  1. Hi, I'm planning on playing New Vegas again but this time I want a complete overhaul of the game. I want to make it hard and realistic. I've looked on the internet for a realism setup but mostly I get character builds and personal rules. I want some decent mods that change the gameplay dramatically and I hope people around here can point me in the right direction and suggest me some mods. I stumbled more than a few times on "Arwens Realism Tweak" and "ABARM". I'd like to know how you feel about these mods and if there are other good realism/Survivalist mods on the nexus that I need to check out or have to avoid. Why? I found the hardcore mode fairly easy and after a half hour of playing I was already ridiculously overpowered in comparison with NPC's (not deathclaws ofc). I really want to make it a challenge where weapons, ammo, food and drinks are scarce and where every move must be cautiously made. Thx!!
  2. The fast traveling to the camp itself did it for me. Thx for helping me out!
  3. I'll try it out. @Georgiegril: I actually meant the forts near the holds, not Markarth and Riften. I'm not using a CW-mod.
  4. I know this topic has been adressed over and over but I can't find a solution for my specific problem. The core problem is that Galmar won't give me any dialogue options to start the assault on the rift. I'll set the stage. I stretched the main quest line over my whole playthrough and just recently I joined the stormcloakes. To capture Odavhiing I started the quest "Seasons Unending" and at the peace treaty I traded Riften for Markarth and Morthal, which I think resulted in glitching the stromcloaks questline. So after defeating Alduin I carried on with the orders of Ulfric: deliver the axe to Balgruuf, conquer Whiterun, ... But when I had to liberate Falkreath (Fort Neugrad) and therefor report in with Galmar the game glitched the first time: no dialogue option. After some searching I found a solution by disable and reenabling Galmar in the game and the dialogue option popped up. So I liberated Falkreath from the evil clutches of the Imperials and went on with my questline. Because I already negotiated the surrendering of Markarth and Morthal the game probably skipped the liberation of those two holds and I immediately had to liberate Riften. But here it went very wrong. For the second time Galmar refused to give me a dialogue option to start the assault. Again I did some research but every given solution I tried, failed: fastravel and travel back by foot, go talk to Ulfric, get Galmar to his knees, the werewolf solution, sleep and wait for hours, keep starting a dialogue with Galmar, ... I even tried the first solution by disabling him but again it failed to work. This is a bit frustrating knowing that this is actually one of the last quests I need to do. Aside from the radiant quests there is not much more to do after I finish the civil war questline. So if anyone knows how to fix this specific problem I would be very grateful!
  5. Thx for the quick reply. I'll check it out!
  6. Hi I'm new to modding Skyrim. I've played Fallout 3 a second time fully modded and it changed the way of playing drastically. As this was a lot of fun, I'd like to try this on Skyrim as well. I did some research and find some interesting mods. But when playing Fallout 3, I experienced a lot of mods conflicting with eachother, messing up my game. So before I start to change Skyrim and playing it from scratch I'd like your advice on this. Here's a list of mods I'd like to endorse. If only some of you veterans want to check it out and see if it'll work, I'd be very grateful. You'll see that these mods are often the most named on the internet. If by chance you think something is missing and that I'd really should try or you find mods that are outdated: please inform me. I just want the ultimate Skyrim experience. I know it's a big list and therefore my appologies! 7. Thx for the replies. I'll get to it right away! About the save thing: I usually save the game every hour and in between I use quick save. But I got a little sloppy. Fallout makes you lose the track of time :).
  8. Hi, I'm currently playing FO3 under FWE and FOOK2. I made a lot of progress without any big issues (level 24 & most missions accomplished). I made my own party, which consists of Lucy West, Star Paladin Cross, Charon & Dogmeat. I was pretty satisfied with this formula because these characters allow me to specify their combat style (sniper, shotgun, big gun and dogmeat as melee). But today I was quite curious about the real entrance of Vault 87. I must admit I used the "tgm" command in the console so I could wander to the entrance without being killed by the high doses of radiation. When me and my squad arrived at the door, I concluded that the entrance was accessible, something that was impossible in unmodded Fallout I guess. Out of curiousity I entered Vault 87 and inside the entrance glitched. Two sentry bots took fire but I could only see a brown plain ahead of me and in fear of dying I evacuated the vault. Outside I found myself alone and I left the area. After a minute Dogmeat and Charon rejoined the party but Lucy and Star stayed absent. After a while I worried that I might lost them so I used the player.moveto command (I saved the game just before that). I found them both little further from my previous position (snipers shack as I recall). They both were very injured and just to be certain I fast traveled to Megaton to patch them up and review their ammo and weapons. They followed me to my house but when I entered they both fell dead to the ground. I redid the process by returning to my saved game and entered another building, same thing happened. I tried again but now I found them both flying around like elastics and both dying when I fast traveled to any location. I restarted the game hoping this glitch would be solved by this but it made any difference. I searched the internet for a while but I couldn't find any similar problem. Is there anyone who knows how to solve this? I could go back to an earlier save but that would make me lose a lot of progress since I usually play with quick save and load. Yannick
