Killing alduin does not banish all the other dragons. They are here to stay.

You can also assasinate the emperor as part of the dark brotherhood chain. I'm not sure exactly how this effects Skyrim. Whether it helps them by throwing the empire and it's legion into disarray, or hurts them by just plain pissing people off.

Have you done the imperial/stormcloak civil war chain? Thats sorta the other half of the main quest. (And it offers some more tangible rewards as far as gear goes. Though I think the reward from killing Alduin is being able to summon Odhaviin.)
