I found the issue. What I thought was a critical effect was actually the perfect block effect from the ultimate combat mod. I resolved the conflict it was having. Game is running smoothly again!

Processor: AMD A4-5300 APU with Radeon RAM 4 GB 64 bit I am using the latest versions of NMM, LOOT, SKSE, and FNIS. Not every block causes this problem. It seems to only be when I am struck with critical attacks while, and only while, I'm blocking. The shield model doesn't seem to matter and I've tried disabling the critical sound effect through a plugin but it doesn't seem to help at all. I thought the problem might instead be from conflict with my combat and perks mods but even when I've disabled them the problem still persists. I'm not sure when the problem started or, as you might have guessed, what mod is causing these issues. Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you Edit: File didn't attach.
