  1. Here is the update as of now though I didnt get as muich work on it as I wouldve liked the last few days. Hopefully finishing it soon.   2. I like the mammoth tusk idea, I'll work on that tonight. I'm also working on cleaning up the designs on the helmet and getting the color to better match the armor. I'll post a pic tonight or tomorrow.
  3. Thanks Skrypto. Any suggestions for touch-ups? This is my first texture mod and I had no idea what I was doing for the normals, any tips there? Oh, also...do people like the horn color, or is the default color better?
  4. Hey guys, I'm very new at making this kind of mod. I'm usually more comfortable working with scripts and game balancing, but here is my first attempt at texturing. I hated the ebony helmet like so many other people, so I sought out to find a better model. I also didnt want to take another model that is commonly found in skyrim, so I settled on what happened to be my favorite helmet in the game: the ancient nord helmet.   6. THanks for the tip Mshoap. I'll keep that in mind before I consider a public release. So the texture is coming along okay, despite the fact that I really dont know what I'm doing. However, while I like the textrue I'm making well enough, I was wondering if there is anyway to get rid of the bumpy look on the ancient nord helmet? It doesnt seem to be part of the model itself but rather some effect to make it look like the model is bumpy. http://i990.photobucket.com/albums/af30/stonedzen/screenshot.jpg Notice the bumpy "hammered" look to the model, any way to remove that?
  7. Nevermind, I fixed it. Made a dupe of the (ARMO) ArmorDraugrHelmet in TESsnip and changed its FormID and name to that of the ebony helmet and saved the esp. When I loaded the game, my character had the new model for the ebony helmet. Now, onto the retexture!

Hey guys, So I was inspired by DankRafft's ebony helmet replacement mod (which replaces the lame ebony helmet with the nightingale cowl) and decided I wanted to make my own replacement mod for the ebony helmet. Specifically, I plan to replace the ebony helmet with the Ancient Nord helmet, along with a high res texture replacement so the new helmet matches the ebony armor. I've run into a little snag though.... I used FOMM's TESsnip to isolate the (ARMO) ArmorEbonyHelmet. Then I modified the MOD2 and MOD4 entries with the world models for the ancient nod helmet (armor\draugr\draugrhelmetmale_go.nif) and that worked fine in-game. But when I try to modify the MODL entry, replacing it with the same HEX code used in the MODL entry of ARMO (ArmorDraugrHelmet), my characters head simply disappears in-game when I equip it. I have double checked my work many times and cant figure out what I'm doing wrong. I even opened DankRafft's mod with mine in TESsnip to see if I missed a step but I cant see anything I did differently. Any ideas are appreciated and I will credit whoever helps me fix this when I post it on Nexus.
  9. That actually makes perfect sense....it is very likely the game saving that is causing the crash. The three times it crashes are: 1) when I save, 2) when I quick travel (autosaves), 3) when I enter/exit a building (autosaves). So with that in mind, anyone have input as to why it crashes when the game saves? I would hate to think I could never save my game again, it would not be worth playing.
  10. Hey guys, first post on New Vegas for me. System specs: Phenom II x4 955 BE @ 3.6 cores and 2600mhz imc 8gb ddr3-1600 cl 7-7-7-24 Gigabyte GTX460 with latest nvidia drivers Love this game, and love the mods out there, but having serious issues as of late. Thanks in advance for any help btw! The problem is that I randomly get corrupted savegames. By corrupted I mean the following: The savegame will load and run fine, but the second I try to quick travel or enter/exit a building the game crashes to desktop. The only way top fix this seems to be deleting the savegame and finding an earlier one that will allow me to transition between areas. The most frustrating part is that sometimes saves will work fine one day and suddenly be corrupted the next. For example: with this issue I will save often, and test my saves by loading them and trying to quick travel...if it doesnt crash, I reload the save and continue forward in the game. But sometimes when I return to these old and tested savegames they suddenly ctd when I quicktravel or enter a building, thus are corrupt. The issue began a while ago, so I did a clean install of the game and reinstalled my mods. Now it seems to be worse than before. The primary mods I use are: Project Nevada, WMX, IWS, Populated Casinos, Electrocity, NV Bounties 1+2, and Nevada skies. Those are the big ones, but just for good measure, here is my load order.... any ideas what is causing this issue?
