  1. I have a weird and very annoying visual bug where at certain angles large (an small) chucks of of terrain seem to disappear showing the sky beyond. This occurs only when running mods which I have only updated (no new ones) since this started happening. Unfortunately I do not remember which ones were updated since I last played as I updated the mods without playing for some time. At first I thought it was Skyrim Project Optimization but after updating it to take into account the USKP changes and also playing without it it does not seem to be due to that mod. I don't know which other mods are likely candidates. Here is my mod list (excluding re-textures and other simple replacers): Any help with this problem would be much appreciate.
  2. I have very little experience in modding and have made, using TES5Edit, a set of three .esp files (one each for vanilla Skyrim, Dawnguard and Dragonborn) that get rid of the "Never Resets" flags from most encounter zones (excluding player homes and a few huts). Is this safe? For example will any quest related stuff respawn/reset when it shouldn't or are they exempt from respawning? Here are lists of each the zones changed in each .esp file*: Vanilla Skyrim: IronbindBarrowAngarvundeAvanchnzelBlindCliffCaveBthardamzBrokenOarGrottoDarklightTowerDustmansCairnEldergleamSanctuaryRockjointIslandFolgunthurGeirmundsHallGlenmorilCovenGoldenglowFarmHarmugstahlFarmHillgrundsTombHonningbrewMeaderyIrkngthandKilkreathRuinsKorvanjundLabyrinthianMistwatchMzulftNilheimNorthwatchKeepPotemasCatacombsRagnvaldRannveigsFastReachcliffCaveReachwaterRockSaarthalIcerunnerSnowVeilSanctumStillbornCaveFrostmereCryptNightcallerTempleUstengravValthumeYngolBarrowYngvildYsgramorsTombSouthfringeSanctumKarthspireRedoubtMarkarthWizardsQuartersMarkarthWizardsQuarters02DushnikhYalCrackedTuskKeepRebelsCairnKatariahHelgenMarkarthAbandonedHouseWinterholdCollegeMiddenTowerOfMzark Dawnguard: BthalftForebearsHoldoutDimhollowCryptArkngthamzBthalftAetheriumForgeRuunvaldFalmerValleyTempleDragonborn: AltarofThrondFrosselGyldenhulBarrowBook01DungeonNchardakTempleOfMiraakVahloksTombKolbjornBarrowWhiteRidgeBarrowAbandonedLodgeAshfallowHighpointTowerThirskInteriorThirskExteriorBook04DungeonBook07DungeonSnowcladRuinsRRTempleTomb*Sorry about the long lists; I wish there was a spolier-hiding option. Unfortunately I am unable to upload anything, probably due to the router. When I can and if the aforementioned changes are OK I'll upload them as a mod.
  3. Thanks for you reply (and PM). I think it is not possible to entirely solve the nigh/day detection with the ENB, however there are some ENB's designed around CoT that do a decent job of balancing the lighting so that it seems fairly natural. For example I can highly recommend Phinix Natural ENB and Project ENB. I suspect the night/day detection might be largely the fault of CoT as well (though it is still and outstandingly good mod). I'm hoping that CoT 3.0 corrects some of these issues and I'm looking forward to its release. I haven't found a proper solution so if you do or anyone else out there does please let me know. Thanks.
  4. I may be wrong but I think you may have accidentally replied to the wrong topic.
  5. I'm creating a Climates of Tamriel (CoT) compatible ENB configuration with ENB v0.139 and am stuck trying to get decent night/day detect in overcast/rainy weather. In poor weather during the daytime the ENB seems to detect it as being night (I've even had vampires attack at 11:00 am, though I don't know if that is just CoT saying it is dark enough for vampires). I've tweaked the NIGHTDAY ENB setting to no avail (including default detector). Does anyone have any suggestions? I would also welcome any advice on CoT ENB compatibility in general.
  6. I have been unable to upload things to websites: for example I cannot upload an avatar to these forums (well below the file size limit) and other sites including other forums and file sharing ones. I have tried other browsers (I use Firefox), including the Steam client and I've check that it isn't my firewall. However I can add and send email attachments and uploading university work to sumbit is fine. I strongly suspect the problem lies with my router. When running a internet speed test (speedtest.net) my upload speed it very low at 0.35 Mbps (compared to a downloads speed of 2.18 Mbps with a ping of 45 ms). Does any know what port/protocol such uploading uses? Or do you know what else may be the cause of this problem? Any help would be much appreciated.
  7. Hooray! I've found possible solutions! Thanks to dAb in this post. Possible solution one: follow instructions here. Possible solution two: follow instructions here. I've done both of these and will see whether it works (I'll update on whether they were successful later).
  8. I've been having the same problem (though for enemies spawned via console this bug does not occur) and I am glad to finally found a possible solution. I'm probably being stupid but where do I extract the files you mention from? I can't find ones of those name. I am using ASIS - is that the cause of the problem? Ignore my last post: I find out how to do that. For anyone else with this problem follow the instructions here. It may be worth trying this as well/instead. I hope this helps.

  10. It now seems that when spawn using the console this problem does not occur.
  11. I can confirm that I have the same problem though I have only seen a few other mentions of it. Also this bug seems to be for non-unique enemies. While I, unsurprisingly, have a number of mods installed I can't find any that are causing this bug. Is there anyone else who has had this bug and/or knows how to fix it? Any help would be much appreciated. (While I know this thread is old I thought it better to revive it than start a new one on the same problem.)
  12. Automatic Variants is great - would it be worth letting the author, Leviathan1753, know of my suggestion in case they could and would want to make it into a mod?
  13. and a massive project. As someone with virtually no experience in modding I did not know how difficult it would be, though I thought the telescope wouldn't be too tricky (though I am probably very wrong). A quick forum search will reveal dozens of similar requests. I did a searches for compass, telescope and binoculars and couldn't find anything similar - must've overlooked them.
  14. Wouldn't having a telescope (or binoculars) be handy for admiring the scenery and examining the enemy from afar? The explorer theme could be continued with a proper compass (not an HUD compass replacer, just a separate item) the when equipped one can view from a first person perspective like a real one. I think these would be small immersion enhancing additions which would fit well with the open world exploration of Skyrim. I feel a Dwemer theme would be appropriate, though once the mechanics of the mod were finished others could design alternative textures. What do you think? (Also, if you do make these into a mod could you please give me some credit?) Edit: Another similar idea to the compass - a pocket watch.
  15. I found it a bit annoying that stuff in the distance appeared to be just a illuminated as the nearby area when looking through the glowing aura of the candlelight spell. (If you don't know what I mean look at a distant dark area outdoors in the night then use candlelight outdoors (most noticeable in third person perspective) and see how it lights up the previously dark area). This is quite unrealistic and immersion breaking so it would be great if someone could fix this. Could you also give me credit if you do make this mod, please?
