  1. The NWN2DB is widely used amongst NWN2 players to plan ahead their characters. However, recently there were some severe issues with the site. Here is a follow-up:

    http://nwn2db.freeforums.org/nwn2db-funding-t208.html

Maybe we could mark this in some special way, because this is about the continued availability of NWN2DB.

Mick has just moved the site to a new, dedicated server, which should see some improvement from there being issues with certain times of day. He is going to experiment this week to see what level of resources the DB needs to run that bit more smoothly.

Note that this change has increased his costs, and any upgrade would increase them further. He hasn't had a donation forever. I'm going to make one, but I thought I'd make a plea on here, and maybe elsewhere for donations from anyone who can afford to make one.

I haven't floated it across Mick's bow yet, but I was thinking that anyone makes a donation can make a suggestion for an improvement to the site. We'll then let Mick know our top wishes.

Feel free to spread the message across anywhere that people make use of the site.

  2. Realms of Trinity works with "Epic Relevels", but that doesn't work with "artifacts", but with "free" stat points you add on every "relevel". AFAIK, a relevel means you get to rebuild your character from level 1 (but not level 1 itself). Note that this is limited by the fact that stats have a hard cap of 50 (+20 modifier). Stat increases (from items, rage etc.) have a cap of +12 (+6 modifier). Look here for other caps.

The only server I know that gives you "real" levels after 30, is DungeonEternalX. I believe Pain uses NWNx4 to accomplish this.

  3. Beyound the limitations of the toolset I think there is little that you can do that is realy adult' date=' you could depict nudity if you tried hard, though it is not realy worth it, and I guess you could put in lots of swearing; in reality you will need to try very hard to offend and a good warning up front will cover that.[/quote']

    Have you played "16 Cygni"?

Would love to see a totaly evil short mod some day.

    Try "Serene".

Don't know if the above mods are uploaded to the nexus yet, but they're available at the nwvault.

  4. Immoral decisions? Oh right, the

    stuff with the souls?

. Didn't really have any issues with that, I tend to roleplay my Good characters as "practical", at least to some extent, and you don't always have the luxury of choice. I agree with post #11.

But I haven't tried the Makeover, and I'm sure an alternative way is enjoyable. On the occasion I'd like to thank Kaldor Silverwand for his great Dream Weapon Fix.

In any case, if you approach the Good-Evil stuff from a power gamer perspective, both sides have their advantages.

    Items: if you kill and

    devour

everything, you'll get far more and better items. Evil characters also get feats to help them with that. There's one very good item only good characters (?) can get though.

Good characters can get one feat that is the best healing feat in the game.

It's like a mass greater restoration/ressurect spell, and thus incredibly powerful. you get it after healing Wood Man, and gives +2 good every time you use it

. The way combat was designed and implemented in MotB means it's more for kindergarten than anything else, so you may not need it. Unless you're "dedicated" like me and modify your game.

Good and evil get different companions. The good companion you can only give certain kinds of equipment, so it takes more effort to keep him alive. Although his offense is "okay", but in general, I'd say he's not worth having. Evil companion I have no experience with, apparently it can change forms

into a rogue, barbarian and warlock.

    .

Also whatever you do, try to keep influence up, as it gives some nice bonuses. I've also seen people (partly) go the "evil" path for the bonuses, but stick to a good aligned character (for the ending I suppose).

That's probably not all of it, I could hardly be bothered with one MotB play-through, and some reading about the evil path.
