  1. Hello all. Need your help. Iam also interested in running a separate game files on the same laptop: MSI i7-6700HQ. I am fairly heavily modded in current game on C: drive (game player level 70+), And now want to install a new clean game on D: with some of the same mods, but starting from the beginning of the game again. And without compromising the existing game on the C: drive. I would like to be able to play both as separate characters, skills, and factions. It appears this can be done, but am not able to follow some of the links previously posted. It can not be as simple as re-installing from the disk, or is it? Please advise process, and pitfalls, and what problems to avoid. Was using NMM (think i still can). Now using Vortex (most recently for this year) Thanks for all input. (i'm not a tech guy so the more Laymen terms the better. Lol)
  2. @Calundrus @Aleanne Help! So how did you fix this actually?? I very recently subscribed to Vurt Flora Overhaul (Redux), but was seeing this occasional strange texture on rocks and snow. As I moved about, I noticed the detail/resolution would change somewhat. So I disabled it in Nexus Mod Mgr, but still have the 1k_dds_nif_vurts-flora-overhaul.bsa and 1k_dds_nif_vurts-flora-overhaul.esp files in my data folder. Now my game play looks exactly like the image posted by Calundrus. I'm at around level 55 and never had my game look so bad. The textures don't load in detail until I get close to something; plants, animals, bandits in camps. I read about a fix that instructed to change the settings in Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini. So, in the Skyrim.ini I have changed the following: uGridsToLoad=5 → 9 uExterior Cell Buffer=36 → 100 But I still see no change to the game play. Could you help me with this too, and expand a bit on how you fixed this issue?? Thx!
  3. @flobalob @blitzen Thanks for the reply and clarification !! Z
  4. @Danny, I have the same issue, but my error msg popup indicates that I have: -1. Following your directions, I checked the plugins.txt file and there is no skyrim.esm present among the plugins list. So I added skyrim.esm one time up at the top of the list. But I also noticed everything else in there is .esp type file. Did I do that right?? Please let me know. (attached is my error msg) Thanks! Z
  5. Hey Breandan, In my case, I was missing the 'Skyrim Script Extender v1.4.15' (SKSE). It made all the difference in the world. I'm now up and running with about 10 mods; all doing what they're supposed to do, except for one (and it was a kind of a cheat mod anyway). Lol Good luck!
  6. Yes, that is where the error originally occurs. (see screen-cap images from initial posting). Thank you.
  7. Hello HeyYou, Thanks for your reply; here is what the image looks like in Photoshop (see attachment). As you can see, the picture is askew, pixel and color quality is way off, etc... I have saved original bmp file as jpg and reduced by 50% to upload as an attachment here. What do you think?? FYI - other prtsc images on this pc look just fine. I should mention, that when using pntsc in Skyrim, that the file saves automatically (bmp) to StreemApps/common/skyrim folder; whereas otherwise I would paste the pntsc image into a paint or photoshop program, and 'save as' into what ever format (jpg) and folder I choose. Thanks! Zoyberg
  8. Hello, My issue is when I use pntsc in game, popup message says 'saved image as ScreeShot5', etc; but when attempting to open saved bmp file, Windows Photo Viewer app opens with message in middle of screen stating 'Windows Photo Viewer cant open this picture because either Photo Viewer doesn't support this file format, or you don't have the latest update to Photo Viewer. This is on 2011 Toshiba A665-3D (os win7), 3D equipped Laptop, with NVIDIA Sterioscopic 3D USB controller, driver version 6.14.11.9765. If I change the file extension to jpg and attempt to open, then I get 'Windows Photo Viewer cant open this picture because file appears to be damaged, corrupted or is too large'. I've checked Windows Online and don't believe this is a Windows issue, (note) as all my other photo files and formats (some very large) open just fine in viewer, paint, photoshop, media center, etc. Anyone, please let me know if you have any ideas... Thanks (Zoyberg) This is the message I get in Windows Photo Viewer when trying to open Skyrim screenshot as BMP file... This is the message I get in Windows Photo Viewer when trying to open Skyrim screenshot as JPG file... This is what the image looks like when opened in Photoshop (skewed and desaturated)...
  9. Breandan, I hope you get this worked out; then let me know how, lol. I'm new to the discussion and haven't spent as much time as you obviously have in attempting to get the mods to work within Skyrim. For me, I've just loaded a new pc version on my Toshiba A665-3D to enjoy the pc/mods experience too; after completing the game pretty much all the way through on my ps3. I must say the graphics seem to look better on my hd monitor, but I wanted to add some cool mods for fun too. I have attempted to add the lockpick, perks, and Caliente bodies mods. But like you and a few others on here, am not seeing any sign of them in the game play. I also used the Nexus Manager to upload the mods directly into the data folders, and have read the read me files too. I'm not as savvy as some of the 'real' experienced gamers on here. This is the first time I've ever even heard about mods, etc. I'm sure it's something simple or out of place, or the anti-virus. It would be nice if there was somebody that could log-in 'remote' (trusted) and simply fix these issues. That would be work some beer and pizza bucks to me too. Lol Sounds like that guy bben46 knows the way around this stuff for sure. W
