  1. WOW! Dude! I cannot thank you enough. Watched Gopher's playlist on how to get started with Vortex. Did literally everything you asked in the exact same order till I got the 'Achievements Disabled' prompt. Installed and deployed each mod step by step and checked in-game textures simultaneously and it WORKED. I'm currently following this site for the mod list : https://eso-ui.com/fallout4/ I'm halfway through the mod list with no problem and immediate noticeable changes. I still don't know what went wrong the first time (It can be anything from installing FSE Loader to Install/Load order of mods or even pure negligence on my part to check everything step by step). So to anyone who finds this thread in future facing the same problem, go to page 3, read @1ae0bfb8's instructions, be patient & thorough and you're guaranteed to get results. I also appreciate everyone who tried to help. Thank you! Cheers!
  2. *sigh* OP if you're still following this thread, it's probably time for you to start over. this is my advice based on your comments in this thread - it's free so its worth what you paid for it. if it was my game, i would do this; before i start, i would watch this video series; this is about as good an intro as there is. watch it, they're not long and they're not confusing. 1. go into vortex and purge all my mods. make sure all of them are uninstalled. you don't need to delete the archives, unless you want to redownload everything again, just make sure that there are no mods installed in your game by vortex. 2. delete my data folder from my fallout directory. this deletes all my mods, loose files and everything else.our 3. use steam to validate my game files. this will recreate the data directory, but it will be empty. at this poinit you are left with a vanilla game. start the game. does it start okay now? if it starts okay congratulations you've got a vanilla game working. you can quit the game now, this was just a smoke test to make sure you're on the way. 4. fire up vortex and download and install the unofficial fallout 4 patch. make sure you enable and deploy the mod. you can find this mod here; https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4598 5. start up the game and select new game. you should get a warning telling you mods are loaded and achievements are disabled. if you get the warning in step 5, congratulations you have modded fallout 4 correctly. you can stop the game at this point. oh and one more thing; you say you had the bethesda high resolution pack downloaded and installed. don't use this. it's apalling. there are many, many better and more optimal texture packs on nexusmods. do yourself a favour and make sure you have this option unselected in steam, so that you don't bring this into your game files. i promise you this will cause you untold issues if you use it, it's just not worth it even though it's free. i'll stop this thread here, because there's a lot to digest. i encourage you to take your time, and follow the steps one by one. if you can reply to this topic we can continue. Will do and get back to you ASAP. Thank you so much. Your time and help much appreciated.
  3. two posts, both containing the same nonsense. well done you. Mate, I already explained what i meant in that second topic... The main point of my post was adding the lines to Fallout.ini and Custom.ini , not my guess that Vortex does not deploy texture mods. Please stop being toxic, unfortunatelly my solution did not work for dbsmishra but it worked for me, so atleast i tried... not being toxic. passing bad advice could be considered toxic as in you could cause even more problems getting the OP to edit allsorts of files which is simply not required. your assertion that vortex "ignores" ba2 files is simply wrong, made worse by a further assertion that it will install some ba2 files but not others. this shows a complete lack of understanding about how mod managers work and how to add mods to your game. none of what you suggested is correct, or necessary. the issue with the OP is going to be resolved by the OP eventually going back to a clean install, and following one of gopher's vortex tutorials about how to set it up and get going. it's nothing to do with ignoring some files or making wild edits that are not necessary. it's entirely down to the fact that the OP's setup of vortex isn't optimal. helping people is fine, but you need to know what you're talking about otherwise your well-intended efforts could further derail the OP and then what happens? well going on history, people will blame vortex, as they always do (read the vast majority of posts in these forums). to help, you need to be clear and correct. otherwise you're just adding to the problem. Yes, I did follow Gopher's vortex installation guide for FalloutNV and it worked like a charm. I downloaded his entire FNV mod list, followed his instructions and faced zero problems. Unfortunately he hasn't made any extensive texture overhaul videos for Fallout4 so I just followed the same instructions as FNV. To my surprise I didn't face any conflicts so that was kind of a relief. But eventually all of the above happened which lead me here. I will take your advice and do a clean installation of everything WITHOUT the High Res Pack as @HadToRegister pointed out if I don't have enough VRAM my textures would look bad in general. If it still doesn't work I think I'll have to move to Fallout 4 Support forum as @AugustaCalidia suggested. Thanks a lot.
  4. What "Archive Invalidation" did you add to the ini file? Also, if it was you that posted the closeup armor and road pics, that looks normal when your graphic card can't keep up loading the Hi Res textures. What card to you have and how much VRAM does it have? My fallout4.ini [ARCHIVE] section looks exactly like this. No, it wasn't me who posted the closeup screenshhots. This is my first post in this forum :P I added the following lines in fallout4custom.ini : [Display] iLocation X=0 iLocation Y=0 [Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 sResourceDataDirsFinal= I use a GTX 1060 6 GB. I think the VRAM might be a problem here because the recommended VRAM is 8 GB. What should I do? Thank you.
  5. @HadToRegister Did everything you asked. Checked EXTENSIONS tab and everything seems to be in place and enabled. This is my load order which was sorted automatically by vortex after I enabled all the plugins and clicked on 'Sort Now' This is the only conflict I faced during the installation/deployment of all the mods i.e. between Enhanced Blood Texture and FO4 Texture Optimization Project. In the rule, I've set EBT to load 'After' FO4 TOP. Please rectify the rule if it's wrong.
  6. Ok. Thank you! So what am I doing wrong here exactly? Do you have any idea? Do you want me to share my load order?
  7. Ye Well, this is a problem.... Installed the MOD MANAGER VORTEX, in the Same Directory as the High Res Pack? Do you mean you have Vortex installed in the Game Data Directory, or somehow have Vortex installed in its Own Mod Staging Folder? -OR- when you say "Installed Vortex in the same directory" do you mean you Installed Vortex on the same DRIVE as the Game? Yes, I mean I've installed the game(steam) and vortex in the same drive. Sorry for the misinformation. Paths are as follows: Game : G:\Games Installed\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4 Vortex Installation: G:\Games Installed\Vortex Vortex Mod Staging folder : G:\Vortex Mods\fallout4
  8. two posts, both containing the same nonsense. well done you. Would you mind being helpful rather than going around criticizing others who are atleast trying? well i think someone giving you information that is just plain wrong is not helping. but hey - if you want to take their advice, be my guest. good luck figuring it out. Hey man, you just don't get it do you? I'm not saying you're wrong at all. What I'm trying to say is if you don't have anything substantial to contribute in this matter, you shouldn't go shutting down anyone who is atleast trying. Correct them and try being helpful maybe? If it worked for him/her (somehow), it might work me. You don't have to be rude about it. I've come across atleast 30 posts regarding the same issue I'm having and I'm pretty confident this matter is not resolved yet. If you know something, pass on the information. If you know what's wrong OR you want more information from my side, please let me know. If you know someone who can help, refer them here. Thanks.
  9. two posts, both containing the same nonsense. well done you. Would you mind being helpful rather than going around criticizing others who are atleast trying?
  10. S I have / had the same issue with Vortex, Tried changing the sResourceDataDirsFinal in Fallout4.ini and Fallout4Custom.ini (located in documents/mygames/fallout4) which was blank, to sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, MESH\ and it partially worked!!! I can see most of the textures from mods now, but I think not all of them, for example Vivid textures are not present, maybe it´s due to it being a ba2 fle texture mod, which vortex seems to ignore and not deploy. So try that, maybe it will work with every texture mod you have :-) Found it here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/377160/discussions/0/135512931350867828/ Sorry, that didn't work for me. Also, going through the attched Steam forum post, I tried searching for "sResourceArchiveList or SResourceArchiveList2 should have those BA2 names like SResourceArchiveList2= Fallout4 - Animations.ba2, RaiderOverhaul - Main.BA2, RaiderOverhaul - Textures.BA2" in my Fallout4.ini file which would imply I have texture mods installed/deployed. I did find similar stuff in Fallout4.ini : [Archive] sResourceDataDirsFinal= sResourceIndexFileList=Fallout4 - Textures1.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures2.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures3.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures4.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures5.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures6.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures7.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures8.ba2, Fallout4 - Textures9.ba2 sResourceStartUpArchiveList=Fallout4 - Startup.ba2, Fallout4 - Shaders.ba2, Fallout4 - Interface.ba2 SResourceArchiveList=Fallout4 - Voices.ba2, Fallout4 - Meshes.ba2, Fallout4 - MeshesExtra.ba2, Fallout4 - Misc.ba2, Fallout4 - Sounds.ba2, Fallout4 - Materials.ba2 SResourceArchiveList2=Fallout4 - Animations.ba2 SGeometryPackageList=Fallout4 - Geometry.csg SCellResourceIndexFileList=Fallout4.cdx SResourceArchiveMemoryCacheList=Fallout4 - Misc.ba2, Fallout4 - Shaders.ba2, Fallout4 - Interface.ba2, Fallout4 - Materials.ba2 bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 I don't know what to make of it though. Are the mods working? Or are they failing to overwrite the vanilla textures?
  11. Ah, sorry :P I'm facing the exact same issue with the exact same game on the exact same modding software so I thought I'd continue the thread and find out if the author found any solution. Anyway, new topic has been posted with the necessary details.
  12. Hello, Complete modding noob here and would appreciate any help. I installed Fallout 4 with High Res Texture pack, installed Vortex in the same DRIVE(edited from:directory), added data invalidation lines in the ini files, and installed/deployed the following mods(in screenshot). (I faced one conflict between Enhanced Blood Texture and Fallout 4 Texture Optimization Project to which I set the rule to load EBT after Fallout 4 TOP[Please correct me if I'm wrong]) All the mods work except the building/landscape/environment etc. textures. I can see that Enhanced Blood textures work and so does Improved Maps with visible road 2.0. I found multiple posts on the same issue but couldn't find a solution anywhere. The mods that don't show any effect are: - FlaconOil 2k - NMCs Bundle HIGH - SavrenX Landscape Interior Building DLC - High Res Pack 2k - Valius - Vivid Fallout - All in one Building interior/exterior, roads etc look really bad and very low res. Some in-game components look good though like cabinets in some houses so I think some mod is working. I didn't set my load order manually. I let vortex sort the load order. https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/8421313-vortex-texture-mods-do-not-work-all-other-mods-work-fine-any-ideas/ This was my reference post so I've tried everything that was done here before proceeding to make a new topic to see if this issue has been resolved. If you need any further information please let me know. Thank you.
  13. Hello, Did you find a solution to this issue? I am facing the EXACT same problems now.
