to activate after they start building in sanctuary and the nearby Rocketbreaker's Last Gas Station. I think it makes sense that with sanctuary being a bustling settlement after a while people would want a repaired bridge to add to the feel of a completed community. I think either of these mods would be great to have! Especially for people who like to walk everywhere using Sanctuary as their home base, or for people who would like to have a better looking and more functional bridge. Thanks for discussing and working on this, keep up the good work!
  4. In the game we are left to build on top of what is left of Sanctuary but I feel like the 200 year old 1 story houses that you have no way of breaking down in Sanctuary are just an eyesore, and the broken bridge too! this is just an Idea for a mod, but I think it makes sense that after you build a settlement and gather enough supplies that you should be able to repair the place, at least to a state you could bring it in with the materials you would have available to you in a world with only worn down centuries old objects for crafting instead of just leaving it as is. That is why I would really like to see a mod where things in Sanctuary are either repairable, already repaired or at least are completely removable so better things (like a new player built bridge/home) can be put in their place. I spend a lot of time going back to Sanctuary as it is a great home base in the game and I love walking all over the place (rather than fast traveling everywhere) for more immersion in the game, but I always think as I pass the houses and bridge "I could fix you" and I know there are other players who feel that way too. Which is why I think a lot of people would like a mod where you can walk up to broken parts of sanctuary and have something that highlights and says "repair wall/rail/roof" showing what it could be as a highlight. I'm exited for the day when modders will make a lot more in the Fallout 4 world repairable, not just sanctuary.
  5. Barbas the talking dog from A Deadra's Best Friend is a great pal to have around, but only when there are badies around. His immortality proves extremely useful, especially if your not a warrior, but unfortunately when its safe Barbas just loves to stand in your way, and worse, he pushes you in whatever direction hes facing, wether its a cliff, some spikes, or maybe your just trying to place some stuff in your house. Whatever the case, most people seem to agree that Barbas can be a huge pain in the behind. Skyrim needs a mod to give that dog a few feet of distance at least. Edit: sorry for the mistaken title, I would change it if I could, for those who didn't notice his name is Barbas not Barbados twas my bad folks I apologize
