I was able to solve the issue. It had me suspicious when I didn't start the game with SKSE itself but with the original exe-file. Turned out it was indeed a SKSE related issue. When removing all files from the Data\SKSE\Plugins folder I was able to start the game with all my mods again. With further tests I was able to identify the file SkyUtilities.dll as culprit. Deleting it restored my game to full functionality again :)

So originally I was able to play my game with more then 200 mods installed. Lately I have a very weird issue where when I load more then 113 mods in my game the game will not start anymore but freeze during the start-up.
It has been a few years since last I played Skyrim and in the meantime I haven't touched neither the game nor any of my mods. On my computer the only thing changed was the graphics card (to a newer model) so I asume there is no physical cause for the issue.
The reason to try and start Skyrim again was me realizing that some of the mods I am using were updated, so I installed the latest version of SkyTEST, ORS_SolitudeGate and Milk. A few others were just to come when I thought maybe I should test if the game is still running. And all of a sudden - crash.
So I began my trouble-shooting... deactivated mods, changes the load order, reinstalled older versions of the mods... nothing worked. And now I reached the limit where - for no logic reason at all - I cannot start the game if more then 113 mods are activated no matter which mods I activate. New installing of a mod actually reduced the limit of mods being loaded to only 112, rewriting the load order using wyre bash reduced it even more to now only 110 mods.
This is a huge step back (I have about 218 mods normally) so I would really apprechiate your help since I never stumbled upon such an issue ever before and I also have no explanation whatsoever for it.

I have the same f***ing problem. Was trying to install Skyrim online but couldn't get it to work because of this bug.
I spend several hours in finding the source of the bug but was unable to get anywhere near it. The problem is, even when installing mods and the game works fine - after some tries I get the bug and when I deinstall the mod I installed last, the bug still remains. I often have to go back many steps until it is solved again. So I'm clueless which mod is really causing the issue.
I deleted all of the following mods by suspicion and the starting of my game now works sort of stable (at the moment):
Tropical Birds
Skyrim School of Witchcraft and Wizardry
ZazResources
and all Sexlab Mods so far.
I can further confirm that the following mods are causing the issue on my system with a very high chance (above 90 % ):
Convenient Horses
Helgen Reborn
Race Menu
Realistic Needs and Diseases
and Sneak Tools

you could use TES5Edit to switch the outfit, works without probs for me.
Well, not exactly the sollution I was looking for but at least it works. So thank you anyway :)

The problem still exists. With other clothing mods too. Can't add any new armor as default outfit for NPCs. The NPCs will only be naked.
Here is what I did so far:
1.) Added a completely new Outfit with the CK.
I) I created a new outfit
II) I added the armor parts I wanted the NPC to wear to that outfit
III) I added the outfit to that NPC
-> NPC is displayed correctly in the CK. Ingame he/she ist still naked.
2.) Edited an already existing outfit with the CK
I) added some of the new armor parts to an already existing outfit
II) added that outfit to another NPC
-> NPC is displayed correctly in the CK. Ingame he/she would only wear the stuff which has been in the outfit from before.
3.) Replaced armor parts
I) replaced some of the meshes from working armor with new ones
-> Again the f*cking NPC is displayed correctly. Ingame he/she would only wear the replaced meshes without any problem. All other armor parts are still whown as naked.
This has happened to me now with The Sorceress Armor, the Ashara Imperial Outfit and the Midnight Breed Armor. Can't figure out why the hell it wouldn't work.

What about Tundra defense? That mod lets you build your outpost/town anywhere you want it.

Hello there, I have a request to make.
The CK offers the function to give NPCs sleeping outfits. But none NPC uses them which is very sad.
Well, I suck at writing scripts and all my tries so far resulted in game errors and crashes so I wanted to ask:
Is there someone out there who would write a script that makes all NPCs change their clothes when sleeping? It would give the game more immersion and also a wider variety of armor/clothes to use. Some of you already did various sleeping-mods but nothing which included such a feature.
I heard by the way that this was a regular function in Oblivion.
Some mod come near such a function. For example the Bathing Beauties Luxury Suite uses a script to strip NPCs naked when they go to bed in the Luxury Suite or in the bath-tub. So there should be a way to do something similar with all other beds, too.
Could anyone please help me?

Oh, if you find a good way to solve those deleted navmeshes, care to post it for us? : )
I'll do so but until now there was no solution left. Looks like I'll have to work for a replacement myself.
Might as well post here again as soon as one or more mods have cleaned navmeshes.

I don't use both for good reasons. Warzones was one of the most instable mods ever and made my game crash already at the first test. So I deactivated it before even making a savegame with it and that was already one and a half year ago.
And Immersive Creatures were never on my PC. Didn't need that one since I habe SkyTest and RealWildlife.
But you guys helped me a lot already. I'll try to solve the problem with the nasmeshes. And well - when I can find the time anytime I'll also try the reinstall with Wrye Bash.

1. You don't have Dawnguard, Hearthfire or Dragonborn. Some mods require those. Other mods provide a version that allows you to use them without the DLC. Make sure you used the correct version. You'll have to check your mods individually.
Yes, I don't have any of the DLCs. That's why I only use Mods which clearly don't need the DLCs. Some of them are not up to date - that's because I don't want to buy the DLCs. So I have to stick to the versions which only use Skyrim.esm and Update.esm.
By the way: Would I use a mod which needas a DLC, the game would crash instantly after the start. I don't have that problem ^^
That may be one problem. I wasn't able to solve that so far. Some mod authors said that is normal, others weren't able to do something about it and some said they will make an update. It's a pain in the ass with these navmeshs.2. You have a LOT of deleted navmesh records. Check the mod description if this is normal.
Compability patch for or an audio overhaul!? I doesn't do anything else but change some of the sound effects ingame. Why need a compability patch for that? None of my other mods touches the audio files so far o.O3. I don't see any AOS compatibility patches as recommended by BOSS. Are you sure you don't need any?
I this chase, BOSS is completely wrong. I'm using the latest CBBE-body and had all armors working so far. From the ones made for UNP, I use only the ones which are either compatible with CBBE or don't have to many glitches. They are all tested one by one so that couldn't be a problem.4. You have a LOT of armors missing the requirement mods (CBBE and UNP). And I'm not sure if you can use CBBE and UNP together since they both alter the NPC bodies. You'll have to choose only one (CBBE or UNP), and dump the mods that require the other, or if you're lucky they have a patch to allow them to be used with the other body mod.
My bad - I must have missed that :confused:5. Solitude City of Trade.esp is incompatible with Solitude City of Trade.esm, you only need one. -

Hey there
I've a very annoying problem. I recently downloaded the Sorceress Armor for CBBE and it works fine so far.
Then I thought I could add it to a few NPCs with the Creation Kit.
So I created a new file with this armor as master file, created an outfit with the armor parts in it and added it to the desired NPCs. But instead of wearing this armor they now are all naked. I even checked their inventory via console: They don't even have the armor in it.
So the next thing I did was adding the part of the armor one by one in their inventory. Still the same result.
The last thing I tried was adding the armor directly in its esp-file to the NPCs by creating the outfit there and then adding it to the NPCs. But nope - all I get is striptease.
WTF!?
What ist wrong with this s***? Why don't they wear that armor? Not even have it in their inventory? Did I do something wrong or is the CK just completely useless!?

As I've said before, a copy of your BOSS log would really help to see exactly what is going on in terms of your mod order, dirty mods, BOSS warnings etc.
Sorry, I forgot about that.
The question might be a bit noobish but: Where do I find the BOSS log?
I'm still not used to that software :-/
And yes, I used Wrye Bash but where do I find something about scripts!? I didn't know it could do that. It only shows me my mods, my savegames (which all have orange color) and changes in the Skyrim.ini but not more o.O

Well this crappy forum wouldn't let me post my papyrus log. So I can't copy it in here. I tried it for already three days but every time this s*** of a forum is freezing. Sorry guys, but I don't know how to fix that -.-
In the meantime I was able to fix the issue with the game crashing when trying to loot animals. One of the compability-patches for Real Wildlife was messing with the leveled lists, causing a CTD whenever the game had to load one of the lists. Repairing the mod with the CK solved that one.
Now there are still a few random crashes left. I'd like to post any of my logs here but the forum won't let me :-/
There is just one Script which produces for about 119093 errors (no joke, I counted them with Word to be sure). The Script is called "MannequinActivatorSCRIPT".
The standard error of this script is the following:

Unless he's hitting the RAM limit. How much RAM is Skyrim using (use Skyrim Performance Monitor). It's a 32-bit application, so hitting 3.1GB RAM is an automatic crash for the game.
Also, after rechecking your mods:
Deadly Dragons and DragonSoultoPerk -> AFAIK incompatible. DD already has a Dragon Soul to Perk conversion mechanism.
SkyTEST and Real Wildlife -> AFAIK incompatible as well.
Other mods you are using aren't ones I've tried so I can't say. However I can see that a lot of them are adding additional stuff to the world, so hitting the RAM limit may be likely.
Also, The only thing I can advise if you want to save your current playthrough, is to make a clean save (dump your equipment in a chest in your house, and while naked or wearing a vanilla armor/clothing, save OUTSIDE your house. Have nothing on your character.
Then start enabling 5 mods at a time and loading the game (obviously do not save it after it loads). When you crash trying to load the save, you'll have narrowed down the culprit to one of five.
It's not even close to 3.1. The maximum I got was 2.030 and lower.
By the Way: SkyTEST und Real Wildlife are compatible. I bashed them myself and reprogrammed them until there were no issues left.
And I already did like you suggested but the results are illogical. Sometimes a mod is valid sometimes it isn't. As I said, when I remove about 120 mods (irrelevant which i remove) the save works again.
EDIT: Okay, I could nail the problem with my game crashing when saved down to the mod frostfall. But I still get crashs when I try to loot some animals or bandits. Maybe something with the leveled lists is wrong...

Have you followed Oubliette's advice used BOSS to sort your load order, Wrye Bash to check for mod dependencies (including out of order master files), and TES5Edit to check for any major incompatibilities (including dirty edits)?
I would seriously advise you to reinstall the mods you are using one by one using Wrye Bash (as among other things it will also show which individual files in the mod you are installing (meshes, textures, scripts etc.) conflict with other mods you have installed).
even having done all that, and ensuring there are no major conflicts, it would still be a good idea to abandon your old save game, as all kinds of junk (missing scripts, old versions of scripts etc.) could be baked into your save, and there is no true way to clean a mod out of a save.
I think I'll have no other choice but to abadon the savefile. I already did use BOSS to arrange and change my load order and cleaned all mods with TES5Edit.
The strange thing is, my clean save is working properly and without any of these issues. My first guess was that some scripts are makeing this mess.
But the thing I don't understand is: When I remove about 120 of my mods (it doesn't matter which, I tried it with several combinations already) the original save is also working again. So why is my clean save working with all my mods but the original save only with a few of them? Removing mods doesn't change the scripts affecting the savegame, does it?

Yes, they're serious. You can get your load order out of NMM, Wrye Bash or simply by copying the relevant lines out of your ini :rolleyes:
That said, you're not knowing how to do that suggests to me that you've been either 'hot swapping' mods (putting mods in and out of your load order without testing or properly cleaning your saves) or that you've been playing all 200+ mods without checking for compatibility or running BOSS. So the following is standard trouble shooting for mod issues not pinned to a single mod (this is why you test every single mod in your install as you go, individually and with all your other mods - to pinpoint problems at the mod from the very beginning).
- First - have you verified your game files through steam and updated to the latest patch?
- Second - uncheck all your mods, start a new game, save after Helgen. This will be your 'tester save.' Do Not Overwrite or Delete this save.
- Third - Check five mods.
- Four - Go into game with your tester save. Run from one end of the game world to the other. Go into a few cities. Interact with a few things that are mod related. See if anything crashes.
- Five - No crashes? Repeat 3-5. It crashed or something's not right? Go to step 6.
- Six - something crashed? uncheck one of the five mods then go back to your tester save, repeat step 4.
Continue until you have found and fixed all crashing and freezing errors.
Once you have a clean save you can use it to test all new mods quickly and efficiently. Save often. Do not overwrite your saves unless you're sure the new save will work - that is how you make a backup. Download and learn to use Wrye Bash, it will allow you to see what mods your saves depend on and quickly reload just those mods necessary as well as a lot of other important save cleaning functions.

I have a very bad issue. My game has become nearly unplayable. Whenever it's running longer than 5 minutes it will crash to desktop.
Also, whenever i come near some special positions (for example Dragonbridge, Solitude entry or Fort Amol) it will crash also.
Even when I try to loot animals or bandits the game immediately crashes.
I also can't save or fast travel anymore.
Last - when I try to end the game regularly it gives me a C++ run-time error, resulting in a freezing PC and a Blue Screen of Death.
I've now tried several weeks to solve this s*** but can't figure out what the problem is. I also tried other savegames with less crash but all in all similar problems.
I've got a heavily modded game (something in between 220 and 250 mods installed) and coulnd't figure out which one/ones is/are the source of this issue. he only working solution so far was to remove about 150 mods, in there such popular things like the SkyMoMod, SkyTest, Immersive Weapons, Immersive Armors and Helgen Reborn. But seriously - is that the only way?
So I desperately need your help. Is there anything out there which could at least give me an error report so that I could see which data are causing these problems?
All mods have been cleaned with TesVEdit, I even made bashed files to ensure the most possible compability, still with no change. So - please - if anyone could help me, that would be much appreciated :sad:

I have to resurrect this topic again because I am stuck with the same issue. Tried anything to get it working but it seems this quest is utterly broken since the update to the next gen version.
even the addfact command in the console doesn't do anything despite me trying to add the commands addfact(sq312_fdb_ves_end) and addfact(sq312_fact_vey_alive)
Is there anyone who knows a solution that doesn't include to completely restart the game in an earlier version?
