  1. Hey aruless, Not sure if you're going to check back but that did the trick. I think I was just so frustrated that I over looked that video in lieu of the one I was watching. Thanks a lot, now I can continue on building my test level with some custom armor and weapons! Thanks!, Chalkout
  2. Hey aruless, Thanks for the reply. I'm sure I've watched this video ( I've watched all his Skyrim videos so far). But maybe I missed something. Ill watch the video a little bit later when I have more time. In the mean time does anyone else have any possible suggestions? Thanks
  3. Hey All, Im new to modding Bethesda games, but I have some experience modding. I wanted to make a simple weapon mod just to see if I could do it before I actually make a huge mod. I have followed tons of tutorials and read a few posts on this site, but now I am just tired of banging my head on my keyboard. So here's what I have: I took the Long Sword and cut the bottom bracket / hilt aesthetics off: Before: http://i.imgur.com/Eah0J.jpg After: http://i.imgur.com/GuJIr.jpg Seriously the only change I made. Then I proceeded to make a new fancy UVW map and paint: http://i.imgur.com/kLw2K.jpg Everything was going smooth (after getting past a few headaches). Until I went to add it in game. This is where I have stumbled onto my two most recent and hopefully final problems. I created the .nif using the 3DS Max .nif export plugin (Ill call longmixone_1.nif) loaded up the game and everything worked fine. I managed to be able to craft it and equip it, but when I equip it, it end up just laying on the ground under my character instead of in their hands. But I could still swing the invisible sword in my hand and kill things. So I decided to make a new .nif (Ill call this longmixone.nif) after realizing I left a few things out due to my first longmixone_1.nif being a full export from 3DS Max and not having any of the other Long Sword batch strings and things. So now I have my second longmixone.nif set up exactly the same. This time I used Longsword.nif from the Skyrim Data files as a base and just replaced the NiTriShapeData to reflect the sword that I exported as a .obj from 3DS Max. The problem with the longmixone.nif is, the textures wont show up in nifskope (the do for longmixone_1.nif) and now whenever I load my game it crashes (This is probably due to my character already having the sword crafted and equipped). Overall this process has been long and tedious just for a little modification. I did however learn a lot along the way and so far I am not completely discouraged, I just figured I would try to save time and my face by asking for a little help. Here is a link to a .7z of ALL the files for this project, so if someone could please take a look at them and let me know whats wrong then that would really help out. Longmixone
